Hello friends of XDA,
First, Merry Christmas to all of you!
I have problems with my internal sd card and with cwm after updating from Insertcoin 4.4.2 Sense to 5.0.1 GPE from Santod. Files which I've used for the update can not be deleted. I can delete them with a file manager or with my laptop but they keep coming back. Files not bigger than 0 kb.
Also, i can't find backups made with cwm. They are however stored, as I can see that after backupping my sd card is smaller at free space. I can make them, and I can restore them, but I can't find them. I looked everywhere.
Any clues?
Thanks in advance

I already tried that. Unfortunately it does not do the trick. No visible backups, only in CWM itself. Also still the same files that can't be deleted.

I had similar issue twice first time I had to flash RUU, and second time only factory reset from bootloader fixed it.

Hi all, i flashed the new rayglobe rom succesfully, but i think there is a problem with the multi user part of android 4.2.2. This is because i now have an sdcard0 and an emulated0 which both have the exact same files in? Any help would be appreciated

If you mean storage/emulated/0/ that It's correct.
/storage/sdcard0/ internal sd storage path for compatibility with 4.1 apps.
/storage/emulated/0 4.2 internal sd storage path.

Both of these paths are symlinks, they don't "eat" your disk space, and you don't need get rid of it.
Under root (or in recovery file manager) check /data/media , all your files shall be in data/media/0, if any files are duplicated just in data/media,
that it not correctly... delete them.

It actually was eating my space, i had duplicate of everything, booting into recovery and doing a data wipe fixed this.
I've got the same problem after flashing cyanogen mod 10.1

Have you tried backing up your files and wiping the data partition?, I did this and it fixed this for me, also make sure your recovery is at the latest version.

Can someone help me out with this? What's the EASIEST way to fix this problem on my GF's phone?
I just want to copy over all her data onto a PC, Titanium Backup everything (apps, settings and all) and just fix this mounting issue. She definitely has duplicated around everywhere, but it's hard to understand what is a duplicated or not.
I have her running a CWM recovery.
I have a rooted HTC One and when I rooted it I used to have CWM Recovery as my custom recovery. When I updated my ROM to 4.4 KitKat, CWM at the time didnt support KitKat so I switched to TWRP 2.6.3.3 which did. Thing is after doing a disk analysis of my phone, I found that the CWM backups are still on my phone and seeing as they're not compatible with TWRP plus their taking over 2GB in storage capacity, how do I get rid of them ?! I frequently make a nandroid backup of my phone in case of a worst case scenario but I would like back the storage capacity these CWM backups are taking !
P.S Using the app I used it said the CWM folder was in excess of 2.6GB so I clicked on delete but it said the folder doesnt exist ?! I'm assuming when I flashed TWRP that while CWM was uninstalled or whatnot, its backups still remained. Were are the backups located so I can manually via a PC delete them ?!
Can anyone please provide some assistance, Thanks
Go with ES File Explorer to "/" = device/mnt/sdcard/clockworkmod/backups and delete from there.
To see those backups on your computer when the One is connected, you need to move the CWM backups from above path to "/" device/data/media/0
You might want to keep them!
Sent from my HTC One
I use CWM ROM Manager from the Play store to manage my backups.
Sent from my One using xda app-developers app
or you can just plug your phone into your PC and from there you can access the storage and delete from there....easier with a mouse i think.

Thing is I downloaded it and CWM folder was empty, I then downloaded a root file explorer, I located it in the root section of the phone (i.e not the SD card) and it was over 2GB in size, I deleted it but the extra storage capacity was added to the phone stats

My apologies ! Before deleting the folder my phone had 17.01 GB (32GB Model) of free storage, after deleting the folder it was still the same. I even rebooted the phone so the phone stats could be refreshed but it was still the same
Weird. I did the same thing as you when installing ARHD 51.0 and I don't have that folder with anything in it. Prolly cuz I wasn't making backups of that in specific though. I never found something I couldn't delete...

use a root-enabled file explorer (if you want ES, but root enabled), and go to /data/media/clockworkmod
not /data/media/0 or /sdcard, etc. just /data/media/
I currently have no rom installed due to me wiping the cache and data. I'm trying to put the cyanogenmod 11 zip on the sd card by mounting usb storage, however it doesn't allow to copy it over to the sd and just says "discovering items". Upon mounting the usb storage it recommends me to fix the device as there are some problems with files, I tried the scan and fix options but it did not help.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

On some kernels you can use connection to PC when you are in recovery, on some not. I do not know on what kernel and recovery you are now. But it seems it is not working. So solution is to do nandroid restore if you made a nandroid backup in recovery. I suppose you did not, so now your option is to flash stock JB from Download Mode with Odin, and copy ROM while you are in system. Or use some other phone and put SD card in it and copy like that.

