Hi,
I recently managed to fix my HTC One from a boot loop and accidentally put on an Asia HTC One RUU even though it said it was for Europe. Since then, I've been trying to look for a Europe based one, more specifically the UK and I've had no luck. Could anyone point me in the right direction or provide a fully stock 4.4.3 Rom with sense 6 and full OTA update capability?
Would really appreciate it.
Thanks.

I don't understand, you said that you have flashed an Asian RUU but according to your getvar, everything is 100% stock Vodaphone version. Your phone is s-on which prevent to flash the wrong RUU and there is no RUU for that version which make me beleive what you said at post #1 is incorrect.
However if you want to convert it to an european version like the x.xx.401.x version and receive ota updates, you'll need s-off
or you can use custom roms.
btw edit your above post and remove your imei and serialno
O no, I reverted to a custom Rom because the Asian one wouldn't accept ota updates

I reverted back to a rooted stock rom but i don't really like it. Ive checked the rom that you've linked in your signature and was wondering if that would work on my device in order to restore OTA updates however, I can't get S-OFF due to a certain firmware update

if you want ota updates you must use the 6.12.161.8 version like in your getvar, otherwise you'll need s-off to convert to another version or keep using custom roms.
Btw 6.12.161.8 is the latest vodaphone version

So if i flash a vodafone version back on to my phone, i should have OTA updates back? The thing is, i don't want the vodafone bloatware so i'm looking for a stock version with no bloatware so, if I flashed a vodafone RUU and then flahsed your version, would I be ok and have what I want?

Your phone CID and MID is vodafone so you can only receive ota updates for vodafone plus your rom must be on the same version as listed on your fastboot getvar all, otherwise you will not be able to install ota updates (firmware and software mismatch).
If you want to debloat your rom by installing another version (like the dev edition or the european version) and receive ota updates, you will need s-off to do a full conversion which include to change your CID, MID and flashing a RUU.
Or you can use latest custom rom versions.

You can achieve s-off using sunshine. The rom linked in my signature is not a RUU and you will not receive ota update because your firmware will not match the software version. Use a RUU and change your cid and mid so they match the RUU version

In that case, I may well install the Vodafone ruu and be back at square one. I'll just have to disable all the Vodafone bloatware through the app manager.

Sorry to be a pain but I've got a 6.12.161.8 firmware zip file from the HTC dev site. If I was to install this on to my HTC one, would I be able to go back to stock android?

All right, here comes a noob question:
My HTC One is from Israel, and though I made a nandroid backup of my phone after I rooted it, I don't have one from before my rooting it. That said, my CID was HTC__K18...there is no RUU for that CID, so I used rumrunner to s-off my phone, changed my CID to HTC__01 and used the European RUU (the U not the UL because my phone is a U) to get %100 back to stock. The RUU that I flashed has a hboot of 1.44 and my stock was already a 1.54 and 4.2.2 (maybe 4.1.2?)...anyway after flashing the RUU, I'm not able to OTA and I really just want to get %100 stock...in a way that I'd be capable of receiving all the updates OTA and have the highest firmware/software. Thanks in advance!
Oh, and here's some of my info:
version-bootloader: 1.44.0000 (it shipped with 1.54 but I RUUed an older version)
version-baseband: 4A.14.3250.13
version-main: 1.29.401.2 (it shipped with 2.24.401.2)
version-misc: PVT SHIP S-OFF (used rumrunner to s-off hboot of 1.54)
product: m7_u
platform: HBOOT-8064
modelid: PN0711000
cidnum: HTC__001 (I changed the cid from HTC__k18)

LOL, this just resulted in another question: why not use a custom ROM, they get updated way more frequently than OTAs? If you want "stock as possible" you can check out ARHD, it's very stock. (and since you're S-Off you can upgrade/downgrade anytime, including firmware!!)
As for benefits of the other two options:
1) I think HTC__001 (or was it Y13, not sure), are usually among the first WWE editions to get OTAs (not as fast as custom ROMs )
2) HTC_K18 would put you back to a state where you bought the phone.
It's all personal choice, eg I like stock but want it rooted so I'm currently running ARHD 13.3 (until I decide to upgrade), others like their Venom Tweaks or InsertCoin etc... and again for others they need to be unrooted because of some banking apps.
So give it a thought and let me know, which road you wanna take
PS: Hit the thanks button if I helped

Thank you for the quick reply!
Okay, so I'd like to go with the European road...as far as custom ROMs are concerned, I had ARHD, both GE and Sense, but I just want things to run smoothly and not worry about OTAs....I'd like to receive them as soon as they're available with the least amount of headache...
On that note, can I receive OTA updates directly from HTC while I'm s-off? Because currently I don't have that option...it doesn't even show that I have an update available.
Also, is your nandroid of 2.24.401.2 made with cid HTC__k18?
P.s. I don't even need/want to root the phone again...it's just too much for me. I'd like to get as stock as possible while keeping the options open (that's why I want to leave s-off).
Thank you again for your help! You're awesome!

