Unfortunately you have to be on Sprint's Network to get the OTA update. Here is the RUU 5.03.651.3 which will give you Sense 6. Just follow the instructions in the OP on how to run the RUU, since you are S-OFF you do not need to lock your bootloader to run the RUU.
Here is the link to the Sprint HTC One forum. Keep an eye out in this forum for future updates, generally someone will post the OTA so it can be installed manually.

It should not effect you SIM unlock. There is no guarantee that any process will not brick your phone, OTAs from the HTC and carriers have caused some issues. The best you can do is check MD5 checksums to see if the file has been corrupted during the download process and check the OP for any one who has reported an issue.

Do you have updated fastboot and adb? If not, Minimal ADB & Fastboot Tool
Extract the zip to your adb/fastboot folder
Boot phone into bootloader/FASTBBOOT USB before running ARUWizard.exe
Try with a different USB port and/or cables
If possible change PC's

I was wondering , is there any way to somehow "convert" my AT&T htc into the developer version and receive developer OTAs?
I'm currently running this rom - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265820
It doesn't allow OTAs as it's de-odexed and device ID is different I believe.
What i want is the stock developer version with root and some way to carry over root over OTAs. I don't mind keeping stock recovery in order to get the OTAs.
Thanks

Yes you can... What you need is s-off and then supercid and the brightstar ruu. Once the ruu is flashed change your cid to BS_US001 and you technically have a us dev version phone capable of receiving otas. You should be able to root from there. I've seen reports of being able to keep root with ota rootkeeper from the market. Keep in mind if you put a custom recovery to root you'll need to replace it back with the stock recovery with a locked bootloader to accept otas.

Thanks so I just change the CID according to this guide here? - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317536
Also, which method of s-off do you recommend?
so it's s-off>change supercid> flash ruu> root and return stock recovery
is that right?
Thanks so much for the help btw. This is my first htc device, so new to the whole s-on/off thing and having so many partitions..

I used revone to s-off mainly because I could do it right from the phone but really just use whichever you think you'll be most comfortable with. Revone has options to lock and unlock your bootloader, I'm not sure if moonshine does or not so take that into consideration. When you flash the ruu it will replace your recovery with the stock one so you'll need to put a custom recovery back to flash root unless there is a method to root without it. So basically it's s-off>supercid>flash ruu>root>stock recovery>change cid again to BS_US001>lock bootloader. The locked bootloader BS-US001 cid and stock recovery are important for otas with the brightstar ruu.

Oh and that method for changing cid is fine... If you already have fastboot setup and are familiar with it then its just 1 command "fastboot oem writecid ********" the asterisks are of course representing the cid you intend to write to the device... Always 8 characters

bootloader doesnt need to be locked. You can get OTA's unlocked, but like he said you must have stock recovery and correct CID. I've even heard you have to have all the stock apps..So with root dont delete them, just freeze any app you dont want. Shouldnt be bad anyway seeing its a dev ruu and doesnt have carrier bloat.

Cool thanks for clearing that up, I did a lot of searching and reading before I attempted this so I'm not sure where I picked that up. Also I had no problem taking an ota after I had disabled a few apps in settings>apps so that's an option if you desire.
How about the Model ID of the device, guys? Would that play any role in all of this?

In his case the at&t model id and us dev edition model id are the same so as long as he uses the brightstar ruu he will be fine... In your case you need to find out which dev edition gets shipped to your area find out the model id it uses to see if it's the same as yours and use the ruu for that dev edition phone. Or pick an ruu you want to use and change your model id to match the dev phone that ruu belongs to. I hope that makes sense.
Not working for me.
I've managed to get S-off and SuperCID, but trying to flash the Brightstar RUU from HTCDev fails. I'm currently using the Deodexed ROM cited at the start of the this thread, but I'd like to receive updates. I'm not worried about losing ROOT and the custom recovery since I prefer Sense over anything else. What am I doing wrong here? Is turning your ATT HTC ONE into a developer's edition with over the air updates no longer possible?

