Nice stuff. Wonder if I could decide what keys I want and their order, though.

I was thinking about putting one together with menu on the right instead of the left. If there's a specific order you want, let me know and I should be able to whip it up.

Note: Sorry my mistake, flash this to blisspop 1,6 and work like a charm...
Would you please make this menu to the right side or maybe there is an option to choose right or left side

Or maybe just tell us a bit about the method you used so I could decompile and scramble together any combination whenever I want?

I've used this guide whenever making changes to the nav bar: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/30278-how-to-step-by-step-guide-to-add-menu-and-search-soft-keys/
There are very slight differences in the smali code and the navigation_bar.xml. When I have a little more time, I can post the code with what the differences are. To reorder the buttons, really all that needs to be done is putting the code in navigation_bar.xml in the order you want the buttons to appear. I will have a mod made which puts the menu button on the right side at some point today.
OP updated. Added menu to the right side for each color and also updated the original mods. The buttons were slightly skewed when the screen was rotated so this has been fixed.

Stock Android 2.3.1 (which Nexus S) uses doesn't have that.
PS. Is it really necessary to write in bold/red/italics? Man it was annoying having to edit the quote to remove all that.
my work around is to stick the Power Control widget on a screen of my choice
it's included with stock Android
but there is no option to attach it to the status screen

Yeah, that's what I thought
to above user, i loove to use different fonts/color/size.
well, i was looking for the powercontrol for the statusbar, as the statusbar is accesible everywhere, when desktop is not, as i recall

Again, CM has the setting to change the colors and the items in the status bar power widget
Widgetsoid does a great job at a power control widget and it is free.

I've missed this from my Galaxy S too, but the best work around I've found is Quick Settings - search on appbrain (cant post links as I'm 'new') and configure it to display in the notification shade, but to hide the icon in the notification bar.
If there is another solution to properly get buttons as on the Galaxy S ROMs (other than the often suggested - "flash CM7") I'd love to hear of it though. I know the notification shade can't be edited by a simple .apk, but this isn't the first time I've seen this request and would have thought it really ought to be possible somehow without delving into the deepest darkest recesses of the android system -but of course I am probably wrong
I just wanted to share this three part Honeycomb style icon(s). I use it with ADW Launcher, but you may be able to use it w/ Launcher Pro (I don't know if it lets you use 3 icons all linking to the app drawer like ADW does).
this is the new look. I made an icon for the dialer; I had tried a few but a lot of them were too tall to fit well with a lot of the cool dock backgrounds that were added to the Honeycomb ADW theme (without being resized really small), so I made a dialer icon to match the height of the apps+ button.
here you go:
this is the (new) look for the dock will be achieved:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
matching dialer icon:
for the remaining icon in between, i just used a blank (completely transparent) .png file so it wouldn't have the little "+" plus sign in between
I linked this icon to the dialer as well, so if you press anywhere on the left side of the dock it goes to the dialer and anywhere on the right it goes to the app drawer. this worked out nicely. i actually like this interface better than stock and i changed it for aesthetic purposes only.
this is the old/alternate version without the dialer if you like the centered look
(they are white w/ a transparent background so they don't show up well on this page, but they are there)
Pt 1
Pt 2
Pt 3
P.S.
here are 2 other misc icons i made to go w/ the Honeycomb theme
Well done. Thank you.
Thanks mate!!!

Can you also link that dock if possible? Thanks!
it is one of the included dock backgrounds in the free honeycomb adw theme in the market. i can try to post it tommorrow if you just want the image.
Thanks for the tip, I was able to extract it from the apk !
great. i didn't want to post them, since i don't want to share somebody else's property w/o permission. this is my first thread and I am kinda sketch about that kinda thing.

