Stupid question here, but I kind of want to flash this. However, my last flash.....Kind of nearly screwed over my device and it took me almost a day to fix it. However, I feel more confident in doing it now, but still have some questions.
- I have Unlocked my bootloader, Rooted and flashed TWRP. Do I still need to de-crypt the filesystem before flashing this?
- Last time I decrypted using a tutorial here, I dropped from 64GB to 23 GB of file storage. After multiple resets, factory resets and wipes, I still didn't get my storage back. Only after I re-flashed Stock completely I got it back. Did I mess up somewhere?
- The ROM uses the Sensei Kernel it seems. Do I need to flash this beforehand? Or is it included within the ROM?
- Which G-apps are exactly stripped from the g-apps package?
Question - why did my flashlight toggle disappear? I did actually turn it on when I was first setting up the rom, but on a reboot it's gone.

No you don't have to un-encrypt. And after you un-encrypt and it shows less storage space you have to either factory reset or wipe data and it will show the right space. As for sensei it's built in with the ROM but you can flash any other kernel.

Alright, I'll test it out today then!
Firstly thanks for the ROM, great work, seems really smooth and with the stock gapps package is just like it was out of the box, only better!
My only question is regarding the volume rocker, I want this to only control the media volume, not the ring/notification volume. Can seem to find where I do that, or is that not baked into CM12?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Build 106 freezes at the language selection screen after the first boot. It then goes into a bootloop. Wiped everything beforehand. Too bad :/ took ages to download for some reason as well

No one else has reported that. I wonder why. And I get over 5MB a second from the server. I do have a fast connection though.

I'm on a 180mbit wired connection. I normally download with slightly over 20MB/s so this really surprised me. I've tried multiple reinstalls last night because I really wanted it to work, but it kept going into a bootloop for some reason. I'll wait for 107 to be out and flash that

Yes, Thanks to the OP. I am sure this thread will allow more data, (glitches, malfunctions and errors to be identified with a larger sampling, that can be filtered to make it easier for Mike to concentrate on the more important issues.) And also a question for Besttt; I was wondering how the progress on Slimbean 4.3 is coming along? :good:

Awesome work. Sometimes the Google Chrome closes when he's got so many things to do at the same time.
Just tested the 3G and is working like a charm and i did 11900 on Antutu Benchmark 3k better than Kitkat and something about 2 times the stock rom. Great work!
PS: my phone is the 8190lubamb1 from Brazil.
I've tried your rom and wow it's great. 3g is working.
Hope you'll fix the following issues in your next release.
*call feature
*camera
*audio (sometimes playing on receiver)
*led
*microphone
*settings>advanced (fc)
*icons (old)
Edit: please update the browser to lollipop as well
Someone did a Benchmark to put the numbers on the table? I did 12k on antutu benchmark 5

I have managed to patch up almost everything audio related. But there's still a glitch with in-call audio. While the blobs seem to initialize now: http://paste.omnirom.org/view/263fcbc1, cscall_omx still bails out at line #3777 (apparently)
Will try with the audio.h amendement, haven't done that yet.

Kernel settings
Hi,
Thanks devs for this great ROM, I'm loving it!
I have 2 questions:
- Which kernel settings should I use to have a better battery life? Which CPU governor? Which hotplug: Intelliplug or MPDecision?
- How can I improve the audio quality (headphones and speaker)? Do I have to use a kernel program (like Trickster)? Which settings do I have to change?
Thank you very much. Any tips will be really appreciate it!

Are there any plans to implement vibration intensity control? I absolutely love this ROM/Kernel, but this phone has far too strong of a default vibrate setting. Or, maybe the setting is there and I just couldn't find it?
Also, did anyone else experience issues restoring apps via Tibu when coming from the AICP-9.0 5/1/15 nightly using Franco Kernel r28? Oddly specific, I know. Tibu was getting caught up trying to restore certain apps (XDA-Developers was one, amusingly) regardless of using Direct or Indirect mode.
kernel tweaks?
I was wondering if unicorn blood is the only kernel that can be used with DU? Also does anybody have any tips/guides for tweaking the kernel for the optimal setting? Any input would be great!

I've had success getting DU to run with Franco r28 and the latest zen, but with the great combination of battery life and speed I don't see any reason to run a kernel aside from Unicorn Blood. Having the kernel developed by the same team alongside the ROM is a great way to have everything play nicely together without bloat.

Radio issues?
I flashed the latest last night. Coming from rooted stock LMY47M. Verified was using correct APN. Had a lot of issues with dropping carrier signal and data. Also connected Chromecast to phone hotspot. Connected fine but the phone didn't see it to cast screen.
Connected iPad to phone hotspot and it couldn't see the Chromecast either.
Had to restore nandroid back to stock to get things working again.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

This rom is top notch, I also thought I wouldn't trade stock because of the Moto apps, but this has all that I need, thank you developers! <3
Is it possible to odex this rom? It would free 600 MB or so from /data, and /system, has plenty of space.

I don't know whether it would make a difference, but I flashed successfully using TWRP version 2.8.5.0. You could try downgrading it to see if that helps, or try installing from OTG instead of internal memory.

Ambient e tela de bloqueio
Fala galera...
Fazendo isto, eu perco as notificacoes ambiente...
alguem sabe como tirar a lock padrao do android e manter a notificacao ambiente, e também, ja aproveitando, como gravar ligacoes, sem usar o xposed?
The green light doesn't work for me on 1092. Doesn't matter how i set it (length and speed) when i get new message, email or missed call, it's jut constantly on. It doesn't blink. I'ts only for me? Very nice rom anyway!

