Hi guys , so I'm using "device only" for location. I notice that frequently, the location icon pops up in the notification bar "searching for location". It lasts about 2-3 sec but I found it quite annoying. When I changed to " power saving ", of course it didn't show up any more but I'd like to keep using device only since it doesn't seem to affect the battery. Note that I use some apps that requires location like google fit. Does anyone experience this? This is a brand new replacement. I don't recall seeing this icon too much with the last Note 4 (I also used device only back then"
Only time you won't see it is if GPS is off. Other than that go with what you like. Icon will still appear

Hi Everyone...
I finally have my 8925 just how I like it (for now anyways).. I still have the 6.0 AT&T rom (minus the bloatware by resetting when it installed it).. I have all the programs I like, (ie HTC Home, TomTom, etc).. I even got the internet set up for my tiny hole i nthe wall providor... I do not want to flash the entire thign and start over... but my battery meter is missing from the top when it is at the Today Screen... When S2U2 is on, it shows the battery.. My Today screen is slightly longer than I want.. I was going to get rid of the HTCHomeplug, as its only real function for me is to show the battery level.. But in the Start bat, it used to show the battery if I remember right, but does not anymore... .. It shows (right to left) a 3 line thing that shows what programs are running, the time, audio levels, singal strength, Wireless connection type (E or 3G), and then a Triangle icon...
Any advice what to do? I tried that Ariel Battery and it shows the level.. but onyl when I click the file.. when I exit it goes away... I don;t really care what speed of internet is avaialble to me as I usually use WiFi anyways so that icon coudl go away, also the time is shows in the HTC Home so that could go away too if that helps.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
if you exit ariel battery it will go away. if you click hide it will not. after putting a link in the startup folder and restarting it shouldn't even show up in your task manager. hope this helps.
LVMTopBat works for me
I found LvmTopBat here. It shows battery status all the time without taking up valuable screen space. Check it out.
I fill stupid, about a year ago I installed a battery status bar that is displayed at the top of the screen (above the start menu). It goes from green to red and shows the status of your battery. I believe you were able to change the battery status to memory, SD card etc.. anyway I accidentally pressed it and hit "none" when asked which status it would like me to show. After hitting it the battery status bar disappeared like it was suppose to.
I looked everywhere in my tilt, can not find the program to turn it back on. Does anyone know what little program this is, and were it may be located on my tilt. I can not figure how to turn it on.
Any help!!
Sounds like one of the functions of iLauncher. Is that something you have installed?
You can always look in Setting, System, Remove Programs to see everything you have installed.
I think the application is Batti?

Good luck
Edit: Reinstalling the cab will get it back for you!

Or go into File Explorer> My Device or Storage Card> program files. I have found many aprogram I thought long gone there, sitting just switched off or unloaded.
Could be in windows\startup folder. Depends on if it starts automatically or if you have to start it after a soft reset. I have one called Vistahide battery guage that I like. Just shows battery status at the top, green yellow orange red type of thing. doesn't take up space.
Kyphur, you got it! Thanks for the replys guys, it was in iLauncher!
When I first turned on the m8 there was a Qualcomm iZat message on the notification bar. I have not seen it since. What actually happens when you tap that notification?

A window with a brief explanation appears and a check box if you want to turn it on. It a location service thing.

I've turned mine on, I haven't experienced any kind of negative impact on the battery or anything (that I've noticed anyway). If you want to run it and see for yourself you can find the app within your app drawer.
Hi,
I often use the RunKeeper application when I make long walks. In all my previous phones, the GPS kept working when I turned off the display and put the phone in my pocket. In the mi 5, however, it seems like the GPS stopped functioning as soon as I turn off the display put the phone in my pocket. When I take it back out, it shows the same position that I was at when I put the phone in my pocket, and within a few seconds it is updated to my actual position.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a matter of settings (maybe even permissions)? Same happens with navigation apps like Waze - if I put another application to run in the foreground, such as Youtube, then Waze (while still working in the background) loses my location, and when I switch back to it after some time, it takes a few seconds to show me my new location.
Thanks,
Shlomy
Hi,
This has happened to me also while using the Starva app and the reason is MIUI doesn't allow to use the Location in Background.
To allow that, go to
Settings -> Battery & Performance -> Power -> App Battery Saver
and select the app you want. Then you'll see that Background location is Restrict. Make it Allow and you're good to go.

Samitha
Thanks so much! Almost got me to try custom roms because of that.
Hallo,
Recently I have noticed this white line at the top of my screen. Since it shows in the screenshots it is an Software problem. I started my S21 Ultra once in the safe mode but the problem still persisted.
I have already contacted Samsung Customer Service but they also had no idea. Does someone have the same same problem or a solution?
It doesn't bother me but I fear burnin over Time
It seems like a part of the notification bar. But disappears when I show the navigation bar with the tiles.
It looks like one of those battery indicator lines. Did you install any UI mods or battery analysis apps? Sometimes these battery apps have a built in option for exactly that. Easy way to know is, does the white line get shorter the less battery % is left? If yes it's probably the described issue and you should look into the options of apps you installed.
Yeah that's it. I had one UI mod for this but I explicitly changed it to "hide".
But it seems like in the settings the options to enable and disable are flipped (hide = enable) and since my cover obstructed the last line of my screen it took a few weeks until I noticed it.
