I have stock firmware, does not happen to mine.

Doesn't happen on mine either

Not here also.
This looks like it should be covered with warranty if you ask me.

Happened to me to, you can look at my topic. http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/help/display-problem-t2960013/post57215921#post57215921
It happened when i wanted to charge with micro usb or magnetic charger. Even if i wanted to switch on/off the stamina mode. You can try to turnon/off it few times in a row. My solution was: Go to Settings-Power management-Stamina mode-and turn off the extended usage. I think it's just a bug, because it is just if the extended usage is on... Hope it helps )

Can`t turn my Xeperia Z on

Hi,
i got my Xperia Z yesterday and already have a problem. Yesterday in the evening i listened to some audible content. I didn´t turn off the app, because it goes in sleep mode after finishing the downloaded part. I had stamina mode active. Today my phone doesn´t react. It is off the screen is dark. I can push the powerbutton how i want, the phone doesn´t react. I tried to recharge it, because i thought the battery was completly empty, but i don´t even have the led active which is normally active when you plug in your phone.
Does anybody have had the same issues? And can give me a hint what to do? Otherwise i will have to change the device tomorrow. It´s my first sony, so perhaps there is a trick with it i don´t know.
Take it back.

Can some1 check temps?
Might be a safe mode of sorts due to overheating?
Sounds like this is a common issue on the forums.
i don´t think its because of overheating. Today it was two times in sleepmode for a bit longer, and after both i had to restart it with the method mentioned above. I think it is a software failure. Maybe something with the staminamode. I will switch the staminamode off and wait if it happens again.

I imagine a small firmware update will fix this. Be sure to report it to Sony every single time it happens.
Yes, i will do that. Bsides this bug, i´m very satisfied with the experia z, even with the battery life.

You don't have choice if the phone freezes
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Ever since they introduced non-removable batteries with XS ( and I still have a bone to pick with Sony regarding that choice ), they introduced a hardwired phone reset/shut down combination that is accessed via volume up+power button, that apparently by the sound of this thread, still functions the same as it did with S.
I've had my Xperia S freeze in middle of something ( can't remember what ) after it went to standby mode, and the only way to fix it is either to wait for your battery to die, or to manually reset the phone via volume up+power button combo.
It's safe to perform as much as you'd like, it just resets the phone or shuts it down, depending on how long you keep it pressed. It saved my Xperia S from water damage on one occassion, although I guess I won't have that problem with Z.
The same thing happens with my nexus 4.. Its somewhat related to hardware I guess. Cos xperia z and nexus 4 are very simpilar in case of hardware. around 10% people are facing such problems on nexus 4. Its a hardware problem I guess..

Galaxy Note won't turn on. Weird behaiviour.

Hi,
I have a Galaxy Note GT-N7000. It was working properly until some day it did not turned on.
When the phone is unplugged form the USB port the phone does nothing, no power, no Download mode, nothing. Even thou I fully charged the battery with an external battery charger... You press power button and nothing shows.
When I plug the USB charger the one sign of life I get is the battery charging icon (image attached)... which shows and then goes blank every 10 seconds. That's all I can get from the phone...
I checked other posts and they say it might be a broken USB port, So i disassembled the phone and removed the USB port flex to check if it might be short circuiting the board; but no luck. When I remove the USB port the phone does nothing.
Any ideas? Could it be the phone has a broken USB port and that the phone can't power without usb port?

Nope. No flash.
Do you think its a software issue or a hardware one?

I cant say it to 100% beacuse I am not an expert but it looks like a software defekt, and you wrote that you loaded your battery at an external station so your phone must reboot (cause your battery is full) but it doesnt. I think that your completely system is deleted and if you cant switch to recovery or download mode have you an big problem.

Your not getting an emmc hardbrick unless you flashed something in a silly fashion at some point more likely recently than not.
Did you try a different battery or not?
From a cursory review the first thing to try is a new battery and or new cable.
I am not sold yet that this is an issue with the main board or the DC in board.
+1 for new battery.

Even with the 1000mhz bug, the battery wont drain when charging even from the lower powered usb port
You could try and use another battery for a while and see what happens. If that diesn't help i think you should go back to stock and see what happens.
If these answers don't help, then i guess that your charging port is broken and you probably should unroot the device so you can use the waranty...
I went to a samsung centre and bought a new battery and a new charger and it is working fine right now thanks for your answers people .

Audio Starts Loud Then Lowers

So my best friend just got a Nexus 6 not too long ago, but seems to be facing an issue where all Music/Sound starts playing loud when you first start it but after a few seconds the volume becomes very low. We have flashed custom roms as well as used stock and still face the issue. We have searched the forum threads and cant seem to find anything that fixes it.
Any help would be appreciated.
I had this issue and replaced it no problem. This motorola qc is really bad

[SOLUTION] Phone shutting down with battery not empty

This solved my problem regarding the phone turning of at 50% battery or 37% etc. You will see after applying the settings the battery percentage will change and show the real battery life.
I got this solution from a Google tech.
1) Power off your phone.
2) Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons. This will put the phone in fastboot.
3) Use the Volume buttons to scroll through the menu until you see "Bootloader logs"
4) Press and hold the power key for a long time (7+ seconds) until the phone reboots.

After days and days of searching and trying a zillion things without success and just as I was ready to RMA the phone I stumbled upon this suggestion in the Google forums. It was posted by a Google tech somewhere in the middle of a really big thread that I couldn't find again. No I didn't find this by myself but wanted to share for users to be able to find it easily.

I returned my phone a few weeks ago because of this issue and got a replacement from Motorola . I do notice certain kernels will create this situation moreso than the stock rom or stock kernel will not create this issue so that's also something to think about.
However, thanks for the insight should my replacement phone display the same symptoms.
Edit: interesting, I just tried your suggestion and my battery went from 91% to 66%.
I am on the validator kernel using the suggested settings.

On occasion at work but not at home. Sounds like another cause. Why would it if I may ask?
I actually find them to be silly as you must plug the charger base via USB which I can do with phone! Just another step IMHO including finding the sweet spot when resting on charger.

I will be using the phone for 6-7 days without the wireless charger to see if the problem comes back. If it doesn't I will then use the wireless charger and see if problem shows up. By using a regular 5v charger instead of the idiotic 5/9/12v charger that came with it.
I am having the below issue.
1. If phone is around the 30% mark, and I receive a call, it would just switch off.
2. If i reboot the phone with it being around 30% mark, it will just switch off after displaying the lockscreen.
Is this behavior that is same as the one in the thread?
I tried the mentioned steps and my battery percentage stayed the same. It also shows the same battery percentage in TWRP.

Yes exactly the same problem. Keep pushing the power button a few seconds longer after phone switches off. My problem was fixed but a week later it came back. For others it was fixed permanently. There's a lot of people with this problem and they keep increasing. I fear that certain wireless chargers are causing it. Are you using a wireless charger?

No I am not using any wireless charger. I only use the turbo charger at home and a 2A N7 charger at work.
I am waiting for 5.1 and will run it for a few days to test . Hope that 5.1 will fix this issue.
Also Google suppport asked me to reboot into safe mode and see if the issue is still there.
Just tried this and it went from 82 to 85%.
I have an issue where the phone turns off at 5%
I have this problem currently with my N6 and it is beyond madding.
First it would do it only when the phone was getting to 30~35% tried the fix.
Now the phone crashes it all the time. 80% crash, charge for a little bit use again 85% crash, charge to 100% use streaming a movie from google play 65% crash. now im going to try a custom rom to see if that will fix it.
tried the fix several time only seems to make it worse.
even with a blank install after reinstalling the stock img the phone will crash.
