Stickmount
OTG works out of the box. I've used a USB audio adapter, a USB ethernet adapter, and a USB memory stick.
I had to install another app to mount the USB storage though. I used Nexus Media Importer; works a treat.
perfect, thx everybody.
Waitting for a kernell that will be able to work with usb otg without any app, but now with root no problems

I have an OTG cable, specifically for the P1000, and a simple USB stick will not mount.
I also am trying to mount a USB 3 drive, so not sure if that won't work because of drivers or lack-thereof.
I have a y-cable for the USB 3 drive, and it still will not mount.
I have Cyanogenmod 10.1 running Android 4.2.2
Any suggestions?

Anyone able to help? I'd really appreciate it.
Me too have same problem....
I've been trying to use an OTG cable on my Razr I XT890, Intel precessor, without any success. I've already rooted, installed a Busybox, I have an Y OTG cable and a powered USB hub. I've been trying to mount some mass storage devices such as pendrives and HD with both FAT32 and NTFS. I'm using the USB OTG Helper, but stil I keep receiving the same message wich reports a lack of drives such as S3C.
Does anybody have any idea of what should be done?
Does anyone know how to get OTG working on Razr I?

Have you tried another cable?
Sent from my XT890 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I was trying the new version of stickmount to see if I could use it to mount my ntfs drive and was trying out workarounds when I came across a post recommending the use of usb host fix. I ran the app, restarted as directed and voila! Now nothing shows up when I connect my otg cable. I've tried my fat32 hdd which was working fine and a card reader and nothing!
I'd moved from 4.1.2 to the stock german 4.3 rom on my rooted I9305 and paragon's ntfs app would no longer mount my drive so I decided I'd check to see if there was anything else I could do before wiping 900gb's of data and formatting it to fat32. Now I wish I had!
I've contacted the dev and tried chainfire's usb diagnostic app as well as usb host controller - which stated S3C usb host driver not found.
Please let me know your suggestions as I desperately need to be able to connect via my otg cable - my phone has taken the place of my netbook when i travel so that I can backup my photo's and transfer music and movies from my hdd's to the phone. I'm heading out to South America and REALLY need this function back!
i cant connect to my hard disk with touchpad. İ have otg cable but it doesnt see my hard disk . please help . i want to see hard disk with my hp touchpad
You will need to connect to a PC to transfer files. I've never heard of connecting a drive directly. I don't think the USB port is powered!

A. Don't use an otg cable, use a standard micro usb
B. In order to have the PC recognize the TP, you have to Novacom usb drivers installed
C. You can connect many usb devices, including hard disks, but you may need a powered usb hub since the TP doesn't provide enough power to drive many of them

Yup. It makes perfect sense.
I haven't tried to connect a flash drive to my Mi3 yet. Just want to know how it's done and do I need an app or something? I also want to try connecting my 1t external hard disk, is it possible? how?
Thanks!
Yes, it's possible to connect flash drive and it works perfectly with MIUI file manager. But if you want to connect external drive you will need charging cable for drive. And MHL cable (MicroUSB -> HDMI) not working here (It makes me unhappy).