Ok, European road
1- You've already changed your CID, you still need to change your MID: "fastboot oem writemid PN0710000"
(keep a record of your original CID, MID, and software/firmware version somewhere in case you ever need it)
2- remove tampered either using revone or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477792
3- set your phone to LOCKED (not relocked) using revone or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914
4- then use the full European RUU: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
you should keep S-Off and not go back S-On.
After installing the RUU you should immediately start receiving OTAs all the way up to 3.62
PS: remember the above procedure will wipe everything off your phone, so back up anything you may need first!!

You're awesome. However, I did all those steps except for the first step...when I go into recovery mode now, there's still the red lettering as well as when I go into "Tell HTC and error reporting" the red lettering says "This is a test device. Accordingly, to collect critical information about the device, Tell HTC is enabled and cannot be turned off regardless of device settings." Oh, and I'm not able to receive the OTAs.
Now, if I change the MID, do I need to do all the steps again or can I just do the first step now? Will that help get rid of the "test device" warnings that I have on the phone?
Oh, and I used this European one before (cause I have a U and not UL) http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_..._10-33-1150-01_release_311663_signed_2_4-exe/
Why would I use the UL one?

You won't get any OTAs because of your MID, change it, and see if you start getting the OTAs. M7_U and M7_UL share pretty much most of the software stuff, the hardware is different of course, but MID 0711 and CID HTC__001 won't get any OTAs.
The "Tell HTC and error reporting" red text is because you're S-Off, personally I wouldn't care. But if it bothers you A LOT, you'll need to go S-On again, and AT THIS TIME you should NOT!!! we can deal with that later.
Change MID, and confirm you are now getting OTAs
Again DO NOT GO S-ON, at least for the time being!!

Let's slow it down a little, if I understand correctly:
1- you are now unTAMPERED
2- you are now LOCKED, not RElocked or UNlocked
3- you have CID: HTC__001
4- you have MID: PN0711000
5- you ran the RUU: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_..._10-33-1150-01_release_311663_signed_2_4-exe/
6- you are still S-Off (please!)
If all of the above are true, when you go to Settings->About->Software Update (or whatever it's called), does it show an update? or what does it say
EDIT: can you repost a "fastboot getvar all" (remove IMEI and s/n)

Before we go on messing with MID, can you just change CID to HTC__J15 (two underscores) and check for a software update, don't know the original 1.xx version, but I am sure that J15 PN0711 got the 2.24.401.2 and (possibly) 2.24.401.9.
Just check if it gives an update with HTC__J15, no need to download it!!

Hey, how are you today?
I'll be online later (around 5 or 6), but it looks like that RUU is fully compatible with ur original CID. So go ahead with your original CID, and get the OTAs. U should be able to get at least to 2.24.401.9, don't know if 3.62 is out for u yet.
Keep s-off in case we need to change something later.

Hey, no the RUU is not compatible with my original CID (HTC__K18) as there are no available upgrades after I change the CID...also the same is true when I change it to HTC__001, though it did work when you told me to update to J something or other...weird.

Well I guess you have 2 choices:
1- set CID to HTC__J15 -> a friend of mine has PN0711000 HTC__J15, it's basically the M7_U version and HTC__J15 is a nonbranded WWE edition but usually for the Middle East
2- set CID to HTC__001, set MID to PN0710000, and use this RUU: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
by changing to MID PN0710000, it will make the software on your phone think it's a UL model, but since the hardware isn't there for LTE, it won't make any difference.
Step 1, is probably the easiest to do, so why not just set it to J15 and see how far the updates go. (ie if 3.62 is out for J15).
Hope that helps

If you have a file manager with root access you can look at your /system/build.prop and look under ro.aa.romver will give you which version you have.

which HBOOT version do you have, its missing off your output ?
at the moment based on your modelid and your cidnum you have something along the lines of a 401 firmware, need the HBOOT version to determine which exact version though.

