Noob question for ROM - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok guys, I am new here. I know how to do this stuff but I am unsure about which ROM I need. Here is my issue: I flashed a cyanogenmod ROM to my wifes 1st gen Kidle fire and everything was good except the brightness slider was non existent.
What is the best, most recent closest ROM to KitKat that is the most stable and is not missing any functions (a link would be great)? I also need the gapps to be included.
THANKS SO MUCH FOLKS!!!

Need help understanding Kernels and ROMs

Hello Forum,
I am very new to rooting devices and installing custom ROMs.
I have a few questions I would like to ask, I searched the forum and couldn't find appropriate answers.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399 (This being one of the threads)
I was going through the sticky thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789397
Which says, "WARNING: Do NOT use CM9, Asylum CM9 or AniDroid kernels as drivers on ANY CM10 based Rom - and vice-versa!"
I had recently flashed CM9.1 on my galaxy note GT-N7000, by following the instructions mentioned on their wiki page.
Just installed clock work recovery, entered the recovery mode, did a WIPE & installed CM9.1 & google apps.
After a few days I followed the same procedure and flashed CM10's latest preview. It went well and everything seems to be working, except that
the phone is a tad bit laggy and doesn't really deliver what JB is supposed to deliver. Sometime the power button won't wake the screen up.
This can be because CM10 is still in preview stage and the stable release is not out. But now that thread I mentioned before kind of bothers me.
Do I need to update the kernel while switching from CM9 to CM10? Downloads are available in the same thread. Or does the kernel update on its own while flashing CM10? And if I have to update the kernel do I need to have CF-Root? Does the fact that I have clock work recovery on my device mean that I have CF-Root?
Sorry if my question is too noob-ish, I just wan't to know a little theory behind what I'm doing so I don't screw my device. None of the threads that I found in the search explain things simply. I would be really glad if anyone of you could help me just understand things. I really appreciate this community for having put up so much information, thanks in advance!

[Q] bluetooth

Just registered today but been reading the threads, I managed to install [ROM][4.3][13/08] EternityProject's CyanogenMod 10.2 for LG Optimus 4X HD
I went from upgrading the stock ICS to stock jellybean, I wasnt happy with the battery performance, so I rooted the phone on jellybean, unlocked the bootloader and installed the mention custom rom. Been using it and it works pretty, there were some random crashes with the launcher b ut after using another launcher it is pretty solid rom. So thanks to the dev and the great testers for feedback here.
The only thing that does not seem to work is bluetooth, I cant seem to pair the phone with my LG soundbar at home.. Bluetooth on stock ics and jellybean both worked fine....Is there anything I can do to resolve this?
Cheers

Please post in the QandA thread next time you have any queries bro! It's annoying some of the users a little now.
However, the 4.3 Rom you have flashed is still in Alpha Stages, it will have many bugs and i do believe Bluetooth is one of them, you will need to flash a more stable rom such as magic rom which is stock based so you can be sure 100% stability, or you can flash a 4.2.2 Rom with a 4.2.2 Kernel which should straighten it out for you!
Should be posted here in Q&A in the future! http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1651

ok cheers pal, I didnt really want to ask any questions as everthing is answered, thats how I managed to install the rom in the first place, searching through the forum.I did see some people had BT issues with the rom,
Forgive my ignorance still kind of new to flashing roms although I do flash my advent vega with your friends in tabletroms. Some good devs there...which kernel would you choice to use with that rom?
Ignore, misread the question

[Q] About Kernel

Hi, I'm practically new to this, last week was the first time I flashed a custom rom on my phone, CM 10.1.3 RC2, and now I'm just curious about Kernel, first of all I'm not realy sure what is it, should I change it or something to make my phone run smoother? Can you recommend me one then?
I know those questions may have been stupid for you guys but thanks anyway
You should probably read an FAQ for Android to understand what a Kernel is and what it does.
For now just stay with the standard CM kernel and read about what you can do with your new custom ROM.
And do nandroid backups (if you don't know what that means, search and read).
I know that those kind of answers are not likely those you want to get, but you will learn so much more if you read everything you can find.
I rarely post any questions here because I read everything and try to sort things out for myself

[Q] Suggestions for ROM that fits simple criteria

Picked up an i9305 today, installed official 3000mah battery, rooted, installed CWM, backed up IMEI, and spent hours and hours flashing and trying ROMs. So far, I've tested a lot of nice ROMs, but nothing that quite fits what I want. On my S II that I currently use I use Chameleon ROM, and I was kinda hoping for something like that on the i9305.
My preferences are:
Android 4.1.2 (or above if necessary)
AOSP looks
Stable as can be, preferably not something that needs updates all the time
NFC with screen locked/off
Any suggestions?
What rom best rom posts are not allowed .
You cab read the roms descriptions and try them all
You've probably already been here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2206898
It lists them all

Jellybean ROM with first/older PIE (from ParanoidAndroid)

Hi guys,
I'm trying to find very, VERY old rom, no matter if clean ParanoidAndroid (not newer than 3.99 I hope) or P.A.C. rom, that includes very old PIE, Hybrid settings and HALO))).
I want to go back in time and feel a bit nostalgic, I need just working link for m7 rom. Thank you guys for any help! :crying:
The only things I can think of right off the top of my head that would for sure have download links is CyanogenMod 10, they are still up and running. Otherwise it might be hit and miss
