Hello everyone,
I´m using the s3mini i8190 and i´m in a bootloop. I read on other sites that i should go into download mode and use odin, problem: I can´t get into download mode (or recovery mode). The last thing i did was flashing GApps after i flashed an aosb rom without GApps. after that i think i flashed a bad zip(I wanted to flash titanium backup into the system), because it gave the error :
Code:
Flashing failed
E: Can't mount data
E: Can't mount system
after that i went into the advanced menu of twrp to manually mount data and system, which didn't work.
so, basically i'm stuck with a bootloop without being able to go into download mode.
I hope I've given enough information
Any suggestions?

After trying few times to flash Audahadi's zip for increasing system1 size I decided to revert back to stock partition and here is where the hell broke loose.
Get the E: error can not delete nod. Format of system aborted.
Decided to flash miui through fastboot, it stops in the middle of it saying Unidentidied error target size is to large.
When trying to restore backup through cwm it gives E: error described above
Can't install anything through cwm and also fastboot is not flashing.
Phone is recognized by my laptop and charging.
Any help would be deeply apreciated

Hello everyone.
Last night I was trying to root my I8200L flashing the SuperSU with TWRP, so far so good. I installed Chainfire's SuperSU app.
When I opened the app, it said the binaries were outdated, and if I wanted to update them. I accepted ann the phone restarted in Recovery Mode (I'm using TWRP v2.7.0.1). Everything seemed fine, but when the installation finished, the phone rebooted and took me back to the TWRP screen. After a couple of tries I got into a slight desperation, and, without knowing much this recovery (so far always used CWM in my previous devices), decided to do a Wipe, but of course, as I don't know well how this recovery works, I went to Advanced Wipe and tittle all options (Dalvik Cache, System, Cache, Data, Internal Storage and Preload), thinking it would be like a Factory Reset.
Until now I realize that to make a Factory Reset you had to swipe just when you enter to the Wipe section, apparently I erased the entire system, but luckily I have a backup that was done before and also the Stock ROM downloaded from SamMobile.
The problem is, wanting to restore the system with the Restore option, I select the Backup, starts to restore the system, but when appears "Wiping Cache ..." in the console, continues for a few seconds and suddenly appears four purple TWRP screens, and the recovery reboots (I tried to launch the system, but only brings me back to TWRP).
The second thing I tried was flashing the Stock ROM from the Micro SD, but when I try the following appears:
Code:
Installing '/external_sd/I8200LUBUAOC1_I8200LUUBAOC1_ARO.zip'...
Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
Error flashing zip '/external_sd/I8200LUBUAOC1_I8200LUUBAOC1_ARO.zip'
Updating partiton details...
Finally, I thought the recovery has an error, so I tried to flash PhilzTouch Recovery and get the same thing:
Code:
Installing '/external_sd/PhilzTouch_recovery.tar.md5.zip'...
Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
Error flashing zip '/external_sd/PhilzTouch_recovery.tar.md5.zip'
Updating partiton details...
I can not access the Download Mode to flash the ROM from the PC via Odin, because when I try to enter (the Download Mode), just send me back to TWRP.
I don't know what to do, the phone is "locked up" in recovery mode. Hopefully someone can help me.
(Sorry for my bad english hope you can understand)ç
EDIT:
I could get into Download Mode and flash the Stock ROM, all done :good:
How?
After 3 years, now i'm passing the similar problem.
How did you acces recovery mode again, after recovery loop?
Is there a CWM recovery released that I can flash with Odin?
The reason I need CWM and not TWRP is that I'm getting the "E: failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument)" error on recovery (stock or TWRP) whenever I'm trying to do anything so I'll need to run a couple of ADB lines to fix that issue.
If any of you can help me fix that issue w/o CWM, that would be great too.
Also, I can't boot up so the only thing I have access to currently is download mode and recovery. When the phone boots, it hangs on a black screen with the blue LED indicator showing, not flashing though like some others have experienced.
so firstly, let me make this clear, i had Android 6 stock rom working initially, i installed TWRP and rooted the phone with SU
All was working fine until i decided to try and wip the phone to test either a lineage os build or the new EMUI 5
However after performing factory reset, the /data partition is now broken.
I know i'm not the only one that has encountered this issue, but i would at least like a straight forward answer in order to resolve the problem.
Stock recovery now doesn't seem to be an option as when i send it to the phone, i reboot and TWRP still exists.
i have tried via fastboot and from within TWRP, i still get the /data partition error if trying in TWRP to flash recovery.
surely there is a proper solution for this, as this is a software issue not a hardware issue.
i would appreciate your assistance and can provide whatever required information necessary.
i did not pay $500 for this phone for it to be a useless brick
I noticed something here about modaco-rc3 recovery, which i am downloading to try, if it flashes properly, as i suspect this /data partition issue is preventing much of anything from being modified now.
i look forward to your responses and will reply to this with an update after trying to flash modaco recovery if successful
The data partition of the EMUI roms are different than what for example lineageos needs (I think because of encryption).
You need to flash the stock recovery via fastboot, then wipe and format data from there, then TWRP should be able to mount the partition again. In TWRP you can format the partition again to the format according to what is necessary for the rom you want to install.

