OTG Support - LG Optimus L90

Helo, works usb otg on LG L90 ? I found this cable http://www.amazon.com/Micro-USB-Data-Transfer-connecting-compatible-Accessory/dp/1059997738 and i dont know will cable work ...

AFAIK USB-OTG is not supported by either L90 devices.

The USB OTG support is related to kernel. But so far the stock one does not support this function. Maybe if we were to receive a modified kernel, it could be made available.

[Request] USB Host mode for Milestone

the droid has the possibility to use the usb host feature with a modified usb cable (witch doesn't work on the milestone), and the nexus one can use it with a modified kernel....
Anybody knows if there is a way to get the usb host working on a milestone? e.g. some kernel module or something else?
Connect the USB-Host "dongle" to your Milestone prior to see the Motorola bootscreen, then disconnect it and use a USB OTG cable to connect every device you want to your Milestone.
It works.
EDIT: See here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=726210
not working for me
i'm doing something wrong cuz my milestone don't want to recognize anything... i made a cable with a litle switcher, not "dongle". running on froyo, but also tried 2.1... i don't understand...

HTC One and USB Host Mode (for DVB-T Dongle)

Hi,
I used a tivizen pico USB DVB-T Micro USB Dongle on my Xperia Arc and on my Xperia V.
But HTC One says "Device not supported" and (when dongled off) "Device cannot be charged"
HTC Support says USB Host Mode is not supported and only following protocols would work on thieir devices :
Charging
Mass Storage
Media Transfer
PC Connection Mode
But I can use a Wireless dongle via OTG Cable (for Keyboard/Touchpad Use) without problems.
Does this not use USB the Host mode protocol ???
Anybody here who is deeper in the matter to help me solving my confusion ?
Anybody knows if HTC One can recognize the device
(My One is rooted)
Thanks

You can flash custom kernel to get it working. The HTC One USB OTG is buggy. Flash this kernel and check if its working let me know as well so that I can root my phone otherwise I dont want to root.

I tried elementaryX 1.1 too :
DVB-T Yes
but no cam. :crying:
Seems to be, that cam only works when I upgrade to ROM 4.2.2 (I have Stock 4.1.2)
****, then I need to install everything new via backup or manually...
P.
I am running the Sprint HtcOne with ViperOne rom 5.7 and Most Thumb drives work with the OTG cable (Except 16GIG PNY will NOT work )
Generic , Toshiba ,and SanDisk seem ok from there 2 gig to 32 gig thumb drives. I use the SanDisk as a storage when I backup my phone through TWRP for recovery.
I do have a Mobius Action camera (physical size of camera is not much larger than a thumb drive.which has a 32 SanDisk in it and IT will NOT work as a Thumb drive even though the Sellers of this Camera says it will work as a thumb drive on mobile phones running Android but so far I have tried many phones ( HtcOne,Samsung S4 ) have NOT been able to get it to work. I only get a message ( can not charge device )
I have never tried that TV tuner but I would like to try it and see if it would work.
Where else would I get one of those at a reasonable price.

Currently Chromecast can only use USB OTG for firmware flashing. OTG isn't available in the normal booted state.
So if you're asking whether you can connect a USB hard drive on a USB OTG cable connected to Chromecast for playing/accessing stuff on it, No.
If you're trying to use a USB hard drive for FlashCast ROM/mod flashing, I'm not sure if that will work.
In either case, you need a powered OTG cable, as Chromecast does not provide power on the USB - it expects to receive it there.

Ok but did you mean that its impossible to connect an Hard drive to stream an Video from it with flashing the device or without ok without it wont work i know but with an Custom Rom or root ??
You may be able to enable it with a custom kernel.
But even then you'd need a way for playback. you could start a dlna server but in this case doing that with another device would be the same result.

As @m11kkaa said, it might be possible with a custom kernel, but no custom kernel exists AFAIK, and Chromecast is not like a typical Android device which is easy to modify or do custom development for.
Also, even if you got support, you would need a Chromecast-side app that can access the content, and an Android-side app to browse/control it, which seems like a lot of work when you can already achieve the same functionality via DLNA or storage connected to the casting device, rather than storage connected to Chromecast itself.

OTG & Charging

I want to use my Thea in my car, as a media player. Therefore, I want to connect a USB device (DAC) and charge the phone at the same time. This is possible, but should be supported by the kernel. My Thea on LineageOS 14.1 does not seem to support this. Are there any custom kernels that support OTG plus charging? I haven't been able to find one..
You should ask one of the kernel devs for this device if they can add this feature. Most peoples will connect their Android via BT.
Try a custom kernel, there are plenty of them around here.
Or try this solution:

A30 Lineage OS 16 USB OTG connection problem

Hello everyone,
Just installed Lineage OS 16 on my A30. Then I connect a VGA OTG, an USB hub 3.0 OTG. The VGA did not work. The USB hub only worked with storage drive plugged in. I tried to connect a USB network adapter (AWUS036H and AWUS0365ACH), with an app called USB OTG Checker, the phone seems to be able to detect those devices, but not about the working.
Do I need to install some drivers for the phone to work with those external devices?
Thank you.
are you using the lineage GSI ? if so it is a bug that can be fixed by a developer once we actually have custom roms for our device. Try other Gsi from the A2O, you might find one that does not have bugs

Thank you for answering. I use Lineage GSI treble (lineage-16.0-20190910-UNOFFICIAL-treble_arm64_bvN). Just installed stock rom again, but still have problem with the OTG connection (I couldn't switch to "This device" when choosing controlling device, there was only charging signal), although they said the Samsung A30 support OTG.
