[Q] TWO different SIII Minis. - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I8200N/L.....
I8190
Just wondering how long it will take until the two different SIII Minis are getting a seperate name and listing.
I think a lot of people are having a hard time recognizing and realizing the fact of two different Models.

[Q] i537/i9295 Differences

I have been an Active (i537) owner since the first day it came out. Along with others, I remember begging XDA for our own forum--separate from the regular S4 forum. Now, I am wondering if, perhaps, we should have been more specific. It seems like the differences between the i537 and the i9295 are great enough that we should have asked for two new forums instead of one. I don't follow the S4 thread, so maybe, these small differences exist in that forum also, but sometimes, it seems a little tedious to have our own forum and still have to carefully check for the model number that pertains to my phone. I don't intend this purely as a complaint, but am I the only one that thinks that the two should have been separated?
BTW, I do realize that it is very late in the game to reasonably ask for two separate forums. It would be a major pain to even attempt to make a split now. I am really just asking how similar are these two phones? Maybe, I am missing something.

The only difference between the i537 and the i9295 is that the i537 has a locked bootloader, other than that they are the exact same phone. The only problem I see with having separate forums is what happens if/when they figure out a way to unlock the bootloader? Then you have identical phones in two different forums. I agree it takes a minute to figure out which phone people are talking about, but generally it's pretty easy to figure out.

[Q] 5,674,187 members and not one of you answer

I know I am new here and have been asking a question for a couple of days now and I would think with this many members at least someone would step up to the plate an offer some help or tell me where to go for being a newbie. Come on now I sure could use some help here. Please?
It would be a lot more productive if you actually posted what you needed help with...

Thanks for the reply. I have for the past 2 days in a row. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini SM-G730A with a locked bootloader that I need to figure out how to get unlocked so I can change carrier on. I love the phone and want to keep it but my patience has all but worn thin on. I have tried just about everything I can find out on the internet on and nothing has worked so far.

If you searched through some of the threads regarding the SM--G730A you would've learned that it's bootloader is not unlocked yet, and there exists no way to unlock it as of yet. I don't think any active developers have that phone either, and to my knowledge only a recovery has been built for the phone (but you can't flash it because of the locked bootloader), only root has been achieved for your phone.
The phone you have isn't the S3 Mini here (the S3 mini here is the GT-I8190), Samsung's naming conventions are really stupid at times - your phone and the GT-I8190 have nothing in common outside of it's name. I think the GT-I8190 was marketed heavily overseas in Europe and such, whereas your model's only available in the States and Canada.
Thanks for the reply

Just a tip - search through xda to see if there's any active development on your phone, it'll save you a crapload of trouble, and I'd also avoid verizon and at&t phones in general because of their tendency to lock boot-loaders, I notice the google play edition of phones and the t-mobile versions tend to have unlocked boot-loaders and have better support.
Oh and google's dropped the price on the Nexus 5, about $320 usd for the 16gb, if you're interested and have the money.
Thanks Again

i personally see no point in helping some one who posts a thread like this
such a spoiled selfish approach demanding the community to reply to a thread
same goes for any thread posted about if this phone is worth buying

No one knows how to search ?

Do we need 2 forums

Is the gear 2 and gear 2 neo different enough to really need to forums?
It makes sense for phones like SG4 where putting the wrong carriers rom can brick your phone. Also with millions more potential users, you can really get answers you need from any of the forum groups.

I wish they were combined as well. I end up looking through both of them even though I have the Neo.
This was raised, discussed, rejected by admins, and locked. Expect just the lock this time.

[Q] Jedi Roms for the Note 4???

Does anyone know there will be any Jedi Roms for our Note 4?
I am slowly taking bits and pieces from the other jedi roms and making one for myself. I am not a Dev nor do I claim to be, and what I am putting together will NEVER be posted here or anywhere and will not be shared with anyone SO DONT ASK. I would love to see an official build thats all.
Thanks to all Devs without your hard work none of this would be posible
I don't think the dev got the phone. Make sure you ask the dev about what you use and if he says yes keep that response and give credit.protect yourself from any misunderstanding

Thanks for the information. I will contact the dev.
Funny, I introduced the light saber sounds during my Note 2 days and a couple roms use them still. (Just a couple .ogg files). I'm no developer, but it's my claim to fame anyway!

Can S2 owners and S1 owners ask for an seperate S2 section

All these S2 posts are doing my head in, I have an S1 and i cannot see anything but S2 threads and posts.
S2 owners you need your own section, S1 owners we need to get rid of our S2 relatives, they came for a day or two and now we cannot get rid of them.
Can you add to my request for an S2 section in the link below.

Unfortunately, if they were going to do it I believe they would have by now. It really doesn't make sense as to why they won't separate them... they're completely different devices.
If you've added the requests in that thread, it will get picked up... there should be no obvious reason why the S2 shouldn't have its own Fora, but it really depends on many factors...
I would advise against flooding the request thread... one request is enough. Seriously.
Thread closed.
