my otg stopped working.
i went to wipe my phone with superwipe.zip from my otg in recovery twrp 2.8.0.1 i was able to access the usb thru otg. when i rebooted the recovery now the otg will not be seen in either recovery mode or in the actual rom its self. i have tried different cables and usb drives to see if that was the problem. still nothing...
anyone have any ideas or solutions to fix this problem?

Im not sure what happened but my USB OTG cable and flash drive stopped working. One night I restored from MIUI to ARHD 12.3 and plugged the phone in to charge. I woke up the next day to find that my recovery will no longer mount my usb otg. I reflashed recovery from fastboot, made sure my usb drive was good in the computer, and tried to see if the phone can see the drive when its turned on (it comes up and tells me its the wrong kind of "Charger" as if it were a charger and not a usb device).
Anyone have any suggestions of what could have happened or how to fix it? I need my backups to work again! lol
Hi, My HTC one is not recognizing USB over OTG. My first suspect was OTG cable itself, but it is working fine with Xperia,Nexus and even Xiaomi.
My HTC is S-off, unlocked rooted, Sense 6 with toolbox installed with stock 4.4.2 and build 5.11.401.10 . Then I flashed elementalX 3.4.1 -14.12 which I was anyway wanted to do. All working fine except OTG. I tried USB stick mount and OTG helper they are not detecting any drives to mount. I can see the usb led light is not blinking when I am connecting to HTC one. It cant even detect usb even in recovery (twrp 2.6.3 which I now upgraded to 2.8 but still no success )
Please help to resolve this issue, i am not able to pinpoint the root cause. Its first time that I am trying OTG. I tried even looking into android.hardware.usb.host and handheld_ core_hardware.xml but not sure what to do.
Please help
No replies yet I seek help from htc experts. Search across forums has not resulted in any success. I have anyway upgraded from stock to elemental kernel and from twrp 2.6.3.3 to 2.8, but still stick mount is not detecting Any drives. How to conclude if it is a hardware bug or software mods can enable it.?

Well assuming your mounting it in Settings>Storage>Mount USB storage.
This needs to be done each time you connect the OTG/USB
And the same when in TWRP select Mounts then Internal Storage at the bottom of the screen and select OTG to mount it.
I don't know what else to suggest. I use OTG without any problems when in Android os and recovery. Never had to modify anything settings wise. Just mount the device manually through setting and it works. If your cable works with other phones what about the usb stick. Maybe backup the contents and format it with a fresh fat32 file system and try it again.

So today i unplug my phone from my charger, then i wanted to transfer files via USB OTG. So i immediately plug in my usb otg and my pendrive(cuz pc cant detect my phone due to usb problem), sadly it wont work (got usb host mode). then i download latest elementalx kernel (18.0) and flashed it. after that, i immediately go charge my phone, nothing happened. no usb host mode bug, no landscape mode.
then, i entered fastboot while charging my phone, it only display fastboot instead of fastboot usb and its not charging. Tried reinstall rom (ARHD81.0) three time, one of them it will charge after boot, but NOT anymore after i entered fastboot. Tried wipe system and cache, still not charging. Only will charge when powered off and in recovery mode. Help! Some of my friend told me that my battery is dying, isit true?
Just now tried to use usb otg, the phone powered up the device that connect to usb otg. Guess it straight went into usb host mode when boot. Any fix?
Long time ago, my phone had the usb host mode problem when plug in into pc, but can charge at OS. So i didn't bother it because it still can transfer files to PC via USB OTG.
Last month, itself random went into usb host mode when charging and the phone totally cant charge, need to restart then its ok. When i go into fastboot it shows FASTBOOT AC and then FASTBOOT randomly (like gotten shock) and after awhile the problem gone so i didnt bother about it.
Last week, I unplug my phone after i wake up and then itself shows USB HOST MODE, so i tried connect USB OTG and then it didn't works. I thought it was kernel problem so I downloaded ElementalX 18.2 and then i flashed it. Now, after boot, the phone wont charge. It only charge when powered off and RECOVERY mode. Fastboot shows no sign, no FASTBOOT AC or USB, even OTG power. This is strange and weird.
Also, i flashed ARHD 81.0 at older version of TWRP Recovery, and then after i got that problem, i reflash my phone with TWRP 2.8.0.2, at the end it says : "set_metadata_recursive some changes failed" , and the phone can't boot. Luckily i got a nandroid of it so i flash it immediately. It can boot, but the no charging problems still exist.
I later upgrade my TWRP to 2.8.3.0 via TWRP Manager, still get "set_metadata_recursive some changes failed" problem. But, I found out that after i flash the rom, then flash nandroid, when i boot into OS with charging, it can charge in the OS, but not anymore after i went into fastboot or recovery.
And something interesting is, when the phone boot, haven't load the drivers, itself began OTG mode and powered up my powerbank, PLEASE HELP!! Im totally stuck on this!
Does this is a hardware or software problem? Its this the USB board broken or the motherboard? Please respond..
Sorry for my bad English.
Hi all,
I know there are lots of similar topics but this is a little bit strange because I can't use adb and usb also.
Device rooted and TWRP 2.6.3.3 installed. I tried in different computers and cables but computers do not recognise phone. It just boots TWRP. Is there any way to copy files in the phone without usb and adb?
I have replaced usb port a couple months ago due to charging problem, now charging ok but pc doesn't recognise and says "unknown device".

why not?
you could look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52135024&postcount=2
also here for usb-otg: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61449330&postcount=23
see if any of those work
or just flash a newer TWRP and use MTP transfer
twrp has usb mtp function
enable it
I changed usb socket. Now I'm able to connect phone but it only charges when phone off.