At build.prop under ro.aa.romver is 1.54.401.5
My hboot is 1.57. Phone was officially updated to Sense6 and hboot 1.57, if it helps. Then I unlocked and s-offed it and install custom rom.
My question is this:
I looked this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2485651 (Firmware with modified HBOOT, (No Red warning))
There is lot of files for specific firmware versions,
6.06.401.1
5.11.1540.9
4.19.401.11
4.19.401.9
4.19.401.8
4.19.1540.4
3.62.401.1 etc...
but there is nothing for my firmware. Am I missing something?

Your firmware is 5.11.401.??, you can flash any of those firmwares above, but never go s-on, they will lead to an instant brick due to modified hboot
Or see here for original firmwares http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316726

How do you know my firmware version, I can't see it?
So, if I want someday to go back s-on (for warranty) I could flash back original hboot and then go to s-on? But I don't think I will flash this modified hboot, it is only for removing red warning text that is seen only when reboot phone, don't bother me that much to mess around with possibly risky staff.

Ok, but on that site with modified hboots there is no 5.11.401 firmware? Newest Firmware is 6.06.401.1 and previously was 5.11.1540.9. If I updated my phone with officially update, like I was, suppose i would have 6.06.401.1?

Currently running ViperOne 6.2.1. Tried 7.0 last night but things were a bit funky and didn't have enough time to sort 'em all out. Thought firmware might be an issue, and it seems a bigger issue than I originally thought.
Any and all help appreciated
Version-main empty is TWRP issue, you have to re-flash firmware and flash fixed twrp version. I moved from M7 to M8 so I forgot where to find those files, you have to search it.
On M8 I had the same problem, flashing firmware and fixed twrp solved it. Also, when tried latest Viper rom I was on old firmware and had some odd issues, but since flashed new firmware everything is fine.
Hope I helped you.
OK, so if someone could please confirm or correct me... Being S-Off, I can flash latest M7 FW (6.0.xxx, I think?), then latest TWRP, then re-flash Viper, etc? All without having to unlock, etc, again? Think I'm also going to get custom H-boot (latest Firewater) to rid myself of the dreaded red text. Anyone know, or think, of any issues with that?
Many thanks for any and all assistance.

Sorry, I may be noobing out a bit :silly: and venturing outside the Sprint specific forums (couldn't find same issue there), but first link sent me to AT&T ROM thread, which alsi pointed to another thread for firmware which listed several modelid's, none of which matched mine of PN0720000.
I guess I'll keep on looking for firmware for Sprint. I do see that I should be good to go after flashing new FW and recovery and do not have to unlock again, etc.
Thanks! :good:

Hi,
I'm currently looking to turn my HTC One back to stock. It's unlocked but it had Vodafone UK branding and I can't seem to find the correct RUU in order to restore it to stock.
This is my CID and MID:
INFOmodelid: PN0710000
INFOcidnum: VODAP001
Firmware version is: 6.12.161.8
Hboot versionis: 1.57.0000
Could someone help me find the correct RUU? I would really appreciate it as I would like OTA updates ready for the official lollipop release coming in early 2015.
Thanks,

So again, if you want to use a RUU (and there is none for your version) you will need S-OFF.
If you don't want to s-off and you want to be able to receive ota updates again then your only hope is a 6.12.161.8 nandroid backup, because there is no 6.12.161.8 RUU and afaik there is no x.xx.161.x RUU.

@theevilhere
According to your MFG partition you sent me, you original MID is PN0711000 and your original CID is HTC__332. Your phone was manufactured 2013/09/17.
This phone was originally running software version x.xx.599.x, its a Latin America version and unfortunately, afaik, there is no RUU (or any other useful files) available for that version.
The best you can do imo, is to convert it to another version and hope they will not realize.
Even if they realize you have tampered with your phone, they might replace the camera for free, its a well known hardware defect. Some users reported that their phone (camera) were repaired under warranty even if the phone wasn't 100% stock.

That mean you can't return it to stock, the only thing you can do is to convert it to another "stock version", which is not your real stock version and hope that they will not realize this.
If you want to change your CID all you need to do is
Code:
fastboot oem writecid YOUR_CID
e.g:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid HTC__332
if you want instruction about using a RUU, read nkk71's thread linked in my signature.

change your CID and MID to match another RUU and follow nkk71's guide in my signature.
For example you could use the x.xx.401.x version so you'll need to change your CID to HTC__001 and your MID to PN0710000 then flash the 1.28.401.7 ruu, remove the tampered flag from the bootloader and set it back to locked (not relocked). Its the closest from stock you can be.

