[Q] Bad Radio Flash? No Sound During Calls - Please Help! - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys -
I've had an HTC One (M7) for a few months now after being an iPhone fanboy for years. I'm into tech and wanted to give Android a shot. I enjoyed the jailbreaking community with Apple products so was happy to see how much more open Android is! Since I've had the phone, I've tried a few different ROMs and at one point know I messed up the radio but eventually got it back up.
A couple of days ago, I tried making a call and I couldn't hear the phone ring even though connected and the other person couldn't hear me. I hadn't flashed anything or made any changes besides app installs during that time. Sometimes, I think the other person can hear me, but I can never hear them. Due to radio issues in past, I'm pretty sure it's the cause but there are so many versions of radios, I don't know which to use!
How I've Tried to Fix So Far
- I currently run ViperOne 7.01 ROM. I tried resetting things by performing the below steps:
1. Updated TWRP
2. Installed Guru Reset M7_5.12.502.2
3. Installed ViperOne 7.01, choose to wipe, and believe choose to flash back to stock radio
One all the above was complete and the phone booted, I saw that my files were still there (it wasn't a complete reset) and I still had root. The OS was wiped so I had to set everything up again. When I tried to make a call - I still had the same issue!
So - what radio (or other firmware(s)) should I flash / install to hopefully repair this thing? I don't care what it may wipe as long as I can make calls.
Phone's Current Specs:
- HTC One (M7)
- AT&T - USA (Tennessee)
- Android 4.4.3 via ViperOne 7.01
- Kernel - 3.4.10-g40b189c
- Baseband 4M.27.3218.14_10.37.1718.01L
- Build - 6.09.401.5 CL366813

there are lots of threads discussing this problem already, but to save you messing with firmware and radio's etc the problem is the latest google play services update.
To fix it, remove the update or clear cache and data for google play services , and google play store in your app settings

[Q] Bluetooth not working on InsertCoin 5.0-3 / HTC ONE M7WLS

Hello, I just installed 5.0-3 and my Bluetooth is not working. I’m just wondering before I softbrick my phone again if this is what I should do to fix it.
I read on another forum post that I need to pull the boot.img out of the zip and flash it from fast boot. This was the trick on an HTC desire, but didn’t work so well for me last night.
Yesterday I tried this on my Sprint HTC ONE M7WLS stock root running 1.31.651.2, BT worked fine. Then I flashed 4.0-4and bluetooth did not work. It would pair, and when I would open my Motorola 720 running BT 2.1 EDR and hear this beep like it always would, but no audio would come through. If I switched in the middle of a test call to speaker audio would be fine. Switch back to BT and nothing.
I downloaded Insertcoin 5.0-3 thinking that might be what I need to fix the BT and I wanted the Sense 5.5 updates. Flashed it from TWRP 2.6.3.0, did the wipe from inside the insert coin installer and BT did not work. I did see the Sense 5.5 updates, but it was odd that the software version still said 4.0-4 even though I thought I selected full install and not update.
So fast forward I found on a thread that I needed to boot to the bootloader and run
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
This was to fix WiFi and BT errors. WiFi was working great for me, but not BT. This sent me into a boot loop (I think that’s what it’s called when just boots to the ROM’s splash screen and reboots). I had to sideload 5.0-3 several times before redownloading the ROM zip and sideloading it worked. It seemed like I would get the Sense crashes and I know the ROM just came out a few days ago so there might be some bugs.
I’ve read through the FAQ (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228274 ) here which said disable the wifi, no go.
Another thread suggests fixing the permissions of the Bluetooth.apk, but an ls –lah shows rw-r--r—which is what this page (http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-setfix-file-permissions-on-android-devices-a-beginners-guide/ ) suggests are the correct permissions.
I’ve searched through this forum for Bluetooth and haven’t found anything else relevant, unless I’m missing something.
Anyway, before I go through that today is flashing the boot with the boot.img is the thing that I should be doing to fix my Bluetooth? Should I go back to 4.0-4 since it seemed more stable, though everything is 5.0-3 seems to be working well enough? Or should I buy a new headset because this one is possibly old and incompatible?

i think its a known bug that Baadnewz is currently working on. Get on his SVN updates to find the latest changes.

