[Q] Going back to the XT1092 model from the XT1095 - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear all!
I converted my European XT1092 to the American XT1095 Pure Edition to flash Lollipop.
Now the European ROMs are rolling out - and I would like to go back to the original model number to receive future ota updates in my country. Unfortunately flashing back KitKat for the XT1092 didn´t work...(nor did the European Lollipop firmware)
Does anyone know how I can convert my Moto X 2014 back to its initial state when I bought it? From XT1092 to XT1095 and now back again to XT1092?
Thanks in advance!
Edit: Found the problem and solved it!

Yeah how? I need this also. Would be very kind of you to post it.

Just use the mfastboot commands from this post but use a uk firmware image.. Flash them one by one and all should be fine
Hey any ideas how i can go about installing that? Ive tried to use Multi tool to get stock but now it says my phone is xt1095 but it was originally xt1092 :/ ive tried to find the uk stock firmware but no luck.
It's a factory image you can flash it over anything you currently have running. Open the Multi tool folder and you will see some called 'msfastboot' Make a new folder on your desktop and place that in there, then download the factory image I gave you the link for and extract it into the same folder you placed the msfastboot into. Then, whilst in that folder hold the shift key on your keyboard and then right click on your mouse and select 'open a command window here' Then put your phone in fastboot by turning it off and holding the power and volume down keys at the same time. Then, in the terminal you opened earlier type these commands one at a time:
mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
mfastboot flash logo logo.bin (REMOVES YOUR CUSTOM BOOTLOGO (Not neccessary))
mfastboot flash boot boot.img
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img

mfastboot erase cache
mfastboot erase userdata (FACTORY RESETS YOUR FLASH MEMORY (Not neccessary))
mfastboot erase customize (REMOVES MOTOMAKER CUSTOMIZATIONS (Not neccessary))
mfastboot erase clogo (REM

You wont see them until after they have pushed officially.
And then, any Developer XT1053 or XT1060 images will get posted to Moto's web site -> https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images
In case you don't wanna use RSD Lite/You own a Mac:
MANUAL FLASHING
Much easier AND don't have to deal with getting RSD Lite to work....
Note - this was done on VZW variant, and based on XML file of that particular firmware. Get these instructions from your firmware package XML file.
Note 2 - VERY IMPORTANT!!! - You MUST use mfastboot (Moto fastboot) for the system.img flash as its too large for standard Android fastboot to handle, your flash WILL fail if you use standard fastboot. Hence why it says "mfastboot" this is not a typo.
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase customize
fastboot erase clogo
fastboot oem config carrier vzw
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
Note: this is all done using fastboot/mfastboot/adb manually on your command prompt/terminal.
Good luck.

use RSD 6.2.4, it's compatible with Moto X 2nd.
You shouldn't update OTA, i think flash full fw with RSD is safest way, cleanest, and fastest.

i search that version and worked, but i already flash by fastboot xD
if i want 6.0 i have to find a stock firmware or just root device/install recovery/falsh rom right?
i have the brazilian stock rom and The OTA doesn't show
EDIT: i just install 6.0 by RSD lite 6.2.4 using this stock rom

Update Marshmallow Unlocked XT-1097

Hello,
I have unlocked Motorola X (2nd Gen) XT-1097.
System version : 23.201.3.victara_att.att.en.US.att
What is the best way to update my device to Android Marshmallow without broke the carrier unlock?
Thank You
Since you are carrier unlocked, you should choose one of the unlocked firmwares, example RETLA (Retail Latin America).
You should be safe if you follow instructions from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/retail-marshmallow-xt1097-mpe24-49-18-t3275894
&
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-moto-x-return-to-100-stock-using-t2446515
Proceed at your own risk. Good luck
Hi renzs,
What is the different between these firmware?
@chasanb OK. I had a chance to re-read the attached posts and I find that somethings missing. So below is my steps that I do to flash stock marshmallow firmware on my phone.
Before anything, download motorola drivers & install, download latest twrp, and download mfastboot plus stock marshmallow firmware & unzip to d:/mfastboot or wherever.
https://mega.nz/#F!ow8igZRL!Z7vmN8GOpez2bVMYDvEKkg!IkEVHRxS
1. unlock bootloader
2. install latest twrp recovery
3. reboot recovery
4. wipe all
5. reboot bootloader
6. run 1 by 1 below steps
mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
mfastboot reboot-bootloader
mfastboot flash logo logo.bin
mfastboot flash boot boot.img
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.6
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.7
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.8
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.9
mfastboot erase modemst1
mfastboot erase modemst2
mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
mfastboot reboot

Model number XT1092/XT1097/XT1095 and Country/Carrier/Version (RETBR is Retail Brazil, RETLA is Retail Latin America, RETGB is Retail Great Britain, ATT is AT&T, TMO is T-Mobile, 6.0 is marshmallow, 5.1 is Lollipop, etc.)
Again, please proceed at your own risk. You "sound" like you don't know what you're getting yourself into. Apologies if I'm wrong.
Actualy I am zero about this renzs,
In your opinion, How many percentage for your guide to work without broke the carrier unlock?
And, If this step fails, do you know step to unlock the carrier?
Hi,
Maybe, there was no Marshmallow firmware for my smartphone (AT&T XT-1097). At file that I downloaded the file name just contain version 5.1. VICTARA_ATT_XT1097_5.1_LPE23.32-21.9_cid1_CFC.xml.
I am afraid that firmware not update my smartphone to Marshmallow.
And I more afraid If try another firmware (non ATT firmware).
what is your opinion?
Thank you.
