Will the Gear VR work with the Samsung Galaxy note 4 developer edition? Won't the Verizon update lock your bootloader?
I am looking for an answer to this as well

You'll need to root your device and edit the build.prop. I'm on my way home try this theory on my N910U Exynos which hasn't got the OTA update yet either.
Good luck and dont forget to backup your original build.prop so you can restore it if all goes wrong!

Hi All,
In terms of which version of the NOTE 3 to buy, should i get the ATT one? in terms of development to the device.
I see that the android development forum is currently empty, are roms of other version (not ATT specific) are compatible with it?
thanks.

The AT&T note 3 currently has a locked bootloader. No flashing roms until someone finds a way to unlock the phone. People who seem to need to flash roms are buying the t-mobile one (which has an unlocked bootloader) and bringing it over to AT&T.
I have a rooted and flashed Att Note 3. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474422

What he meant to say was flashed with stock root injected rom, NOT custom rom
Sorry did make it sound like custom Rom. Stock Rom with root access.

Honestly if you're looking for s-pen functionality plus some customization.. rooting plus wanum modules pretty much does the trick. It would be nice if we could flash roms but I don't miss it with all the features this phone has

I would buy the T-Mobile note 3 if you want to flash stuff and rom development. I've been running ATT on the T-Mobile phone for a while now and all is well.

This.
Root on the stock ROM is great, it allows you install must have apps like Greenify, DroidWall, AdAway, Root Explorer, and Wannum Xposed Framework. Plus is stable, being based off the official stock OS.
That's all you really need, and allows tons of control over the phone, without an actual ROM or need for unlocked bootloader.

Need some assistance. WHY CANT I ACCESS ABOUT DEVICE?
Can't open About Device on Hyper Drive Rom for ATT Note 3 .. Keeps crashing.

This is useless. If you would have read the op in the hyperdrive thread you would have seen it in the listed/known bugs. Please read the op before flashing never assume you know exactly what is going on.
All it is is a mismatched id in the smali oncreate method. It will be fixed next release
Thanks. Makes sense now. Didn't catch that in the thread.

What custom recovery I should use on AT&T Galaxy Note 3 - 4.4.2 - N900A?
Safe strap in the development section is the only thing you can use
So.. do you think we will ever find a way to unlock to bootloader

I read a few months back that an exploit was found that will unlock the bootloader permanently. It is supposed to be released in august some time. If I find the like I will point you to it.

Yeah I heard about that, lets just hope its true and be able to get Custom Recoveries and be able to install PAC-MAN, CM ROMS, ect.
So first off, I have been able to put different firmware onto this phone. Up until i did the OTA 4.4(?) not sure exactly but the latest. I didnt realize at the time of this and i tried to put an older version back(4.2.2) and now my phone cannot connect to my computer network and also doesnt show that there is any phone networks connection. Did i brick it? Is there a fix? Remember that my s3 mini is NOT a GT-whatever.
Which file you put in youre s3mini, can you boot in the recovery mode? Sure you had the g730w8?

Well i sort have figured it out, but what i mainly wanted was to root, unlock and then update, but instead i rooted, updated(by accident), downgraded, got a new line on the odin mode on the cell. "bootloader rp swrev:1". and then nothing worked. like no cell reception and wifi wouldn't allow me to turn it on. So from there i got the new firmware from a reputable place, and reinstalled it. Now everything works again, but not sure if i can still root and unlock from this point.
Edit: Yes it is the SM-G730w8, also cant really find a direct answer for "bootloader rp swrev:1" any help with that would be great.
Just toot with towelroot check general section or Google worked perfectly on my g730w8

Thank you. I now have a rooted S3 Mini on Kitkat Original rom. Only one question left, how do you get it unlocked from this point, as i want to use it with a different carrier than original. I has been a while since ive done anything on these newer models of Android and there is just way too many models for this cell. Ive done it before were you get the bml5.img but i cant seem to get it on here. I havent tried any other way yet, and everything looks legit up to this point. Thanks again for the help.

Does anyone know what's the latest and simplest method to unroot the device so OTA updates can be downloaded? If odining back to stock firmware can be avoided that'd be great. I'm trying to get rid of some annoying issues on my current build. Thanks.

I gave in and flashed the original os. The device runs significantly better. It seems the themes from Samsung slowed down my phone and caused a lot of issues with the dialer app.

Need really bad to unroot restore stock G925AUCU2AOF4, using Odin. My Galaxy Edge has Null for IMEI, servicemode is blank no commands, and no broadband version so no Sim will work. if not posted yet anyone know about when it will be available here as this is most trustworthy site? Also i hear it is not wise, possible to flash with a previous version than my current phone which is G925AUCU2AOF4 - i hope i and others don't have to wait too long.
Thanks,

I take that back. My device started lagging bad, especially when it was in use while connected to the charger.
