I just software unlock my Note 3.
There is a signal bar but I can't text or call it says that I don't a service available. Please help!
Is software unlock really not that realiable?
Do you mean you rooted your phone?
if yes, rooting should not affect anything, if sim unlock,
What is your phone carrier before unlocking?
What is your current carrier?
How you unlocked your phone?
thanks @abofihmi for the reply..
I paid a guy to software unlock my phone from AT&T, he changed my IMEI and there it worked..

Hi. The day I got the HTC One (from Bell) I went through the "unlock bootloader" and rooting process. Everything went fine and I've been using various ROMs and Kernels.
My question is: Is my phone "unlocked" as in able to be used with other carriers? I thought that's what unlocking the bootloader is.
I'm asking this because I got a SIM card for cheap roaming in the US, which I tried to test yesterday. When I booted the phone after putting in the Roam sim card, it prompted me to enter an 8 digit access (or pin) code. I had no idea what that was. And when I called support they said I would get that prompt if my phone wasn't unlocked.
So... is unlocking bootloader the same as unlocking from a specific carrier?
Yes, you can use all carrer if your phone isn't SIMLocked by the carrier.
So, seems that your sim is blocked, 8 digit for pin is the puk for unlock your sim.
How can I know 100% if my phone is unlocked? (other than inserting a SIM from another carriers). Is there something in settings that indicates unlocked?

I'm not sure what you mean. The phone was originally branded with Bell Canada. Then I unlocked the bootloader and rooted.

Unlocking the bootloader has nothing to do with unlocking the phone to use on other carriers. Your device is still SIM locked If you want to be able to use your phone with another carrier's SIM card, you will have to find a website that provides such service, like cellunlocker.netcellunlocker.net

Hello!
I have a Sony Xperia Z1 C9603
Currently running
757 by [NUT] ( I followed this guide he have in Z1 General section )
I'm currently locked to the carrier "3 (Three)" and i wish to have it SIM-Unlocked so i can use my other SIM-Card i have,
Is this possible?
Because no matter what FTF i choose the phone is still branded and when i start the phone it keep asking me for "PIN-Code To Unlock Network"
So right now i don't have any connection at all on the phone.
Could someone please help me?
Sim lock has nothing to do with which firmware you are running.
You must either speak to your network provider or pay someone in a mobile phone shop to get it sim free
Unlocking the bootloader should allow sim unlock

The only way is to pay for a code, either from your carrier or 3rd party site. Any O2 contract owners can do it for free though.

Might be on the Z1, but I've unlocked boot loaders on a lot of HTC's and that has resulted In a sim unlock

Not on Sonys, which I've owned a few of. You need a code.
I was wondering if after using the unlock code on my phone, does that mean that the bootloader is no longer locked and that I can flash recovery? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
What do you mean by unlock code?

NO. Not the same, as stated above. The unlock code is for using any SIM card in that phone. The bootloader is totally different. Your bootloader is still locked. You will need to root the phone then install safestrap if you want custom ROM's.
Hi guys i just got the P20 pro, CLT-L04(c69).
its from a carrier called telcel.
i bought this phone used at 2 months old.
so i did not buy it directly from carrier.
i think its network locked. as it has all the telcel branding throughout the eui
can i still unlock bootloader if the carrier is locked? or do i need to get it unlocked from the network first?
my ultimate goal is to unlock bootloader , root it and install up to date firmware. maybe Pie if im lucky.
i dont want to have to spend money for both network unlock and bootloader unlock if i dont have to.
if anyone can tell me if i can just unlock bootloader?
Well asking questions is useless. The P20pro thread is dead by the looks of it.

You can unlock the boot loader without unlocking the carrier.

As the title asks, is anyone actively trying to Root the at&t version of the pixel 4 xl?

Your phone needs to be bootloader unlocked first. If it is, root was available from day one. If it is still locked, then no. AT&T can unlock your phone through tech support. You probably need to be paid off first though.
So I read that sum unlock will bootloader unlock also. How is this done? Through a sim card?
That's what I was just told.. let's see what happens here..

Once sim unlocked, the option to enable bootloader unlocking in developer settings will become available iirc.
No idea whats up with using a new sim card to sim unlock, if that's actually true or if that guy is full of it. The other thread mentioned its a server setting that needs to be done on ATT's side.

Only AT&T can SIM unlock your AT&T phone. Once your phone is paid off in full, wait 24 hours and then call AT&T tech support or go into an AT&T store. They will SIM unlock the phone, and then the "toggle OEM unlock" option will be available for you to unlock the bootloader.

I always thought it was done via pin input. I know the pixel 4 is different. When I was on chat with at&t I made it clear I wanted to use the dual SIM function in the phone and that it needed to be sim unlocked in order to do so. Supposedly this new sim that's bei g sent to me will sim unlock... IDK.we will see I guess