I am just downloading 4.1 stock rom i found finally on Huawei website after much buggering around last night, clearly it was a long day.
Will get this flashed with the stock recovery that I was able to put back on thanks to SRKTool
Will update again shortly, thank you for the reply.
failed to mount system for rom install
now this is just getting silly...
so i was able to restore stock rom with the dload folder procedure and EMUI recovery restored with SRKTool
successfully then unlocked bootloader, put on twrp-3.0.2-0-eva-modaco-rc3, did the data wipes and tried to install lineage os zip.
(the original problem of going back to stock rom is solved, but this is still ongoing as to now why a custom rom will not load)
now i get the infamous ERROR: 7
after
could not detect filesystem for /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system, assuming ext4
mount: failed to mount /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system at system: no such file or directory
....this is all seeming far too difficult to install any custom rom on this unit, what is happening?
same issue
I'm having a similar issue, any updates?
Good night guys, first of all I'm sorry if the text is confusing, English is not my strong point, i'm Brazilian.
I had the cyanogenmod in my phone(Moto g thea 1078) and as it was giving so many problems I decided to change the rom to the crDroid, but by a huge oversight of my part when I wipe I marked all the options, now I am not able to install any rom, not even the stock rom, some I can install by twrp without any error (crDroid, Viper), but when I try restart the system after installing twrp says that I am without any rom's installed, and if I ignore and restart anyway my cell phone is eternally on the logo screen, there is only one rom that I was able to install and start the phone, the 1068 rom stock, but chips and wifi doesn't work, when I'm going to install a 1078 stock of error in primary_gpt, in boot and the sparsechunks
"version downgraded for primary_gpt
version downgraded for boot
e img is too big for the sparsechunk"
does anyone have any ideas to help me?
Copy a proper ROM for Thea and Gapps on a micro SD card using a computer or a friend's phone, then place the SD card on your phone and install it through TWRP.
Of course you needed to wipe everything - you always need to delete everything before flashing new ROM, just NOT the external storage, because that's where your installation package is. Try any of the following (some of them don't have SuperSU included, so you will have to flash it separately):
- Viper or
- [proper] crDroid or
- DarkNess reDefined or
- Paranoid Android etc.
Don't forget about the Gapps package and SuperSu (the zip file).
Good luck.
i'v tried this once, doesn't work, but now i can't even install twrp or similar recoverys, always gives an erro "mismatched partition size (recovery)", i google it and people says that this error is normal, the twrp should start even with this errro, but when i start the recovery i got 'boot up failed' or starts the original recovery

Your phone is crippled for life, you installed a firmware for the wrong device. Go install a Titan ROM and TWRP, there is nothing to do. Your phone is an XT1068 now. You lost your LTE ability forever.
