Its a tasker like app, you can set predefined rules to execute on actions... so for example: you flick your wrist and app would open..
I believe you can setup connectivity between your phone and your gear also, so if you flick your wrist an app could also open up your phone ? Or atleast this is what iv been led to believe anyway.

Exactly what im thinking, Iv got wemo's all around my house... I cant wait till I can control them via my gear !
All I need is to send a GET request to my home server and I can toggle them, tasker handles this with no problems !
What im hoping to do is trigger tasker profiles using atooma actions..

Cool that it is there...not cool that it erased all my watch faces I already created after I updated. Bummer! I don't really notice any differences...did not see any new options or styles of hands or anything. It's still an awesome app though.

I backed all mine up and still lost them. When I went back in after the restore it's like they couldn't be recognized by the app.

Gear + Note 2 on PA 3.99, now what?

I can not get Samsung App store to install, keeps saying App not installed.
When I install the gearmanage.apk, I get device not supported when trying pair gear to Note 2.
Any advice?

At this stage in order to take advantage of all the features of the gear, Yes..
Theres no other way to receive proper gear notifications at this stage.. Iv attempted to get notifications working with gear manager on CM11, I was able to get the gear to pair up with my phone etc..
Although notifications did not work at all..

I can deal with no notifications for now, I just want to get this darn thing paired.

Pull gearmanagerstub.apk from a stock samsung rom, the latest you can find.. you will have to manually install all the APK's bundled with gear manager also, best way to get these APK's is by decompiling gear manager and pulling them from the "asests" folder..
Although like I said barely anything works.

How many apk's are we talking?
I am surprised there is not a flashable zip for this yet.
I would rather send this back than go to a samsung rom... bummer

As if you weren't aware of this before purchasing the watch ? Hehe..
There are 20 APK's bundled with gear manager, takes 30 seconds to install them.. 2 will not install which are the weather & music control APK's.

Bad luck dude, Samsung roms really arnt that bad anymore..
You have per app dpi on samsung roms now with xposed and removing bloat is simple as.
I would take the high road and give it a try before trying to pair it up on AOSP.

[Q] Galaxy Gear and LG G3

Hi XDA
Recently i dropped my Galaxy S4, the AMOLED screen broke. Instead of ordering a new screen i got a LG G3 instead. I have the Galaxy Gear which i adore and would like to use it with my G3. Is this possible? I've been away from most recent developments in the community. I was running Null's rom.
I do plan to fix my S4 and get a replacement screen. Which place do you recommend me?

Wait, i just clicked on the link.
So i just download the GearManager .apk to the G3 and it works out of the box?!
I want it to pair it with Null, not sure if this new versions of GearManager allow me this. Any how my G3 arrives tomorrow.

I know that null is awesome but the notification with atn ( my g3 need it otherwise i had no notification) are not so good....
With tizen after 56 hr from the full charge, always connected, i had 70% of battery left.

I'm going to be picking up the g3 as long as I can get my watch to work with it. Just want to make sure, do the volume controls for media, phone calls, and weather all work for on the g3 and gear? Oh, and also the template replies since s-voice will not work.

Here my guide:
1- uninstall gear manager with all related apks and reboot;
2- install this gear manager;
3- pair the watch with your phone and check that all works correctly;
4- uninstall goprovider and install this
5- re-enable the notication access in phone settings;
that's all.... i also installed this app that works very good and gave me some custom watchfaces...
With the above configuration i have a really good battery drain... always connected i lose about 1% - 2% max for all night.
credits to @mpogr for the modded goprovider...

I installed the Gear into G3, but i'm not getting any notifications. Is there is a way i can get good notifications in the G3???
I mean better than atn, something that worked like my S4....
I installed the Gear . apk and it just connected and worked with my unrooted G3... flawlessly.. just the notifications i'm missing. I'm with null

Update to tizen? With null u have to use atn but is not as good as stock notification system....

Weird, my exchange mails from work are working good as notifications, gmail sms and viber not. Sometimes there is a delayed notification or there is no one...
What could be wrong?
Also,everytime i got a call, i got it on gear and have to switch to the phone...

For the call is normal also if it's weird... For the other notification are u sure u have config them correctly?

I clicked in gear manager, notifications only these four (gmail,messages,viber and mails)
Also in phone settings security i checked the gear manager
do i have to do something else?
The answering and calling part, have i understood that it cannot be managed so everytime someone is calling i have to switch to phone on my gear before start talking

I've rebooted phone and gear and notifications are working.
Tizen is working great but there are only few watch faces.
Is there any simple method to add phone styles

[Q] Watch Faces

I have searched, but have not found the answer.
I have Multiwatch and Watch Styler, I have no problem getting the faces to load. But most of them do not have all the functions working like the small timers in say Citizen style. Do I need to root the Gear Neo 2 or are these just gimmicks?

Not sure what functions are you looking for: if you design your watch face with Styler you'll see the only options are date/BT/battery...anything else is gimmick.

your watch is messed. i had same issue with multiwatch. some watches wouldnt load some would but only be hands or nothing at all. i reset my watch and reinstalled apk on phone. havent had a issue since. all my watch faces work. rooting doesnt do anything except give you access to remove apps and push ringtones and alerts and so on. and increase volume over all.

LG Watch R / iPhone third party apps

I just got my new LG Watch R. Works fine with my iPhone 6. I can read messages and swipe them away, no promblems there.
Now i would like to use my new watch with sports. Is there any way to install endomundo or something on the watch? Its not neccesary at all to connect endomondo with the iPhone, but i just want to see my speed etc on the watch.
Besides this i have a problem installing watch faces. If i want to install a watchface from the Android wear app it doesn't install anything.

Also you can side load the apps you want that you cannot download through the iphone wear app using adb. I have seen somewhere that they have the google app store running on the watch...

It didn't work for me. When i do the last step i get an dead android Maybe im doing something wrong?

You don't need to root. Just find the phone APK file, rename it to ZIP, find the mobile APK file inside the res/raw folder, and use adb install on it.
This post is about getting a customized watchmaker onto the watch, but you can do the same and skip the part about modifying the APK
