i buy this phone from china and it shows me that error every time i turn it on.
first its comes with out the google store or any other google apps :/

is there any chance that i can install a "normal" android virsion on this phone ? or its a real developers device that not designed for "normal users"
thanks a lot !
Since you bought this from China, I wanted to ask if you are sure this is a genuine device (an actual HTC One and not an HDC One knock off)?
i think so

its look, feel and works like the real thing.
is there any other way to know ?
if i look at settings->phone id ->
i have serial nomber of the device and so on..
IMEI , MEID , etc
The HDC One has a removable back cover. The HTC One does not.

Either way, what you are seeing on boot is a result of the firmware installed on your phone. Tell me, do you know whether your phone is s off or not?
for my lucky , its not removable so it is real.
about the s off question i cant answer you because i dont know how to, sorry

Looks legit to me. The red text warning is the result of the device being s-off, Thats normal in that circumstance. You have nothing to worry about. :good:
Also worth mentioning its a Sprint phone so if your gonna flash anything make sure its for Sprint HTC one.

I've seen one or two other Sprint phones with 7.xx firmware recently. Threw me to I googled it and it appears to be legit also. It is odd about the hboot though. Come to think of it I don't remember what hboot the other sprint's had. I see if I can find the threads.
Edit:-
Here's another one it's also hboot 1.55 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57707547

There are more than 2 Versions of the HTC one. Yours is Sprint M7_wls and although the Hardware is basically the same. The Sprint has a different partition structure to the more popular International M7_ul also Sprint uses a CDMA network where as International uses GSM network.
Your new OS version with hboot 1.55 seem's to be normal and nothing to worry about. It appears strange though as we were only aware of GPE phones getting a lollipop update. Since the latest update before lollipop has firmware number 6.xx with hboot 1.57 we kind of expected lollipop to be on 7.xx with hboot 1.58. But for some reason it appears Sprint has gone back to 1.55. It will be interesting to see if other variants go the same way.
The fact your device is s-off is a good thing, there's not much you can't do with s-off. As long as your only using Sprint software ( Rom's, RUU's and Recoveries) Your'll be fine.
You'll find the Sprint Forums here http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-htc-one.
Did you buy it from ebay it's not the first time I've heard of devices from china coming with s-off when purchased from ebay.

thanks for the explanation Danny, actually i bought it from aliexpress.
I took in the calculation that something can goes wrong with them, as usual
if you have more necessary information u think i should read about it would be fantastic!
ok guys i follow this video on youtube, so far so good
at the moment i get to the recovery screen the touch stop working thats mean I can not click on anything
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRkAHw_GmIs
I have bought the same phone off from aliexpress 11.11 sales!
It has arrived today to Hungary.
A chinese SOUL TEAM rom was installed on it. I would like to go on with a stock rom. Which one to go for?
I have checked the phone's version by IMEI and i was told its an 801e variant: i.imgur com/69yw3hG.png
SN: FA34AS902336
But i have an other problem with it: it does not recognize the SIM card. No PIN check nor signal, altough when I remove the sim card when the phone is on I recieve an error that the sim card removed. Tried it with 2 SIMs already.
So I'm not so sure about its a Sprint version. Did u successfully flash a Sprint ROM on it already?

Just to correct you, the red text shows once your bootloader is unlocked and a non-stock boot is installed, if I remember rightly it was said to be triggered by CRC check &/or Signature check, shows same text way back on hTC Desire C as well

lol maybe that was the case for the Desire C. But i assure you 100% The red developer warning on boot of a HTC One M7 is caused by the device being switched to s-off.

I heard you need to be stock to use a sim-unlock code so you might want to try back to 100% stock then use the code. If it still don't work then maybe you could purchase a new code.

Do some searching here (in the Q&A) section, there were quite a few SIM Unlock threads solved (quite a while ago), I can't exactly remember, but it used to be a combo of
1- stock rom (or very close) but matching to firmware version
2- possibly stock recovery
3- possibly locked/relocked bootloader
4- s-off / s-on doesn't matter
I believe number 1 was the most important, can't say/remember about 2 and 3, and quite sure S-Off won't matter.

