Rogers XT1058 /persist folder - Moto X Q&A

Hi folks,
Anyone with a Rogers Moto X (first gen) care to share their (root)/persist folder? It's useful for connectivity and as you can see on the other WiFi thread, my phone's screwed. The only hope I got now is hopefully by using a similar XT1058's /persist files on my device.
Thanks bunches.

bump.
anybody?

Xt1052 here :/

Were either of you two able to find the /persist files? I'm running an AT&T xt1058 and couldn't find them on the net anywhere. It's really frustrating because whenever trying to turn wifi/bluetooth/cell radio on, they just immediately try to start up and fail. The phone's basically useless, and I've bought the unlocked xt1053 version since failing to find the files a couple months ago.

Thanks -- when I get some spare time, I'll create a thread on recovering a broken XT860 phone using these files and using psouza's tools.
That would be sweet. If you want to post a link in here or link this post in it there would be no need at all for a bell sub-forum. Did you manage to get your phone updated by any chance?
Hey Willis -- Yes, indeed, thank you! Had my phone restored to stock (albeit still rooted). Not being able to get into homescreen had me a little scared there for a bit, but as is well now!

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but you successfully applied the update to your bell droid 3? Could you post a little info on your process? Got a call from bell that my phone is fixed, looks like it was a hardware problem instead of software so I should be able to post a full system image for our phones later this evening.

Where to find a download of 4.4.2 for Moto X Dev Edition GSM

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a download of Moto X Developer GSM Edition for 4.4.2. I've seen a few downloads that are the .XML or a zip, but it didn't contain what I needed, which is specifically the System Folder with App, Framework and Priv-App, etc.
The purpose is I'm having someone assist me in removing the blue from 4.4.2 in menus, toasts, etc.
Thanks for your help guys.
Or, is there a way to draw those assets from the 4.4.2 I have on my phone already?
I don't think it's out yet, not the full file. I think what you see around is just the OTA itself. I checked in the sbf site and didn't see it.

[Q] ANSWERED: Can't install play store apps (Pure Edition US)

QUESTION ANSWERED
I'm unable to install apps from the play store. Tapping install just freezes the play store. I can barely even browse the play store or do anything. Factory reset isn't helping and so far all I've done is unlock bootloader and fastboot boot pure2014sb.zip
What can I do?
Thanks
PS: Does anyone know which firmware on this page is for the US Pure Edition phone? https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images
Try deleting your Google account and clearing the play services cache and data. Then log back in.
Thanks but I already tried that plus factory resetting. I think the pure2014 screwed it up. I need to find out which stock image is the correct one for the pure edition

Well the other GSM images are older versions of android 4.4,4.2.... The ones at the bottom are for Verizon.

Ok. How can I tell the difference between the GSM 2014 model and the GSM Dev Edition from 2013?
I just want to make sure 1000% that I don't flash the wrong firmware on a brand new device.
Thanks

As far as I can tell they're the same. I couldn't find separate sites for them. On my build I have KXE21 and this one has KXA21. I dont think there is any difference, but im not 100%. There's a rooted image on the android Dev section with the E21.

So it looks like those file names are different once Motorola finally shares them with you. They are all for ghost, which if memory serves me correctly is the 2013 model.

Could be. Odd that Motorola would give you the wrong images. This zip has all the moto x 2014 images.

Do not flash the images listed on their site yet. The Moto X 2014 images haven't been uploaded on their website yet, Motorola has posted on their forums that their working on it though.

Thanks for the warning. Owning a first gen model, I thought those firmware names looked a little familiar. Motorola's support is extremely lacking this year save for one nice person who talks to /r/MotoX on reddit. I wonder what happened to their support. So far 3 out of 3 support agents (1 chat, 2 phone call) have mistaken my questions about unlocked bootloaders for GSM locks, and had no idea what a bootloader is, until I explained it to them in severely layman's terms. For now I'm back on my first gen since I sadly need Verizon, and I also "need" the unlocked bootloader.
On the plus side before getting the RMA I did fix the issue. It was a bad root attempt. I skipped the pure2014 method and just used TWRP + flashing SuperSU as if it was a first gen. (second gen TWRP of course)
Thanks for all the help though.

xt1095 bricked help.

i found a thread the other night and i'd like someone with more knowledge on the subject.
hopefully this can get us closer to unbricking our moto x 2014 on our own...instead of relying on motorola.
it has a few downloads as to the necessary files however i only get to an error 'flash failed'
http://wwwdotusoftsmartphonedotcom/t300062.html
thats the actual thread maybe someone can look in to it.
:good:

No it does not help at all. That page has the files for the 2013 moto x, which do not help nor work with our phone. That site has bad info, sorry.

ahh damn lol
For what it's worth...the blankfalsh.bat file does recognize the moto x 2014 and does try to flash...so maybe if we had the correct boot to flash it might work??

That's the problem. We don't have the files. Only motorola has them. Motorola does NOT release them. The only way we will get the files is if they leak. So until that happens there is no way to fix a hard brick.

Moto X (2013) Republic Wireless latest SBF?

I have been searching for stock firmware for the republic wireless moto x. So far I haven't found anything, and previous versions do not work when flashing with fastboot and mfastboot. If any kind soul could find or extract the SBF files for the LPA23.12-39-R-19 build that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Senior Member S5610,
I'm NOT the original poster @peacefulness. But I'm yet another user of Moto X 2013 (with carrier Republic Wireless). My phone suddenly can not boot. You can read detail description in my post in Republic Wireless forum (https://community.republicwireless.com/message/527954). And this happened to start at one week after the OP wrote this thread.
So, dear S5610, did you hint that you could possibly provide that ROM, after you hear a sound reason? Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Sorry, I don't have it either, but I know how to push system partition on bootloader locked device.
How exactly it can not boot? Did you try to flash kernel, modem? Here is dump from -19.
I'm sure they will release LPA23.12-39-R-19 later, because service facilities need it.

I know this thread is kind of dead, but if you do know how to push system on a locked device, could you please show me how? Bricked phone while experimenting in fastboot.
