[Q] Disable snooze? - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to disable the snooze feature on the stock clock app? Or a way to wave to dismiss (not snooze) the alarm?
If not, are there any apps that can let me wave to dismiss an alarm? It seems like a waste to not use that awesome feature on the 2nd gen Moto X.

[Q] Voice Controlled Alarm?

It's there a way I can have a voice controlled alarm like on my previous Galaxy S4?
Being able to snooze by saying "snooze" instead of reaching out of my bed was an excellent feature that I miss!
Thanks.

Possible to use Tasker with Active Display?

I posted this in the Themes and Apps subforum a week ago and got no responses. I was wondering if anyone proficient at Tasker knows how to modify Active Display/Notifications.
For instance, is it possible to use Tasker to dictate what notifications will show up on Active Display depending on the time of day? So, when I'm at work, I'd like to disable (i.e., uncheck) all corporate email notifications (but only as they appear in Active Display) since I get those notifications on my PC anyway. If not, maybe I need to just disable corporate email notifications globally during that period of time, which would be a less desirable solution.
I could be wrong, but I think Tasker can only do something like that if the app is setup as a plugin to work with Tasker.
There very well may be an easier/better way to do it, but if you're rooted you can run shell commands to simulate touch input on the device. You could have a task to open the Active Notifications settings, and simulate the input of tapping the checkboxes you wanted to enable/disable, and run different tasks to set/remove them based on time/location/etc.
Like I said, there may be an easier way that I am not aware of, but that comes to mind.

thats actually a genius idea...unsure if we can change the active notification setting, but maybe use tasker to clear the notification from the status bar then maybe bring it back (or a tasker notification with smiliar messaging) about the skipped notification on unlock.

Well it could definitely toggle the setting. I've used it to run some actions within apps before (apps that I wanted to "manually" sync on a specific schedule. You define the shell commands as:
Code:
input tap X Y
or
input swipe X1 Y1 X2 Y2
So you'd launch "settings", find the coordinates of the Active Display button, set it to tap there, find and set the coords for "manage notification types", and the associated apps. This could be tough if you add/remove apps a lot, because the coordinates would change if a new app falls in the list ahead of one you have setup to use this method, but it would work.
You could also fire a notification from Tasker when the task is executed to tell you that the selected apps are behind hidden.
This is exactly what I wanted. How and where can I input this shell command? And how can I find the coordinates?

[Q] Customize Lockscreen?

Just got the Moto X from Verizon (white/bamboo), but having come from an S3, I can't figure out if there is a way in which to customize the lockscreen so that I can see weather and other information simply by touching/waving my hand over the screen without having to unlock the phone? Any advice is greatly appreciate.
You need to turn on Enable widgets. The option is in Settings -> Security.
After that on the lock screen, swipe downward on the clock widget, it will expand it to fullscreen. Then you can tap and hold on the clock to drag and remove it. After that, it will let you add other widgets. You can swipe to the right go to a second page and add more widgets.
I believe that the OP wants to see the info on the active display screen, not the lockscreen.
If it is the same as toe 2013 X you can go to settings and choose which apps you want to see notifications from on the active display.
Only notifications can be displayed on the active display, not widgets.
Waving your hand over the phone activates the active display.

Lollipop 5.0.1 Tips

I figured I'd start a thread to share tips and tricks moving over to LP 5.0.1
Haven't found a way to add icons to Lock Screen other then Call & Camera yet BUT..
If your like me and really don't like the use of LP's Home button I downloaded "Screen Off and Unlock" from play store, now when I press and hold Home the screen goes off/sleep, it still goes to Google Now if you double hit Home...
1) If you want to use Do Not Disturb (DND), setting the toggle to on will keep DND on all the time. Setting just a schedule (and keeping the toggle off) will only activate DND during the scheduled time.
Alternatively, you can use the app called Do Not Disturb, which, IMO, works better than the default one. Plus, you can set multiple schedules!
2) if you're like me and hate how the new lockscreen notifications show everything that appears in your notification panel, and only shows the first 2 notifications (before you have to expand them all), then look at NiLS on Play. It mimics the LP lockscreen notifications, but you can choose what notifications to show or hide. And you can theme them too.

Question Moto Edge 20 Fusion | How do we get Double Tap to Wake?

I know Moto has 'Peek Display' but that just keeps waking the phone at the slightest of movements and there's no option to disable motion sensing for it.
Is there a way to get the old school double tap to wake feature that'll show me the lock-screen or some way to make the phone light up when there are new notifications?
In the meanwhile, here's an app that will at least light up your phone when there are new notifications without peek display enabled: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_IN&gl=US