I didn't find it in the SVN info, but I do see on the 5.0-5 it says BT issues fixed. Thank you for the response.

[Q] Various Issues - Tried different ROMs but issues remain

Hi guys,
this is gonna be a long story, but I'm at end of my wits.
So my phone (HTC One M7_UL Vodafone DE) got water damaged (it was submerged in water for at least a minute). I tested it again last weekend and it seemed to work in terms of hardware. I managed to test the speakers, the charge jack, the headphones jack, wifi, gsm, both cameras, etc. it all seems to work fine, and it's not about that anyways. I kept getting a "com.htc.htcdialer" issue, saying the process had unexpectedly crashed and then a few minutes later the phone would reboot. I tried finding out what this error was and how to fix it but I couldnt find anything. Also its weird that I got a software error.
So I unlocked the bootloader (via htcdev.com), flashed the latest recovery (I tried both cwm and twrp), which was also fine. I managed to install the latest Android Revolutions HD (53.0) and thats where the problems started again: I would get to the lock screen but as soon as I would swipe up to unlock it I would the white screen with the HTC letters on it. I tried wiiping all the cache and partitions i could find and reinstalled that rom, but the problem remained the same. Tried a different recovery (twrp) repeated all the steps and still no more luck than before.
So I decided to give a different rom a try and just flashed the latest stable cyanogenmod rom on it, and that boots fine, but eventually without error message reboots as well.
Then I tried flashing the latest viper rom, but there I have the same issue as at the beginning, that I get as far as the lock screen and then it just wont let me unlock it.
And that's where Im at the end of my wits. I cant imagine its a hardware related issue, but i might be wrong.
Ideally I would love to get my hands on a nandroid backup to restore the phone to stock, a stock rom ruu, but I cant find any of those either.
I'd really appreciate your help.
Let me know if you need specific details of installations, versions, decide numbers, etc

[Q] Can't connect to mibile network or wifi cant make calls or send recieve texts

Ok Kinda long but want to cover everything:
So I rooted my htc one m8 (sprint) about 6 months ago I have twrp recovery and I flashed android revolution 8. A few months later I installed android revolution 11 no problems with it what so ever. A cpl days ago I tried to flash android revolution 22 but had no luck just kept boot looping and I lost everything on my phone after some research It seems I wouldnt be able to go to kit kat 4.4.4 without going back to stock rom so I relocked my bootloader ran rom utility updater and flashed it back to stock and reset up my phone tried to flash over to android revolution again after unlocking bootloader and all that good stuff still did not work so just decided to go back to stick 4.4.4 kept bootloader locked and didn't re root my phone didn't see much of a need to at this point could only seem to use stock but anyway after a day or so of phone running just fine well today it wont connect to my mobile network or wifi (can't make or receive phone calls can't send or receive texts and am unabke to get any internet on my phone wont even connect to wif) I have even restored the phone from original back-up that I had also tried 2 other back-ups of stock roms the phone is pretty much just an mp3 player at this point sprint said everything was fine on their end nothing they can do all the icons are there for 4g and wifi and such the phone shows me its connected to sprint shows signal strength and all that so I don't know whats wrong and don't think htc will help me since I rooted it hopefully some one here can i'm
well I must be screwed if over 300 views on my post and not reply well that's what I get I guess
As far as I know ARHD is not Sprint compatible so you probably messed up your partitions.
RUU will fix it.
Only flash roms that are in the Sprint section.
Apart from compatibility off ARHD to Sprint M8 ... There is also that dreaded HTC service pack that was released on 11th Dec which screwed the network n Wi-Fi on my phone (stock Rom)
First time itty happened due to auto update install via play store and started working after I did multiple attempts at cache delete through TWRP
2nd time even after researching and knowing the service pack was the culprit I thought I should try...ending up with factory reset...so do check it
If you too had that service pack installed
Btw even htc acknowledges the sh#@ this update is causing to the phones and wants to collect more data... I don't know if anything else can be called a legit rip off or not...

