I've been having a ?Bug? where sometimes after playing a game with immersive support the top 1/10th of the touch screen stops working. Turning the screen off and on again makes it work again.
Another thing I notice is that comparing to the 2013 version, and using the same brand screen protector (pet) my Capacitive gloves just don't work, while in the 2013 version (and every other device I tried them on) they work perfectly
Is that a know bug or an hardware problem?
Touch gloves not working on moto g 2014
I was hoping someone would answer you, but either this isn't a problem for most people (they probably don't live up north like me) or nobody has an answer. So I'll at least confirm the touch glove thing is a problem for me too.
My touch gloves that work great on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Motorola Razr don't work at all on my Moto G 2014. At first I thought it was my screen protector, but when I removed it in preparation for replacing it with a different one, I found my gloves don't work on the native glass of my Moto G 2014. Can anyone answer, are they using a different technology that doesn't work with touch gloves, or only with certain types of touch gloves, and how could I know if gloves I'm ordering will work or not? Did you find an answer from your earlier searches, sudoetse?

I'm fustrated with N1's touchscreen, it is sometimes a pain to use. Most of the time it works just fine, on other times, either touch input is not registering or the X/Y coordinates is off! Playing touch intensive games sometimes "hang" the touchscreen. Turning off the screen and back on always fix the problem.
Is it possible to replace the touch screen sensor with from a recent phone of the same screen size? E.g. desire S?
It's impossible, because a different touchscreen requires a different drivers
look into the desire forum i hear the two phones have very simular hardware.or buy the latest model nexus1 touchscreen. my n1 was brought new recently and the only problem i recieve is multi touch with games at times.

i did look into that, HTC Desire uses the same crappy clearpad 2000 touchscreen.
The only solution is a new phone, nothing you can do about it.
Well, if I'm not mistaken, you should be able to buy the new Super LCD in the Nexus One after Google stopped selling them. I'm not sure how to obtain one, but I bet you could easily modify your N1 with the screen of the newer N1. Or hell, just buy the new Nexus One altogether, and you'll be okay. Though I don't know how well it works (Or if it works at all) in the US.
Panel != Digitizer
SLCD and AMOLED both have faulty digitzers so the problems are the same for both.

I've seed third party digitizer parts for nexus one on the net, are these any better? Would love to hear from people who had replaced their digitizer.

I think that doesn't make any difference, both the SLCD and AMOLED screen uses the same clearpad 2000 digitizers
I can confirm that the SLCD doesn't do sh!t to fix the digitizer problem. I have an SLCD model and have to fight frequent urges to destroy the phone against a hard object.
Previously I had an Incredible, but recently switched to the N1 because it was cheap and easy to obtain them fully unlocked and I'll be spending the next couple of years on the road in GSM countries. The Incredible's keyboard was not even comparable to the N1 keyboard -- though with Sense ROMs it had its own share of annoying issues.
Ironically, it seems that the N1 keyboard runs OK if using HTC software for it (search for HTC_IME), particularly when compared to the native keyboard in Gingerbread. On the Incredible side of things, it was the opposite -- ran like butt on Sense ROMs, but very smoothly on AOSP Gingerbread. Go figure.
With the variety of device manufacturers out there using different hardware components, a big part of me wishes that Google recreated Android as a display manager sitting atop a standard Linux install. That way we could just drop into a shell, mess with some driver source code, and watch it fail miserably when we tried to compile it.
So, has anyone tried a stylus on it? Mainly something like the Dagi ones, so as to use the tablet in a more classroom note taking thing ...

I bought a "Wacom Bamboo Stylus Duo 2gen - CS-150" specifically for this tablet before I was handed the Z2.
Unusable, poor feedback and needs a high pressure.
On my smartphone Xperia Z C6603 working correctly.
Maybe it depends on the absence of a screen protector or the bug already reported by other users here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2712388
I bought the Bamboo solo and I've had the same problem, for some reason you have to press down quite hard, I'm worried it may be because the touch resolution is really low, which would be disappointing.
Dagi
Well, I've ordered the Dagi p505, It should arrive mid next week, I'll post after trying it
The touchscreen has issues on this tablet. Don't blame the stylus. Hopefully, the issues are only software/driver based and can be fixed with an update.
I seem to remember a few different sources citing 'pen stylus input' which is the same as the tech on the Z Ultra, meaning even fine pointed conductive objects can be used as a stylus. I think Sony have stopped advertising this though, maybe because they realised the issue with the touch digitiser is HW based or maybe they just want to fix the FW first.
Either way, something is wrong, at least for now.

