Is this a unified build for all carriers?
network issues with xt1093 uscc
great rom! everything seems to work smoothly. the only issue i have had is trying to connect to my network. Do i need to configure the APN to my carrier or is there something i am missing? i installed correctly using TWRP, factory reset, flash zip, cleared dalvik, reboot,....
I'm assuming we'll lose the moto things like active display and the phone talking when at home and on the road?
network issues with xt1093 uscc
Well i flashed back to stock and had the same network issues with my stock rom. i found a number to re-register on the uscc network. it took like 15 seconds on an automated line and everything was setup, could make calls out, receive calls, texts, data,...etc.
I tried to reflash the newest nightly (01/16/2015) and setup the network using the same number from before. Had to change the network config file and modify the APN to my network. the config was LTE/CDMA/GSM auto (PRL) (prior to that it was set to LTE/GSM auto (PRL)) that put me into roaming long enough to dial the setup number. the setup went fine but after it finished......Nothing. i couldnt even force roaming in the network config.
I am thinking this is a modem firmware issue. I dont have an logcat files (working on that now). i tried to flash the stock modem firmware after flashing the nightly but didn't help
Still an awesome rom and would love to get networking running for this device.

I think that the radio is broken on the last couple of nightlies across many different devices. Try an older version and see if you have better luck.
i'm on stock 5.0 rooted xt1092
doing nandroid and flashing last build this evening.
flashed and no problems found, but have no more root permissions, do i have to re-root using chainfire?

Yes sir. I've solved fastbooting again CF. Maybe after format you loose root permissions.
No Network
I've flashed several of the nightlies (both early and most recent) and none of them have a network connection. I've tried factory resets, cache wipe, the usual and no luck. Is there a specific baseband version I need to be on or any APN tweaks I need to do?
[edit] I have the tmo pure edition fwiw.

I don't do anything special on tmo pure edition. I installed the official LP update so I am on the latest baseband (which I recommend using).

I'm pretty sure that's what I'm on. System is 22.21.11.victara_tmo.en.US, build LXE2246-11, and Baseband MSM8974_4125.184.08.27.01R
If that's not the latest let me know and I'll grab the updated ones and flash those through fastboot and try again. If they are is there anything I could grab with the syslog app or adb that might help in figuring it out?

Got it. The APN protocol for fast tmobile com in my stock rom was IPV6, and when I flashed this it was IPV4. Changing that got my data connection working.

I have the T-Mobile pure and left the base as 4.4.4 and flashed cm12. Signal is awesome as are the transfer rates.
I've tried liquid and slim with the same results.
How will the battery? Better or worse than stock?
Works in XT1097, right?
I did a clean flash on my xt1092. On reboot I get a screen that says encryption failed, with a button to do factory reset. Doing factory reset just brings me back to this same screen. I don't even think that my storage is encrypted on stock. Any help?

you have to go into TWRP, then WIPE then Format Data. then install rom and gapps.
you will format your memory loosing everything on your phone. i used to plug an usb otg with rom and gapps files.
double tap
Can we get some double tap to wake love? That was basically my favorite thing about my oneplus one and i put cm12 on that and works great
Let me know if thats going to happen or not because i cant live without that or the moto display
I think double tap to wake is not an interesting feature for a phone. Sure for a tablet but for your victara not. Waking up every two touches is not a good way. Ambient display is the best way for me, as good for looking for notifications as for unlocking.
I prefer power button indeed

Q&A for [ROM] [4.4.4] [VS980] ParanoidAndroid [10/10]