Some of it has, some do not. I am not sure what version has it and what do not. I remember some version, maybe CoCore opens internal and external storage on PC automatically. But I can't remember was it CoCore or some else.

Actually it's something interesting, a senior. Like when Windows95 new entry in our country. At that time the system "DOS For Windows" is still very familiar in computer lessons in our education. (Developing Countries). So we can still do "Copy" and "Paste" via diskette in the system "DOS". I think CWM is almost similar to the DOS system. I mean, CWM will be very useful if a time on the android main system can not be done. Of course may be done through CWM. cmiiw.
Currently running Android L 5.0.1 stock with the latest twrp.
Can anyone tell me where the backups are stored?
On previous roms, twrp would backup on the internal sdcard, but it is not placing them there. I have one or two backups to delete as they hog quite a bit of space.
Thanks.

backups don't move ... the sdcard was not readable without the fix i posted for him
backups are stored in the same folder:
/data/media/0/TWRP/BACKUPS/YOUR_SERIAL_NO/DATE_OF_BACKUP
or if you prefer:
/sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/YOUR_SERIAL_NO/DATE_OF_BACKUP
but to be able to see it (using GPE 5.0.1) you must reset the security context of that path and it sub-folders using the command posted above by clsA.

i only changed the name of the external card..now this maches m8 external card.....the only thing that not work ..it still shows the old partition space...but the script work...if you make a photo for example it store now in the external sd card instead of the internal...also if you look on how to test the script in original thread..you will see it work...
anyway...maybe someone can have a look to the script to get last things done...will attach it here...
also for the future...i like to have the whole data mounted to the sd...if anyone can help or have ideas...let me know
thx

anyway thx for testing and using in the past and now

Any way to swap that back? All my music is on my external, no space... =/
*Edit*
Root is broken as well. I even downloaded and flashed version 2.40 from his thread and no go. App freezes when either trying to give permissions or you try and open the app.
Already have the latest supersu.zip on sd card and flash after all of this 5.0 roms in general. Trust me nothing directed art this build or OP.
Safe?
I am not following the concerns with this ROM.
Is it safe to flash or will I lose my SD card or Root if I do?
Thanks
Aussie
Is that script specifically for this ROM or all other versions of any ROM ? I'm actually interested as everything I download gets downloaded to internal sdcard, and not external. Is the script automatic ? Or does one need to run it as an automatic option (run at boot:script manager) ? I'm on a 4.4.4 ROM, so this script is the first time I've seen anything like it...

Tested the script (the one that taken from your ROM.zip)
In a way ... it is a very good script as it mounts the whole external_sd as internal_sd. So the original internal_sd is basically not in use as storage by the system. But users can manually use the original internal_sd to store his files such as musics, movies & etc.
So to use this script, it is advisable on a clean flashed ROM.
I tested this script on my personal ROM. The whole external_sd now mounted as internal_sd. And the original internal_sd now mounted as intSdCard. So any app that rely on its data in internal_sd will fail. Simple solution is to move its data from intSdCard to newly mounted internal_sd.
Now .. I can understand your idea to have the whole data mounted to original internal_sd. And I believe the whole data already mounted to internal_sd. Reason is, in MTP the Internal storage now read the external_sd.
So... need to find a fix to show the right storage space instead of the old space storage .. then we can mount a bigger capacity sdcard as internal_sd

@Alex-V I hope i'm not asking a stupid question here but with that script of yours, does that mean that if I install apps, the apps and they're data will go into my external SD card instead of the M8's internal storage?
Will you also mind posting some recommended kernel settings for the first time users?
I saw that I have to use the firmware posted, can I just use back sense firmware as I don't have s-off?

1. The apps and their data still go to data partition but their \Android\data\ and \Android\obb will go to external_sd instead of internal storage.
2. Kernel settings - Alex-V is the right person to advise as I don't use any custom kernel.
3. Not necessarily to use that particular firmware, you can use your 4.4.4 Sense firmware .. maybe yours is same as mine 3.32.707.9
