That can be normal. I think the SIM card needs to be in there for it to work perfectly.
I believe this situation came up because I inserted the SIM cards while the power was on. I then turned the phone off but the SIM cards were not recognized from then on.
When I try to dial a call, a message comes up saying "Airplane mode is on". Of course, the airplane mode in OFF. The WIFI works normally which indicates that the airplane mode is off.
I have tried these ROMs: XT1068 Dual Sim ALL RETAIL KXB21.85-27 LATEST and RETAILDSDSALL_XT1068_4.4.4_KXB21.85-23_cid7_CFC.
I even tried reinserting the SIM cards with the phone on, on purpose this time, to see if I could reverse the situation but to no avail.
I have a complete backup of the original rom and I have tried.
I would be gratefull for anyone who can give me help.

I sent the moto G 2014 to the lab for repair. After a full month at the repair shop, I was told it would required a new board and the price would be slightly less than a new phone.
Hello community.I have this cell that came with T-mobile android 4.3.I flash it to 4.4 stock firmware and then to 5.1.1 10.7.A.0.222 through OTA.The thing is that every time i put a sim on it the phone detect the new sim card and reboot after it boot up it shows like there is no sim in it i noticed too that the option "network operators" in "mobile networks settings" is missing. right now i have no clue of what could it be.I don't think that is hardware related problem because the phone recognize when the sim is plugged in or out, i try sims from At&t and lycamobile .Any idea? anyone in the same situation? thanks for read

this usually happens when you change a rom and sometimes do mess with your modem files . try flashing then in fastboot
So im using a dual sim exynos variant of note 8. I have one sim installed in first slot, and a second sim with extrender into the second slot with sd card. It worked flawlessly until PIE. Now, the os recognises the 2 sim and sd card too, but guves me an error like: there is something in my sim tray slot.. Anyone know how can i get rid of this message and use my phone like before?
Thanks for the help!
I think that Samsung may have blocked the use of this feature with the Pie update.

Same happened with me also, I'm searching for a solution.
Found same issue in S9/S9+ and they solved it with Xposed mode or something.
Any solution for note 8??
Android 9 updateblocked 2 sim and memory card
Is there any way to use dual sim and memory card in android pie withot root?
I have the same problem here after pie update. Before the update I had no issues at all. Using 2 SIM + memory. No root. Only using original software. Hopefully somebody can find a fix.
