I'm on T-Mobile, and if my APN and APN roaming protocols are not on Ipv4 I can not acquire data (it took me quite a bit to figure it out, as none of the Roms I flashed were able to acquire data)
try this, best result. fast and stable connection all the time, Don't know about MMS tho, never used it.

Yes that is what I use I was just commenting on the link that poster posted. Thanks
Tmobile/metropcs apn
Input this where it says apn type default, mms, supl, hipri, fota, ims, cbs. This will make volte and wifi calling work. You may have to update e911 address as well.

I have successfully rooted my phone and I have been successfully trying out some of the ROM's found here on xda. One thing I've noticed though is that every time I boot into any rom, I'm always stuck in roaming and I can't seem to get out.
Anyone have any ideas?
I'm running LG Optimus 2X P990HN on FIDO network.

Weird. Roaming is supposed to be a network setting and is not made automagically by the rom. Are there chances you enabled it before the flash?

Nope, not that I'm aware of anyway, I wasn't in roaming before flashing and I wasn't in roaming after flashing back to original.
I'm stumped thus far :\

I just got my wife and I 2 brand new phones rooted and installed custom roms.. I know this is a radio issue cause its not picking up the fido network thus i have the same problem you do. Im trying to look into a different baseband as we speak.

I tried the newest baseband i could find to no avail. i tried punching in all my apn settings manually, nothing. I was able to connect and register on FIDO umts and gsm networks but it still said I was in roaming.
I was doing a bit of googling earlier and some ppl were saying that it's got something to do with many of the roms are running gingerbread and that the p990hn has no love for gingerbread atm. I just kinda skimmed but that's what I got from it.
I'm going to see try a froyo rom for the 2x and see if I encounter the same issue.

Wow that sucks... so we have to offically wait for them to release gingerbread?

"Of course you wont be charged more.
Just an FYI, you are ON the Fido network even if it says Rogers or roaming on rogers. When you roam outside of the Fido/Rogers network, on something like AT&T or T-Mobile, then you are roaming on a different network, not only that, you get a text message to remind you that you are on a foreign network. Hope this helps."
That was quoted from the fido forums.. so apparently its already on fido but because the coding is not right and no official gingerbread support its considered roaming but wont be charged extra money.. I wont be able to know until next month and even still its a risk.

I can't confirm without doing a bit more googling, but that's what it sounded like to me.

Ok i confirmed this info i found on the net and it works fine.
"APN: internet.fido.ca
User: fido
Pass: fido
After calling Fido, it seems that using National Datat Roaming on the Rogers network is allowed, and there is no extra billing since it's what the Nexus has to do as well. Cool. I guess someone can close this if they want."
So I just put that info in and it works.. I can make calls and use data... make sure you click use data roam

/agree again, with any luck we'll see a gingerbread update in the incredibly near future and this problem will cease to exist.
Is there any way to access the service mode menu? I wanted to see which LTE band my phone is on but none of the codes work with my nexus 6.
I'm looking for this too. Anyone?
nope, there no way. you can install the lte discovery app if you want to know which band your n6 is connected to.

doesnt work here. its probably related to you being on verizon, and me being on tmobile. on tmobile, the only code that works is *#*#4636#*#*, and thats to change your data service(can do lte only this way).

it probably will work on sprint as well, if working on verizon. and probably wont work on att either, but thats my guess at least
Sorry...
I apologize for bringing this thread back from the dead but I figured it was worth noting that the USSD code *#*#873283#*#* works on T-Mobile although I have no idea what it actually does. Tired it on my phone and it responded with "check-in succeeded". I googled it and it apparently has something to do with Sprint, even though I'm on T-Mobile??? Strange.....
With all the CM/AOSP clones having similar issues with Data connectivity (lack of handoff, Roaming, improper network names) I thought a thread with the experiences would be a great tool for the Dev's to refer to to help solve this issue.
VERIZON ONLY PLEASE!!!!!
Please use the following format:
ROM:
Kernel:
Radio:
Roaming indicator: Y/N
1X/3G/LTE Handoff Working: Y/N
Comments: Any steps you have tried to get it working (The verizon APN update.zip floating around, ERI fix, ECT)
LTE Discovery Screenshot
I'll update as I can with confirmed working ROM's/Solutions.

I'm stock 5.0.1on Verizon I haven't rooted or unlocked because of these problemsthese problems seems as if at times phone freezes up has 3G or Sometimes 4G but still no Internet connection then finally after sometimes 5 minutes it connects up and it's fine it's not network because my wife's Droid 4 gets 4G kind of embracing. Also seems slow to hook up but decrypting may solve that. Are these the problems you are talking about or is my phone jacked?

This happens on my T-Mobile version. Sorry. I know the OP only asked for Verizon people.
Where is this verizon apn update.zip you speak of? The biggest issue I'm having is not being able to get data through my network extender. I have tried stock, aosp, cm12, all roms have the same issue. Pretty sure its an apn issue.

Not sure what problem is but my droid maxx was same way you have to turn on WiFi to get data but voice does work.

I have a Moto Droid Maxx, and am able to do calls and data at the same time....Can the new nexus 6 on VZW not do this?

Obviously your other phones get data? I'm just asking because the newest network extenders are no longer capable of data connectivity...

Well I wasn't talking to you, but I was just pointing out that some (I may have been mistaken on the "newest") of Verizon's network extender's aren't capable of data connections (such as the network extender for business I had)

I believe all the regular extenders are all the same I know someone who just got one and it's the same as mine. I have had several android phones some work some don't. The Note 4 does Nexus doesn't. Makes no difference you need wifi to make them work anyway so you have data