[Q] T-Mo US possible damaged radio or partition corruption; Baseband: Unknown

I was trying to post my post, but it was flagged and blocked by the system, probably because I kept previewing it, so until I can post it, I'm going to be really brief about the latest news on my problem.
I have a T-Mo US HTC One that's now S-Offed, running CWM recovery, and running 4.19.531.10 firmware+radio. It's running Android Revolution HD 91.1, and the first error from before I did any of this was "Failed to powerup external modem!" The phone would randomly reboot and such. Now, it's running normally except for the fact that I can't get the phone part of it to work. I also don't think I can warranty it because I already opened it up because I managed to break the back and also changed the frame color, screen, and camera. In the settings, Baseband read as "Unknown." I'm hoping you guys here can help me fix my problem as I hope it's software related, but think it might be hardware related.
Is there any hope for this? At one point, running the ElementalX kernel and the Android Revolution HD ROM with it still S-On and running latest Radio from 7.18.531.2, if I wiped dalvik cache and kept power saver off, the radio would start and it would work fine until I turned power saver on (even if the turn mobile network off part was off).

seems like you went to a lot of trouble for a $100 phone
you can find a decent replacement on eBay cheap
Meanwhile you can update your firmware to the latest it will match the rom that way
I'm a little reluctant to change anything now. I just finished flashing the ElementalX kernel and did a dalvik-cache wipe and the phone service is working again. Assuming it's just like before, power saver should cause it to fail again.
I'm busy now, so I'll do a nandroid backup when I can later and try the RUU for the firmware again. The RUU kept failing on me before and htc_fastboot.exe would crash. I don't know how to decrypt the rom zip to manually flash it.
Edit: Any idea why using the ElementalX Kernel and wiping Dalvik-Cache makes the radio work again? It seems relatively stable right now (Powersaver off, it's not very stable with it on).

Motorola G6 no sound during calls after flash

Hello,
I have a motorola G6 that after bad root get stuck on bootloop.
I flash the phone with two roms but the phone after flash dont have sound during calls, the earpice dont work even in loudspeaker, but the phone rings when is receving calls.
anyone already have this problem?

This question is probably in the wrong section but anyway...I did. I never checked the phone prior to rooting so I'm not sure if a "bad root" was the cause or not. However, I experienced the exact same problem as you. I was originally on build OPS27.82-19-4 so I reflashed stock OPS27.82-19-4 as described here. But I still had the same problem. On a whim I randomly flashed build OPS27.82-19-4 following the same instructions. The phone has been working great ever since (I have it rooted, xposed. etc...). Not sure why there was a problem, or if reflashing the newer build "fixed" it or not...but as I said, all is good now. FWIW, when I check the sim status in settings>about phone, the network section is blank. It was blank when I had problems too.
Perhaps this will help you..
PS When I reflashed the firmware, the phone would boot into fastboot mode, then when I selected "Start" it would boot to the OS. If you run into that, here is how it was fixed. See posts 5, 6, 7, & 8.
Good luck!
I had a similar problem, I did the root, TWRP, I ended up giving up and flash again on the stock of the bike G6 Play (Brazil) available here in XDA, to my surprise, he made and received calls normally, the speaker for music and connections of other applications (Whatsapp, Messenger, Hangouts, etc.), but it did not work for the rom dialer.
I thought I had a problem, it was when a system update appeared, I installed it and it worked again.
I figured it was some rom bug I installed.
Tanks for the help.
I solved the problem flashing the phone with flashrom.bat instead of put the comand one by one.

That's because a custom rom or GSI does not have all the necessary files. 99.9% of the time, flashing stock will fix a problem.