What ruu are you guys using for this? The official brighstar ruu from HTCDEV will not install on my ATT HTC ONE, no matter what. "(bad) installation aborted." Tried locking my bootloader again, but doing so makes me lose the CWM recovery which makes me unable to install anything then. I have already changed the superCID to Developer edition. Tried with supercid ON. Installation will not work. Pretty much given up. Will just install updates manually as they come.

Either you trying to run the ruu while booted into android or you have a bad download. Try running it with supercid while in fastboot or bootloader.
I did s-off and changed cid, then was able to successfully flash the .16 dev ruu and receive the .17 ota. I followed the steps listed above. Don't know why you're having this problem..

Hi, I'm having trouble trying to flash the google play edition rom onto my HTC One (Verizon). I have tried unlocking the bootloader with htcdev.com and it gives me the error: Error Code: 160. Error Reason: MID Not Allowed. I tried to change the cid to 11111111 but that doesn't work either. Also rumrunner doesn't work. I have done a lot of research and can't find any fix for the problem.
Other information:
Android Version 4.4.2
Hboot Version 1.56
Any help is appreciated, thank you in advance.

if you can't unlock bootloader you can't do much else. pretty much everything else is dependant on it.
I think the error message you're getting when you try and unlock bootloader is because Verizon (through your device MID) does not allow it.

Look, on a locked bootloader, you cannot do anything what ur trying. Verizon phones cannot be unlocked using dev unlock. Only Rumrunner. Make sure that u have HTC Sync Manager installed on ur PC. Run rumrunner again. Rumrunner is the only bootloader unlock solution fr Verizon. Also, make sure USB debugging is enabled and fast boot in power settings is off

Correct me if I'm wrong but Rumrunner won't work for him either because he is on 4.4.2. That version can't achieve root which is required to s-off. And until s-off is achieved, you can't flash any ROMs...

Yep....
After hours of research I feel stupid because this can't be done at the moment. Anyone who is a Verizon subscriber is SOL after updating to 4.4. Can't be done. End of story. Untill then I'll patiently wait. Glad I have an AT&T S4 running CM11 which was done without using a PC so I'm happy about that. The phone I have with Verizon is through work and sense is garbage and battery life is abysmal with all that blotware. I really want CM11 on my HTC One :-/

Okay lol, were getting all of our info for moto right now, reading boot sequences the way in which everything boots, the structure of the bootloader, where the qfuse is located and how we can possibly fry it. My question is. What actually unlocks the HTC bootloader. I know the unlock code.bin But what "actually" let's you unlock the phone? Questions to think thats where you get into the thought of how to hex or trick something such as rum runner/firewater does. Its unlocks and makes you s-off. I read somewhere that it just makes your phone think its s-off, could this be or not to be? I'm finding all these answers..... Were going to try something tomorrow, could possibly brick moto or allow us to unlock WISH ME LUCK!!! I have rooted romed a HTC one, can someone answer one question on the HTC one. When in FULL stock recovery or when someone goes into it, does it just do like my phone and set it back to when I go it (not factory reset) or does it allow options just like wipe cache factory reset and stuff like that? Please someone answer that for me
Also I know how to write the code and make exploits and everything, but how in gods name do you edit a .bin file and see what the ACTUAL ORIGINAL code was. I know its not just some computer person is going to sit down and write ¢=¥=€℅£{`¶¥°`°©=¥ ain't no way in hell nobody gonna read that, then there's the way to change that to hex which is like CB190 FD240 something like that idk, the thing is, there's over 50,000 lines of that, but that simplifies to binary. I can't get anything to change my hex to binary. Because im pretty sure you can change binary to text but i cant get anything to change hex to bainary properly. I can change binary to hex then whatever the foop that symbol crap is. But not do it backwards. It simpily wont work for me.sorry for that noob question, but i havr an idea and need to know. Sorry if my words are wrong I'm tired.
With the IR blaster I'm unsure. I didn't test it. With 4 ROMs I switch back and forth from my SD card. I can backup restore/install and be rebooted with a totally different ROM in 10 minutes like I got bored with sense 4 last night, now I'm on sense 5 woot.

