So they're rolling out across the board pretty much immediately, it would appear. Moto are going to have a busy support team right before the Christmas break!

You need a not-touched rom! No difference between unlocked or locked bootloader!

Yes, I tried it on a unlocked Moto G and it still get the 4.4.4 update from 4.4.2 so i think it's the same on this device! Also on google's devices!

wait and see
I wouldn't rush into getting the update , wait a few weeks and see if it gets good reviews .
The Galaxy s3 update made the phone unusable for a long time until they released a patch for it , So i'll take my time before updating this one

jcase is responsible for the last root exploit. He has stated multiple times that he is not working on another one at the moment.

It has been hinted around that those working on root exploits are saving the exploits for major updates, i.e. 4.3 and so forth.

Yes. DEV. Is really slow. I had just gotten into xposed framework though and had some cool stuff going. And now just stock unrooted moto goodness.

Yea, such a disappointment. I went stock and it's so much snappier. Battery isn't as good but I think it's worth it.

Yup same problem here, I havent taken the recent OTA. could this be the case?
I got the update on Verizon. Edit: Yes, I have the most recent OTA.
I wonder what this means in terms of photo quality. I'm sure some factors are going to be limited by firmware updates but I'm hoping things like saturation and exposure can be changed through the apk. Or, maybe they'll update the apk to actually allow for user controlled exposure.
are you rooted in any way?
Downloaded and installed on MotoX AT&T...
Cant see improvements...

Verizon KitKat upgrade root or not?

So the internet says the kk update is out for Verizon, but the check update setting can't find it yet. Do I need to return to stock to get it? Has it not pushed to my area yet? What do I need to do to get it?

Are you on Verizon? The only reason I can think of that you are getting an OTA update notification is if Google is trying to update you to NGI77B, which is Verizon specific.