Hmmm still no luck. Been working at this for a while now, not sure what the problem is. Selling it is the only solution I can think of right now, but there must be a way to unlock this for my carrier.
Hello. I have a similar issue, so I don't think I should create another topic.
I just purchased a 64gb HTC One and purchased the unlock code from the same vendor as always. I was always able to unlock other devices (One XL, One X+, Windows phone 8X) easily, and even other Ones, since this is my fouth (first one I gave to my brother, second slipped off my pocket while in a tunnel riding my motorcycle and the third is 32gb, so I decided to sell it and buy a 64gb).
This one is used like new, everything stock, s-on, nothing unusual. Well, except the led seems to be smaller (very hard to see the red dot while charging) and the system may be newer, since it doens't find any update available.
But the code doesn't work. I tried twice thinking I could be misspelling the numbers, but returned wrong anyway.
So...
1-What happens if I try again and it returns wrong, since it's showing it's my last try?
2-Any clue?
Thanks in advance.
Does your phone work on any network? What carrier is it branded?
Best thing is to email (carrier) support and get a code from them.
This thread is for devices that have a security cross reference back end problems.
Does your phone say it accepts the code then restarts then asks for the code again?

After a lot of painstaking effort, I managed to flash a stock RUU, got back to a stock recovery, and locked the bootloader. Got the same unlock code from two separate vendors. No dice. Incredibly frustrating, don't know what's wrong with my phone but now I have to sell it.

Hey everyone, i am new to this XDA developers site, but have many years of experience with android devices, my latest one though, well is the htc one, i would like to know, is there any risk to using the ''Firewater'' S-OFF Command, i am just wondering this because i would like to unlock the full capability of this wonderful device, and i only have it a week or two, so i would not like to damage the device by only having it 2 weeks, i love it, but would like to unlock the full potential of it, and i also love sense and stock android, so would be seriously interested.
Bottom Line, Is there any risk of using the ''Firewater'' S-OFF Tool?
Thanks very much,

nope, no risk, either it will work or it wont, if it fails then there is a new one called Sunshine s-off which apparently works on the M7 but you have to pay for it, try firewater first.
I'm still not persuaded, I'm afraid it will harm it and damage my device, maybe I'll do it in the future, but thanks very much for your reply, I gave you a thanks on your answer?

like I said, it wont hurt it at all, it will either work or it wont, read the s-off thread if you don't believe me, ive ran it 50 times to try and get s-off and ended up doing it by java card because firewater failed. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2632351
that was before sunshine came about, if I was still s-on, I would hesitate to pay for and run sunshine right now.

having S-Off etc is the best ever i have done on my htc couldnt imagine now to have s-on again its the ultimate lol.
firewater works however it did take quite some trys back-then before it succeeded, i did alot of reading before i decided
wanting having s-off, pros/cons but conclusion now and after the reading before s-off was a no-brainer (for me)
i remember having the same thoughts to about the bricking but after reading through many topics here and other sites
i wasent that scared of it mostly nervous if it worked or not xD as the guy above says, either it works or not. for me it took many tries to as said, but ones having s-off
you wont look back i believe i guess its a preference since we all have our personal favorite if wanting s-on or off.
i would "advice" reading more through about using firewater getting inputs, i had same thoughts as you with using it at first as long with rooting etc
and i never knew or tried those things actually before i joined this awesome forum and started to use it regular. i see you are quite into the android
from your text to thats good advantage and should help as well with choosing to use or not
im aware of my low post count xD but i dont post/reply just to get posts up, only if im able to give input there may help in some way
either way, wishing you goodluck if you decided to go for it!
hah as Seanie280672 says to it might take alot of tries, its just keep going eventually it should succeed
Thanksks for the information, so it will not brick or will there be very little chance of bricking?