I am with a HTC ONE M7 Internation/Unlocked Soft-Bricked, with no OS... Here are some information:
- Using TWRP 2.8.7.0 custom recovery for M7 (latest version)
- Unlocked bootloader
- Rooted (at least I did it before wipping my OS)
- S-ON!
- HBOOT v.1.57
- Already have ADB/Fastboot on my PC
- Modelid: PN0711000
- Cidnum: HTC__332
Here's my tale:
I tried to install RUU M7 Lollipop ROM, from HTC's website. But, at the very beggining of the instalation (4%), the RUU software said it lost my device. I did it while in fastboot mode, because it was the only way RUU recognized my phone. Then I could not install Lollipop ROM by RUU method, so I decided to flash a Lollipop ROM Unlocked Version for One M7.
I knew that for doing it I would need to install some custom recovery on my phone, unlock its bootloader mode and install on my PC ADB and Fastboot. I did all of this; the bootloader unlocked I did from HTC's website guide. So, I put on my phone a ROM in zip extension, boot it on recovery mode. I read that I should wipe data, cache, calvik cache and, maybe, system. And I did it... with NO BACKUP of original ROM --' I know I was stupid...
So I wipe this partitions, entered Install menu and tried to run instalation of the ROM zip file. It didn't work!!! Some error: "E: error executing updater binary in zip..." And I tried to flash different ROMs, all of them showed this error...
Then now I am with a Soft-Bricked HTC ONE M7 which has no OS. Some pics of my status: https: // w w w .dropbox.com/s/ruyen2ikn0u5i0u/Soft-Bricked%20M7.rar?dl=0
I hope you can help me
Please, help me :crying:

Then now I am with a Soft-Bricked HTC ONE M7 which has no OS. Some pics of my status: https: // w w w .dropbox.com/s/ruyen2ikn0u5i0u/Soft-Bricked%20M7.rar?dl=0
I hope you can help me

You can't use rumrunner to achieve s-off on hboot 1.57, only method is Sunshine

There is not much available for 6.15.599.101 version, you'll probably need to use custom roms or convert to another version. There is a 6.15.599.101 ruu available at irfile.com but you will need an acount to download it (paid account) http://www.ir-file.com/portal/index.php?dir=Firmware/HTC/HTC_Android/M7_U/

This rom is for the Developer edition version CID BS_US001 and MID PN0712000, By flashing this on your phone, you're far from being stock, you will not get any ota updates and be stuck on this version.

Oh, thanks :/
So, what is the best path to follow to get Lollipop? Should I pay 25 bucks for Sunshine, change my CID and try to flash correct Lollipop rom? Is there another way to get Lollipop rather that one?
Are there so many new and interesting features on Lollipop or should I stay on KitKat 4.4.3? I don't know so many custom good roms; can you recommend me some?
Sorry for asking so much questions. I know, probably I'm bothering you '-'
PS: Now my system asks for an OTA update to Lollipop, but it's not possible... Probably due to what you said about my flashed rom being Developer edition's one.

Either pay for sunshine so you can change your CID / MID to convert your phone to another version using a lollipop RUU or pay for an account at ir-file.com so you can download the .599 ruu and then take all ota updates.

Many ppl likes lollipop and probably as many ppl doesn't like it. I think its better to try it yourself and see what you prefer. Some ppl likes the new features and other ones are complaining about battery drain and lags.

All custom roms are good, it all depends what features you need. The best you can do is to read some rom threads and choose one that fit what you need, try it a few days and if not liking it, flash another one. If you want good battery life and no lag, I would recommend GPE roms, if you need what HTC Sense have to offer, then choose a Sense based rom like ARHD, Maximus, InsertCoin, NuSense ....

Because your CID and MID doesn't match the rom version you have flashed. Developer edition is for CID BS_US001 and MID PN0712000, yours is HTC__332 and PN0711000, In order to receive ota updates, you must be 100% stock either be flashing the .599 ruu for HTC__332 / PN0711000 or by achieving s-off, changing your CID / MID and flashing another version ruu e.g: changing your cid to BS_US001, your MID to PN0712000 and flashing a dev edition (.1540) RUU.

I was reading about Android Revolution HD, it seems good. I really like Blinkfeed (Highlights) so I guess I wouldn't flash a ROM which doesn't have it. I think ARHD got Blinkfeed, right?
Can I flash this ROM on my phone? As far as you know about my specs.