If you use a Honeycomb ROM on your GTablet, you would have noticed that the bottom status bar in Honeycomb is persistent and no app seems to be able to get rid of it. Well, this is a feature of Honeycomb which allows you to use a device without hardware button for function like "Back", "Home", "Menu", etc.
For many users, this "persistent status bar may not be a problem. But if you feel like that status bar is "cramping your style" (perhaps you have a movie scaled perfectly for the GTablet and you want to watch it in it's full screen glory) and you know that the GTablet hardware buttons gets you where you want to go, you now have a way to getting rid of that status bar.
dima_tr @ TabletRoms has developed a small app which toggles (show/hide) the Honeycomb status bar at will. He has shared this app along with the source code at TabletRoms (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=App-to-toggle-Statusbar-in-Honeycomb-works). I have merely mirrored his work here in an attempt to share this with the community here at XDA.
Once installed, this app does not create any icon in the launcher. To use this app, you have the long-press the "Search" button". Upon doing so, you will see a pop-up with a list of apps with "Statusbar Toggle" as one of the apps (see the first screenshot below for an example). Selecting Statusbar Toggle will toggle on/off the status bar. You may choose the make this the default action for the Search button long-press action.
As of Flashback Alpha 7.1, this app is included in the ROM update zip.
IMPORTANT:
Please note that this app requires "root" permissions since it does something which is not exposed by the "official Honeycomb API" (i.e., it is not something Honeycomb ROMs allow developers to control).
This is a Honeycomb specific app and will not work on other versions of Android.
I take no credit for this app. All credit goes to dima_tr @ TabletRoms.
Though I have personally tested and used the app on Flashback 7.0 and GTabComb 3.3, I (or the developer) take no responsibility in the unlikely event that your GTablet blows up and wipes you clean off the face of the earth. Use at your own risk. Have fun!!

I am posting this from my GtabComb 3.3 with 1024x27 extra pixels...
Brilliant, +1 for the link.
Thanks
I am on Flashback 7.1 and it works the first time, but after that it brings up a blackscreen with StatusBarToggle across the top, and the statusbar at the bottom. I am not locked but have to hit home to get out of it and the statusbar is always there. As I said it is gone the first time, and if I go in to settings and applications and clear the default settings it works the first time again.
yes! this is something i've been on the lookout for. thanks.
Sweet!

Tried looking for that with search and not even google got me a hint of that (maybe I just suck with searchs), could someone point me in the right direction?

build.prop edit is much better. It will keep the status bar.
The other methods are nasty hacks that run a permanent service which keeps killing the system ui process. This also removes the status bar.

which things i have to change in the build.prop?
@teheda:
there are two ways, one using apps like full screen toggle and LMT or the build.prop edit, as arman said i will try the build.prop
about the font i have no idea
anyone knows which line i have to edit?
thx
The build.prop edit works great. But, make sure you install lmt or similar before you do this;
Download a build.prop editor from market, I use this
Create a new entry and enter this information: qemu.hw.mainkeys
Then set the value to "1"
Reboot, you got fullscreen, now get used to using your lmt or whatever you prefer.
Just to confirm, make sure you have installed an alternative to your newly hidden buttons r you won't be able to control your phone properly!
Hi Guys! please, there`s a way to install Pie Control without root on jelly bean?

Anyone try to swap the navbar to the Samsung way?
I am a long time Note user and after two years still can't get used to the back button on the left. I have tried to get to system ui tuner by holding down the settings "cog". It doesn't even try to spin after 20 of long press.
It's running fire os 5.4.0.1. I have been able to get the Google framework and play store on it with APKs from another device.
Just to add clarification to my post, I have searched this thread for the list below and nothing useful has come up.
-nav
-navbar
-nav bar
-nav swap
-swap
-nav button
The only result was a post that talks about nav buttons with Xposed installed. My device is not rooted.

- Softkeys - home back button from the play store.
It's nice this puts a second nav button bar on top of the FireOS nav bar. If this is the only way to give me access to a right-hand back button. then it will work. However my aim to to emulate the Samsung nav bar.
Here's what it looks like.

- rooted devices can use a Xposed Framework module (eg: gravitybox) to add, delete, rearrange and/or redefine navbar buttons
- aside from the 'home' (center) button navbar buttons can not be changed on unrooted devices
- navbar overlays exist but have various shortcomings that may or may not be significant depending on app suite
Thank you for that clarification.