just remember s-off actually means security off and opens up the nand to full write, its no longer protected.
therefore if you try to flash something that's not for your particular device, it will no longer fail with an error, it will flash and brick your device, s-off itself doesn't brick, the user bricks by flashing the wrong things, so make sure you know what you are doing before you go s-off, if you don't really need it, or don't know what you are doing then don't bother, there's so many users on here that don't actually know how to even identify their correct RUU for instance, and that's simple stuff, but downloading the wrong one and flashing parts of it that don't belong to your phone = a brick, but again, that's the user, not s-off.
on the other hand however, s-off can help you out a lot, take a look at the below thread, he flashed the wrong software whilst s-on and has knackered his phone up, if he was s-off then it would be easily fixable with a simple downgrade of HBOOT, but because he's s-on he now has a brick: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/help/help-active-cmdline-overflow-1025-bytes-t2841484
S-off is complete control of your phone. Which is the dangerous part. The process to s-off is simple and will not brick you. Just be sure to remember your model ID (like mine is M7_wlv) because all ruu files will state what model number it is and for what firmware.
The reason to want s-off? Search your specific device's ruu files and see if there is one for your version or high that is officially signed by HTC. If there is none, you will want s-off to downgrade or flash the unsigned ruu. As S-on, you cannot downgrade firmware or flash unsigned ruus

you can flash any custom rom as long as its for your phone, even if your s-on, you just have to be HTC Dev unlocked, just make sure its for your phone and read the OP and instructions, the guy who bricked his recently flashed CM11 designed for a completely different phone and the kernel messed one of his partitions up, he didn't read the details and instructions, it couldn't be fixed because he wasn't s-off, the fix only works if your on HBOOT 1.44 and you cant downgrade that without s-off.

Yeah, as long as the software is for your device it will be perfect, but you'll need to know the actual model number of your device, mine is m7_ul, but yours might be just m7, so be weary of what yours is, the best way of finding this out is going into the bootloader and looking at the first characters on the first line, i'm good at all this stuff, its that im just weary of making my device an expensive piece of metal and glass, if you need help, you can always send me a message

that's not completely true, a custom rom built for M7_UL will work just fine on the M7_U, they are the same device, just one has LTE and the other doesn't, just means those parts of the rom wont be installed.
the only rom's you cant use are HTC ONE M7 custom rom';s built for Spirint and Verizon devices.

Unfortunately you have to be on Sprint's Network to get the OTA update. Here is the RUU 5.03.651.3 which will give you Sense 6. Just follow the instructions in the OP on how to run the RUU, since you are S-OFF you do not need to lock your bootloader to run the RUU.
Here is the link to the Sprint HTC One forum. Keep an eye out in this forum for future updates, generally someone will post the OTA so it can be installed manually.

It should not effect you SIM unlock. There is no guarantee that any process will not brick your phone, OTAs from the HTC and carriers have caused some issues. The best you can do is check MD5 checksums to see if the file has been corrupted during the download process and check the OP for any one who has reported an issue.

Do you have updated fastboot and adb? If not, Minimal ADB & Fastboot Tool
Extract the zip to your adb/fastboot folder
Boot phone into bootloader/FASTBBOOT USB before running ARUWizard.exe
Try with a different USB port and/or cables
If possible change PC's
So,I bought a Htc M8 from craigs and it came with sprint rom.I thought it was a sprint phone and used it for a month. Now i was just looking at the phone and i found out "model : 0P6B100" wriiten on the back bottom side of my HTC M8 .I searched and found out that it is a Europe unlocked version, which is pretty great but in my bootloader it shows "m8_Mhl "
Can bootloader be changed from "m8_u" to "m8_whl" ??
Can gsm phones run sprint rom ?
I am so confused seriously! Can someone sort it out please??

If it is s-off it can be changed to pretty much anything. Did you put a Sprint sim card in it? If it runs and gets signal, then yes it works.
Also, if it is s-off it can also run any rom, whether or not it works on Sprint is up to you to find out and report back. It looks like someone thought it would run, maybe it won't and that's why they sold it. Check out the regular M8 thread, there may be someone reporting something there, also that would be a good place to ask this question since it is the WW device.

