[Q] Issues taking pictures in low light - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Q&A, Help & Troublesh

Trying to figure out it I have an issue with my phone or I am simply missing something somewhere. When I try to take a picture with my Turbo in low light, the flash comes on, it focuses and then the flash turns off right before the picture is captured leaving me with a completely black picture. I have changed various setting (HDR, changing the Flash between Auto and On, etc) with no luck. Has anyone else had this issue?

[Q] Two modes camera flash

Here's my question, is there a way, to make the camera flash to use the normal light, and not the bright, when taking a picture, but in the same time, if a select it, to use the bright. It'll be usefull, because the bright flash makes things blurry or too bright when shooting from a close distance. If a want to take a picture of a business card (for OCR) I have to use separate light source, because the flash is too bright and makes it unreadable, and the normal flash is enaugh for the purpouse.
I too was interested in this idea about a month back. It would be very useful to take the photo with the standard flash light rather than the super bright flash. As it is this level that you focus the photo and expect it to be at, only to sadly recieve a horribly over flashed photo.
agreed...^^
What would really be awesome with the camera would be the ability to disable the light sensor. That way, in low light the FPS doesnt go to crap leaving us with blurry pictures. Also, the flash doing what a real flash does, being flash instead of stay on...
As for the normal light and not bright, hTorch has a toggle to go between both, we just need to see if there is a reg key or something to just enable the light without it going to bright mode for the actual shot.
There are a few other threads that talk about the camera reg settings, i just forget where.

Green vertical line when switching off the display

Hello everybody, I have the following "visual effect". It happens roughly 50% of the times the display switches off. It doesn't matter if it is by it self, by the power button or by a software button. In the very moment when the display switches off, a greenish dot in the center of the display flicks for a split second, along with a same color vertical line trough the whole screen. Obviously it is not supposed to be this way Beside this issue, there is no other problems with the display or the phone( for now). What do you think about this? Thanks in advance
Sounds like a screen off CRT effect, check you tube to see if that is your problem
Isn't the CRT effect a horizontal white line ending up in a dot?
I genuinely think the OP's screen may be defective...
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
do a lcd test and check if all pixels are working ok
Unfortunately it is not a CRT effect, although it looks a bit like it. The difference is, that the line and the dot( little spot) appear simultaneously for a fraction of a second. In a daylight it is hard to see it, even more it happens just 50% of the times, but not every other time. Its somewhat random.
The *#0*# test do not show much. No dead pixels. On blue you cant see anything, on green and red I think I see a little bit darker spot in the center of the screen( where the dot/spot appears), but there are such darker sports and elsewhere on the screen.
BTW, I noticed recently, that when the screens dims a bit shortly before switching off, this dimming happens not so smooth. How should I say it... it happens on a several steps, although the whole thing is done in less then a second, it is not so fluid. Is it supposed to be this way?
Thanks for your help guys
have u tried flashing a different rom stock
I am on the latest German stock 4.0.4, tried several others, including 2.3.6. .Currently with Hydra kernel. No difference whatsoever. I think the auto-brightness doesnt work so good. When set on fixed value it dims more fluidly.
if u on stock rom and not rooted then take it to a service center

Image sensor Issues causing Camera Noise

Anyone else having a problem like this I assume its the image sensor. In more than half of my pics and almost all my videos I have lots of noise usually green colors sometimes red but mostly green. Seems when the camera focuses it appears more or if you zoom in then back out you see the green specs. I can see it happening on the screen before I even take the pics. I've tried HRD on and off other settings and even other camera apps. I still have this issue is this something I need to send the camera back to Motorolla for and wait at least 3 weeks for a replacement?

No camera

Hi i'm using radium rom marshmallow and i have an issue where i'm unnable to use the camera, everything else is working and I actually tried with different roms is there something i messed up? and if so does anybody know a solution to this issue?

doubt front flash

Hiiii.
I have a doubt, why when I put the front camera and put the flash in automatic, it lights up like a flashlight? I thought I lit when I took the picture. Is there a method to activate it only when I press the button to take a picture?
As far as I can tell, it lights up when it detects there's not enough light. Try it. When it detects light, flash is on. But when it doesn't, for example when you point it towards a lamp, it turns off.
I think that's intended, in many cases the front flash can ruin a photo depending on surrounding lighting. If it's always turned on you can preview what your photo will look like with actual light.