Hi,
I have a noob question, and I'm sorry that this not where i should post
I have an International HTC One M7 (4.4.2 and Sense 6). Since HTC is committed to provide OTAs for Android L, which I don't want to miss. But I want my phone to be S-Off and Unlocked bootloader. I've read a post saying that we are still eligible for OTAs if we have stock recovery, stock rom. So I just want to Unlock my bootloader and S-Off, thats it I dont want to install any recovery or flash any roms. I only want this because, i will be frank, i need that pan360 feature in my camera (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JU28g9yxzN4) as you can see at 14:45 in the linked video. So what should I do? And unlocking bootloader, getting s-off and relocking the bootloader qualifies us to get OTAs? how exactly does the HTCs OTAs check in my phone before it decides whether im eligible for OTA or not.
Thanks in advance!

Ok unlocking your boot loader and getting soff will have nothing to do with getting the app. That may rely on being rooted which will mean ugly will need to flash something. To be honest I wouldn't count on an ota before there is a flashable zip built from source.

You mean, we dont need an OTA since side loading is already available even before the OTA reaches the devices?? If YES then does rooting enable side loading?

Most of the time yes. There is a built ROM from source within a matter of hours if not before most get the OTA. No rooting doesn't enable it. Just unlocked bootloader. Maybe soff depending on if there is a new radio.
And to be honest with all the issues with OTA I never advise using them.
Also looking at the video. You would have to flash a rom to get what you want anyway.

Two more questions
1) How does putting a LOCKED message after unlocking the bootloader in the boot page helps? Most of the people are concerned about changing that message from UNLOCKED to LOCKED.
2) And will there be any problem if I just Unlock the bootloader and S-Off and continue using the Stock ROM from HTC that i have? I may root the device later, but keeping it like that could harm the device in any manner?

1) How does putting a LOCKED message after unlocking the bootloader in the boot page helps? Most of the people are concerned about changing that message from UNLOCKED to LOCKED.
2) And will there be any problem if I just Unlock the bootloader and S-Off and continue using the Stock ROM from HTC that i have? I may root the device later, but keeping it like that could harm the device in any manner?

To be honest They worry about it because if HTC sees that you unlocked your bootloader then your warranty is voided. While This is something most accept as a price you pay for modding your device, Some dont want to accept the responsability and try to commit fraud but altering the bootloader to relocked status.
no there should be no problem with just doing that. But to be honest there is no point until your ready to take it further.

Oh and on a side note. HTC comment about the L release was targeting the GPE version of the device. Not the sense version.

Thanks a lot for your answers I shall look for info in other threads and try to contribute. And HTC has committed to provide all the updates for a new device for 2 years, and the leaks from llabfooter on twitter show that L will also be released for other HTC one series models

Unlock the bootloader through HTC's website: http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader
Flash TWRP and flash SuperSU through that.
S-off I barely remember how to do. All I remember was flashing a 4.4.2 build of CyanogenMod and running Moonshine on it.

Really?
You posted this on 2 dev places. Don't you read stickies and rules. Go in q&a thread not on dev thread.
This is an old post... is it possible to unlock a bootloader (htc m7 5.0.2 verizon) using htcdev.com???
thanks in advance.