It runs sprint rom perfectly.Should i flash RUU of "0P6B1000" on it ? It shouldn't be a problem because the model number is written on the phone itself ( One can't change that !) .Idon't have a sprint sim card.Is there any way to check if it is a cdma or gsm ? coz pretty much everythin in "getvar all" is changed

You're in the wrong area to use TWRP, or {Install a new Oden (Kerrnal) [Download Mode]}
Bootloader isn't for anything useful to lame brains like me, besides unlocking the bootloader, rooting it, and fixing the SD write issue, then relocking the bootloader.
What we did wrong is this! we didn't have all the correct programs running when we unlocked the bootloader, after that we rooted our phones. Gotten the root is correctly installed from a root apk/exe {programs} once we reset our phones, we get stuck at the service provider screen. the only way off this screen is to press the both volume
buttons + power until it resets. if we don't press the volume down + power buttons it reboots & locks up again at the service provider screen.
For HTC Phones:
HTC phones can flash stock ROMs, known as RUUs, right from the phone's bootloader. You'll need to Google around for your device's specific RUU file, but once you download it, save the ZIP file to your SD card, and rename it (to something like PG05IMG.zip—the download page for the RUU file should specify which filename is required), booting up your phone should automatically flash the stock ROM from HBOOT, HTC's bootloader.

NOOB ALERT!!! (me lol)
I have the exact same issue of this thread and I've been looking all over google for at least one stock ROM for the desire for like 3 weeks now and I did read some of the thread you quote before and was really usefull for my Moto Droid Razr HD :victory: but It would be AWESOME if you have an idea of where to find a ROM for this phone specific
HTC Desire 625 Cricket
***UNLOCKED***
htc_a32eul PVT S-ON
OS-1.23.507.5
Thank you!:fingers-crossed:
Buenas tengo problema también con htc desire 625 cricket y no encuentro una stock room
I just bought one of these (Cricket HTC 625) to use as a temporary phone after my Sony Z2 Failed (Touch screen spazzing out/left, 1/4 non-responsive).
I am going to (carrier) unlock it, but obviously a more generic ROM would be nice, too.
I'm experienced at installing ROMs via various way, installing recoveries, using ADB, etc., but I know nothing about this phone (I've never had an HTC phone)
Is this phone essentially a branded 626?
Can I re/un brand it with any 626 rom?
A quick intro to this phone would be appreciated.
I also bought a 625 from cricket recently. Someone told me via pm here at the forum that it could be rooted using the same method as the 626s, but the person has not (yet) pointed me to the guide he used.
I'd like to learn more also

I bought a couple of these as "Refurbished HTC 625" from Cricket for $0.99. The phone I received is an HTC Desire 626s. In fact if you look at the "settings->about->phone" it says "HTC Desire 626s".
I was able to unlock the bootloader / install a custom recovery / root, but there does not appear to be any ROMs available. My previous experience was with Kindle Fires and Nexus 5s, so I was a bit surprised with the dev threads for this phone.

That's an awesome deal.
I paid $6 for one of those instant on-line carrier unlocks, so you'd have a fairly modern and capable unlocked Android phone for ~$7.00. If I could un-lock and un-brand them, I could sell as many as I could get at a significant profit!
As I mentioned, mine was a temporary replacement. I've since purchased an Honor 8 as a permanent replacement, but the HTC served me well in the interim.

Thanks Jake - I got it rooted not too long after I'd made that post but I appreciate you taking the time to post that
I got myself a 625 last year, when I boot the thing into download mode it shows htc_a32eul
The official Cricket RUU for 626s also shows A32EUL in the filename. So perhaps this rom wil help you ?
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...4.1777877360.1498843151-1775625655.1498843151
Here you can find that the 625 is the same as the 626s
https://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-626/general/desire-625-626s-t3420019
edit: I can confirm this RUU is working on Cricket desire 625 ! The phone now has the official ROM again and when i tap "about" in the system settings it shows 626s. Everything is working fine ! So I'm now thinking of flashing to a custom 626s rom

The refurbished one was $1 with 1-month plan purchase requirement, great phone for the price.