On the Sony forums, in a thread where we could ask anything about the tablet they specifically stated that it would not have pen input. Of course this could just be some customer service guy that doesn't know the details but he very specifically said it wouldn't be available on this tablet.
Just got a Wacom Bamboo Stylus too, completely unusable.
Hopefully we'll get a fix/mod soon. This is pretty pathetic and embarrassing for a tablet of this proportion.
Dagi p505 Works!
So, my DAGI p505 just arrived, I tried it and it works! since it arrived after the screen protector I only tried them both together, and there's a slight delay between the point and the paint (I used the brush atock app), but its perfectly drawable and and I reckon it might even be writeable with the right app

I bought in Portugal in April and it's all stock, it never updated
Model SGP511
Kernel 3.4.0-perf-g46a79a0
Compilation 17.1.A.2.36
Hope this answers your question
Anyone tried using ES22 Sony stylus on Xperia Tablet Z2 ou even on Z2 smartphone ??? it would be nice if this stylus works on Z2 devices
Tried it, and Es22 stylus from sony does NOT work with the z2 tablet... (SGP512, .36 firmware).
Homemade stylus with aluminium does not work either... Even if correctly working with my other devices...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Free mobile app
Every Stylus I tried is working extremely bad with this device! And I haven't had any touchscreen problems...

Our "Targus" stylus seems to work OK. But not perfect. But otherwise, without stylus, the screen is nicely responsive.
Hi all,
Anybody tested new.402 firmware with bamboo Solo stylus?
I've a rooted device and still looking for a method to update
Has anybody with a rooted Z2 Tablet tried the Z1 any pencil input hack?
I suspect a little bit of playing other than just the line of code suggested may be necessary.

It's a lot better. Not perfect though.
Sony included the software tweak with the Z2 but not the Z2 Tablet, which is strange.
I contacted Sony who confirmed there is no ES22 support with no future plans to include it.
So anybody tested other stylus with last Z2 firmware?
I've a Bamboo solo and it's useless; at the moment the only product that "seems" to work properly is the "Dagi P505" (but unavailable in Europe).
Any test with Samsung Galaxy S-Pen?
Thanks.
Marco
I've tested the adonit jot pro and the bamboo stylus. The jot pro works very well. It looks really similar to the dagi stylus, but is available also in Europe... The bamboo stylus is useless.

Moto G 2014 (XT1068) works totally with Google Cardboard?
I am waiting for my cardboard deliver then I will tell you it work or not.I thing everything should work but magnet doesnt work.
For me is almost unusable... :crying:
http: //youtu.be/mMzN6GIEtjs
My cardboard arrived and I am right magnet does not work
Magnet makes my phone screen locked ?
The magnet is in the wrong place, but if you get one of the newer cardboard kits (designed to be fully compatible with an iPhone as well), they have a touch button as well as the magnet.
The gyroscope is very bad in Lolipop, but Motorolla have fixed it in Marshmallow. Mine works brilliantly.
Can anyone tell me if the air pressure sensor still work after the Lollipop 5.1 OTA?
Today I just found out all apps report that my phone doesn't have a air pressure sensor. I tried these apps on my Moto X Gen.1, they all work.
Did the OTA break it or it's my sensor failed?
This is the 2nd gen form, I've never heard our device has this sensor, are you sure, are you worked before?

Air pressure sensor (Barometer) has become standard on Android devices since Honeycomb.
The specs on GSM Arena shows there is barometer on Moto X 2014

Oh I got it now, I had never know most of the Android devices are equipped this sensor, so I just tried to installed a barometer app on my latest version of CM12.1, however it reports no sensor detected.
No sensor detected for me on 5.1 either. I never tried to use it before, though. So I don't know if it ever worked before 5.1 or not...
My friend have just bought a Moto X 2014 At&t variant with Lollipop 5.1 installed in it. I noticed a weird thing. On its display, it has water mark of Motorola logo and and some other Text and Icons. A screen shot is also attached. I have searched over internet and unable to find the solution.
Any body know why is that so as another friend told me that it is a sample unit and its display (Panel) has these watermarkings.

Yes, that's probably screen burn-in. It's a very common problem for oleds. There's no solution, it's a problem with how these screens work.
If it's a new phone, I'd suggest he returned it.