What error exactly? You don't need to flash anything to get your token simply do "fastboot oem get_identifier_token". You can find all the instructions at htcdev.com/bootloader.
What is your "fastboot getvar all" ? (Don't share your imei/sn)

This is what it shows:
We're sorry, but it appears your attempt to unlock the bootloader on this device has failed. This could be caused by several factors including simple errors in the entry of the unlock token, problems with your device, or a lack of manufacturer support for the unlocking process. Please see the specific error code listed below, and try again if necessary.
Error Code: 172.
Error Reason: CID Not Allowed (MID not exist in Model Rule).

you'll need sunshine (which cost you 25$) to root + s-off + unlock bootloader. I consider it worth every penny
I also believe that Kingroot will provide you temp root (will lost root upon rebooting). I havent use it for quite sometime, dont know if they improved it yet but i doubt it

You can't unlock a Verizon phone using htcdev.com. Verizon asked HTC to block bootloader unlock because they don't want their customer to flash stuff on their phones. So like said above you'll need to temp root your phone so you can use sunshine to unlock your bootloader and s-off
I think I have to sell this one and buy something newer so I can play with it... Thanks!
I lost my HTC One M7 (ATT) variant late last year due to a charger issue frying the mainboard. I finally picked up a replacement last night which is the Verizon Model at a good price and it is in brand new condition.
The previous owner updated to the Lollipop 5.02 version which lives on it now. I have tried every method including the latest Sunshine to get it to root or even temp unroot.
SupeSu
Kingroot
Sunshine
HTCDev (before I knew Verizon locked it down so much)
It is the HTC6500LVW.
Is there any method that works at this point?

You need to use kingoroot to get temp root and then use sunshine to unlock and s-off. There is a thread in the verizon general section explaining in details.

I tried Kingoroot all weekend long and it did not work no matter what I tried.
I was at work today, tried again and it finally did it's thing. I then used Sunshine and got the rest of the job done, and then removed Kingo and put the SuperSu on there and am now happy to report all is good with it.
As for why it did not work in the first several attempts, it is beyond me.

Was it Kingroot? Or Kingoroot? Either way both don't work for me. Can you link me the guide you used.
Is it possible to flash a different version of the software on the T-Mobile M9. I unknowingly bought the Tmobile M9 and would like to install the unlocked / developer M9 software over it. I hate the Tmobile logo and noise at bootup.
Yeah, download any m9 gsm ROM and flash via twrp

Are there any that have it working? I've tried viper and insert coin and both have it in settings, but the feature itself seems to not work at all, as it never activates.

I don't know of any, but at one time @LeeDroid was going to try to get it working. However, he had a setback with carrier support, and he has had to put it on the back burner for now.

Go to this thread [http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-one-m9/general/please-read-rooting-using-twrp-t3069022]. There you will find all the tools you need to return your M9 to stock, so that you can take an OTA. @Rydah805 has put that thread together, and it will give you all the information you could possibly need.

Hi, I am trying to convert to Tmobile. I bought Verizon M9 because I got a good deal on it and thought since they are unlocked I could just put my SIM in and be working right away. I can make calls and text message and use internet after adding the APN. But I can't get the hotspot to work, hate the Unknown SIM notification and all the VZN apps. To get my phone as close to Tmo as possible would I just have to follow Captain_Throwback's guide and then flash a Tmo rom, or restore a backup, or RUU? Sorry for the noob question

I didn't think you could use a Verizon phone on a GSM carrier network, but if you can that's cool. If your phone is working on the T-Mobile network you can unlock the bootloader and root to install a T-Mobile rom, but you will have to check with the Sunshine thread to see if they have it working on Verizon M9's yet. If they do you can S-OFF, and install T-Mobile firmware and rom. Keep me posted on how you do.

Hello
I have S-OF,unlocked bootloader,root and latest software
I try to install RUU EU signed, but all the time an error occurred.
Perhaps because of the CID? Maybe we should change the CID?
I need help please

Relocking the bootloader shouldn't be necessary to run a RUU. I didn't need to.

Ok
The problem now solved
1. S-Off
2. Bootloader unlocked
3. Changed CID to one of CIDs of RUU
4. Flash RUU signed EU
Thanks for your help!