To whom it may concern;
I'm new to the world of programming but have been in the android game since the original g1 with T-Mobile. I've been flashing custom roms and recoveries since then and I have also been doing some very basic coding. C++ and C# primarily. If you would like a beta tester to prevent more tedious and time consuming problems from arising prior to your updates I'm willing to test for you and if you'd think I could be of any programming assistance or would like to show me around the programming world I'd love to take you up on that. Pm me for my personal email if you'd like and I'll get back to you ASAP.
Sincerely,
Mike J.
New to G2...flashed beta-3 and lost VZW LTE/3G data
I recently upgraded from VZW gnex to the LG G2 (bought off swappa). It was rooted already but running stock, and I'm used to AOSP, so I decided to go with Paranoid Android Beta-3. Long story short, I was having issues with LTE so I flashed the latest build (beta 5) and it got stuck in a boot loop. I was able to get back into recovery (TWRP 2.8.0.1) and restore nandroid backup, but when I booted I could no longer get verizon LTE or 3G data. Wifi connected fine, and calls/SMS go fine...just no mobile data. It does connect to "eHRPD" though, which doesn't have any data access.
Things I've tried:
1. Flashing a new bootstack. Tried 12A, 12B, 24A, 25A, 25B, 26A. No data with any of them
2. Flashing a new ROM (Tried Spirit ROM, which flashed fine but no data, and CM11, which went into a bootloop)
3. Calling *228 for a reset
4. Wiping the whole ROM and reflashing the same ROM and Gapps
5. Also tried setting APN as shown on a few websites. But as soon as I hit "Save" the modified APNs disappeared off the list.
Does anyone have any experience with losing LTE/3G like this? Luckily I have my old phone still so I just pop my SIM card back into it and it connects to data fine.
Updates
I am currently running the 10/25 build. When it comes to updates, do I want to flash over my current with the newer? Or is there a different process?
rpc:s-7:aec-0 after flash last night.
I'm getting the [rpc:s-7:aec-0] info from server error on my vs980 since i flashed last night. I flashed 26A, then PA, and then PA micro gapps.
this morning I did a full wipe and clean reinstall of PA, and I tried using the pico Gapps instead of the micro build. same result.
tried clearing google related app data, no fix. any ideas?
to the user with the apn problem, I had to set the apn 3 times before it saved
Love the ROM, great work. Was wondering how I would get Tmobile wifi calling option on this? I'm using the verizon vs980 version. Thanks
What about JDI pannel? PA kernel support JDI panel type?

Hi everyone,
This ROM is great. every things are working well.
But I don't know how to change the "Right hard key's function. I don't want it show the "recent apps" when we press.
It should be a menu key when we using App.
Please support!
Thanks,

no root after flashign WizCyan
After flashing WizCyan 4 with update 1 I don't have root access. I've tried reinstalling several times and I've also tried to install superSU on it's own using CWM, both the latest version and older versions, with no success. I've also tried to install just v4 but the problem persists. Does anybody have any clue on what could be wrong? I've had root on the phone using other ROMs. I use the latest CWM.
And yes, I chose no when promted to fix superuser in CWM. Although I have also tried to pres yes during one installation.
What version of cwm are you having? Also when you click on the supersu app what message do you get?
I used version 6.0.3.5. Today I installed 6.0.5 and redid the flashing of the update and also of superSU 2.16 by it self from CWM. No difference
When i press the superSU app I dont get any message really. Looking at the log it's as if though the app denies all apps access without asking. I tried changing the settings in superSU to allow all requests and then the phone passed the check with root checker and root apps also seem to work. No app is added to the SuperSu applist.

I would suggest that you do a clean install of the ROM, now that your recovery has been updated
Excessive consumption of battery
Sorry, but this was translated by google.
I found a big problem in version 4 and is the battery, prior to this version, the battery works well, the battery lasted the whole day, but now the battery hopefully enduring three hours.
Please, give solution to this problem or any suggestions, as I really like this ROM and do not want to change the other.
Thanks in advance.

Ok, did some testing and found that some of the init.d scripts were eating battery therefore have posted an update in the OP removing these and battery consumption should be better after flashing this update.

Sure, you can install on any firmware, but if you have wifi issues then you may need to flash modem or some other workaround. Just wipe data/factory reset and install version 04 followed by update 02. I am not sure on what you mean by memory but presume that you are referring to internal sd card. This will depend on what apps/features you install from the addon package and playstore. The ROM will not affect your internal sdcard space as it will be installed on the reserved system space.
Problem with Rom Super Wizcyan - S5 Style
Hello, first sorry by my english, its sucks, but ill try to explain my problem, i install the rom wizcyan - s5 style in my I9295 (of course), and follow all the instruction, like de developer says, starts normaly, but for example, when i push the screen mirroring button, the phone freeze an restart, and occasionally shows a message like "android core process stoped". do all the wipes, and install the 6.0.5 rom manager, all the proces finish ok, install the update, and occurs the same problem, i like this rom its cool , faster and light, without all the samsung crap, someone can help me please, thanks in advance.