Yes it does: IR sensors gestures (wakeup, silence call, etc), twist for camera, chop chop for flashlight, etc.
I'm having an issue with GPS not working, only battery saving location mode. Couldn't find info about it. Any clues? Cheers!
Edit: [SOLVED] The GPS bug seems to be a known issue with cm12 (quite random bdw), but there's a workarround: before flashing (or return to stock) lock GPS with -for example- GPS Locker app. Then flash the rom restore GPS locker and unlock GPS. Everything ok now.
Just had a severe crash
I wans't sure where to post this but using my moto xt1095 on att just had a severe crash using this cm12.1. Every time I booted it would only have the navigation bar and status bar. It happened when browsing reddit on "reddit is fun" not my first time doing so and it froze for a long time and not even wiping the cache has helped, I'm still working on it. Just thought I would let someone know.

Awesomest ROM i have tried so far on my Moto X (2014). Abolutely, love it! Can't thank you enough for your hard work. Keep it up!
As a result of doing further research, it turns out, that Google Now does support the Alway-On feature, meaning you can invoke it even when the screen is OFF. Having said that, it only allows it for Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Note 4. As we all know, Moto X was the first phone to actually support the always listening mode, it will be awesome, if we can possibly, tweak Google Now's internal settings (or do some other tweak as necessary) in order to make it believe that it is running on Nexus 6 device. Hence, it would show the "Always-On" feature. Now, the reason I am suggesting such a hacky solution is because I have reasons to believe that Google Now has implemented a software level thing to discover what device it is running on. Hope that helps.
Please let me know your thoughts on this.
Best!
Ok Google : Always-On feature
Since I started using this ROM, one thing that I dearly miss is the touchless controls. Upon doing some research, it turns out, that Google Now does support the Alway-On feature, meaning you can invoke it even when the screen is OFF. Partition, Screenshots, Bug Reports
Hey, got some questions after installing this ROM:
1. Unused System Partition: Is it possible to change the Partition Size. I have 1968 MB unused Space at the moment.
2. How to take screenshots?
Code:
[INDENT]Settings/Interface/Buttons/Navigation Ring -> Select Screenshot[/INDENT]
3. Is there a bugtracker installed somewhere? Support Page on Homepage is not working.
I moved those questions from the orignial Thread to keep it clean.
Edit:
2. Answered. Thanks GalloClau
For screenshot:
Go to settings/interface/buttons/navigation ring targets and choose from the available shortcuts, one of then is the screenshot.

This is a beta, working build of LineageOS 14.1 for markw, Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime. As many here already know, I had a problem with my phone while developing this, my USB port snapped out of place, so I can't continue development at this moment. Actually, only will be able to fully resume it when I can get my hands on a new phone / fix mine, which is something ongoing. Anyways, through the help of many members from this forum, we were able to make sure the basic rom works, so people can have a taste of Nougat, if they can live with the compromises. Source is also coming up, so other people hopefully can fix what was left broken during my time procrastinating from developing . No fancy announcements, JUST READ to make sure you understand everything BEFORE INSTALLING!
What works: Everything, except,
- Camcorder in Snap (use another camera application to record videos - Stills work just fine);
- Fingerprint;
IMPORTANT INFORMATION (READ THIS SECTION 7 TIMES, AT LEAST, BEFORE POSTING ANY LUDICROUS QUESTIONS):
- Rom is based on stock 8.2.4.0, therefore ADVANCED REBOOT ONLY WORKS WITH 8.2.4.0 BOOTLOADER!
- BE AWARE THAT HW ENCRYPTION FROM 7.1 DIFFERS FROM 6.0 (WHICH OUR RECOVERY IS BASED ON), THEREFORE, IF YOU HAVE AN ENCRYPTED STORAGE AND BOOT UP THIS ROM, YOUR RECOVERY WON'T BE ABLE TO READ INTERNAL STORAGE ANYMORE! THIS CAN BE FIXED BY FLASHING A 7.1 BASED RECOVERY (WHICH I WILL COMPILE, BUT NEED TESTERS, SINCE I CAN'T DO IT MYSELF) OR SIMPLY BY HAVING AN NON ENCRYPTED STORAGE (See Guide by @Modest Mind - https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-4-prime/how-to/redmi-4-prime-pro-markw-how-to-disable-t3594239). THEREFORE: I STRONGLY SUGGEST ONLY PEOPLE WITH NON ENCRYPTED STORAGE TO FLASH THIS. NO QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS, THINGS ARE DIFFERENT, SIMPLE AS THAT!
- Flash it normally (Rom + Su addon for 14.1, arm64, GAPPS). Reboot to ROM.
That's it for now

Great work @jacoghi. Thanks mate.
Since a decrypted phone is highly recommended before flashing this rom (at this early stage) here is a small guide as how to disable encryption on your Redmi 4 Prime (markw):

There is already one Nougat rom with no flickering issues, maybe that will help you fix your problems? Thanks for trying out, hopefully this will become a fully working ROM some day.
This is great news. Can't wait the stable version for daily use:good:
Anyone tested Fingerprints?

Sources are up. @Modest Mind, thanks for the tip, I'm adding that to op. Thanks again, my man.
Hey guys, I tested the ROM and I can not wait to use it every day, its running very smooth, Fingerprint doesn't work :/, I also installed the GAPPS and it worked very well no FC or error.
It would be useful to indicate the procedure for installing 14.1. For example:
Reboot to recovery
Wipe system, cache, dalvik / art cache, date
firmware_V8.2.4.0
Flash rom zip and gapps
Reboot
Thank you for your work @jacoghi, I'm glad that you have built a bootable build of Los 14.1, I'm looking forward to trying it out. I'm also really thankful that you have released sources on github, many devs will appreciate it in my opinion. Thank you again, keep up the good work!