In case you want to use screen mirroring then you would need to install allshare from the addon package
I've been tinkering with trying to get WizCyan totally working on my device for a couple of days, but I can't for the life of me get Wifi working (at first it was root access, but that was fixed by upgrading CWM). Here is the exact process I've followed:
Updated CWM to 6.0.5 (PhilZ's version)
Did a factory reset from recovery (I didn't use the "Clean to install new ROM" function)
Installed WizCyan version 4, followed by update 2
Rebooted, attempted to configure WiFi -- failed.
Flashed the NE5 modem package from the links in the dev thread, using Odin 3.07 -- twice each, as instructed
Still can't get my Wifi to enable. The flash was successful, as I can see the correct baseband on the "about" screen, but it refuses to enable. I'm in Australia, but I believe this phone came from UAE -- would that make a difference to the way the modem interacts with the Wifi hardware? I pulled this info from logcat:
Code:
I/WifiManager( 1084): setWifiEnabled : true
I/WifiService( 882): setWifiEnabled: true pid=1084, uid=10008
E/WifiHW ( 882): ##################### set firmware type 0 #####################
E/WifiHW ( 882): Cannot open "/data/.cid.info": No such file or directory
E/WifiHW ( 882): ==========[WIFI] Station firmware load ===========
E/WifiHW ( 882): return of insmod : ret = -1, Exec format error
E/WifiStateMachine( 882): Failed to load driver
E/WifiStateMachine( 882): sendErrorBroadcast code:10
E/WifiController( 882): Wi-Fi driver is unstable. Received CMD_STATEMACHINE_RESET
In the mean time, I'm going to try to source either a local radio, or one from the original region, to see if that helps.

Can't get anything much from the logcat, it refers to a file that gets created on 1st boot you can try doing a factory reset from settings--> backup & restore--> factory data reset. Only backup your internal sd card before doing this as it will wipe your entire phone including internal sdcard and then reflash the modem.

Well if I'm going to go that far, I may as well do it properly and completely restore the phone to stock and start again. When I bought it, the first thing I did was root, flash CWM and a CM based ROM -- it's probably worth starting fresh anyway, I'm only going to be using it for a couple more weeks until it's replacement arrives.
I'm currently downloading the latest firmware for my region (XSA), a 4.2.2 based MK3 build from the end of last year -- do you think I'd have better chances if I restored to a 4.4.2 build (like NE5), or should it not matter if I completely reset the phone to factory settings/software?

Generally doing a factory reset from the phone resets the entire firmware and is helpfull to resolve such issues. if you want to install the entire firmware, I would recommend flashing the 4.4.2 PHN firmware you can get the download link in post# 13. But then there were wifi issues after flashing the PHN firmware for which a factory reset from the phone happened to be the solution.

Thanks for that mention of the firmware, I had the radio from that link but forgot you'd also linked the full package. Google Drive is much faster than the websites I'd been trying to get files from, it took 15 hours to download the XSA firmware I was originally going to use.
You were totally correct, resetting the phone was the solution. I got the PHN firmware, flashed it via ODIN only to find it still hadn't fixed the WiFi problem -- even after a factory reset -- however the process of flash/reset/re-flash fixed it for me -- it seems unnecessary to me, but I guess times have changed since I last tinkered with unlocked devices. I'm happy to say that I now have WiFi working under WizCyan now, just wanted to check back in just in case anybody else was facing similar issues. As painful as it is to have to back up and totally restore, sometimes starting completely fresh is the best solution.
Now I'm off to rebuild my SD Card, lol.

Glad to know that you managed to get the wifi working.
Personally, I did not face the wifi issue after flashing PHN firmware, but know that quite a few have faced this issue as reported in this thread
Normally my understanding and experience is that when you flash different modems / firmware some corruption occurs and factory reset from within the phone resets the partition & firmware. 1st time I experienced this was when I was using a MTK 6575 based device and had amended the EBR, MBR and scatter files to modify the partition sizes, even though these were flashed through mobiuncle tools (similar to odin), the revised partitions did not get changed until I did a factory reset from within the phone. I know that this is irrelevant here but thought that I would share this.
I am new to my Nexus 6 and new to flashing custom roms. I have read the thread all morning long and still don't feel comfortable with what information I have obtained. I'm currently running marshmallow 6.0 rooted with supersu 2.52. How can I flash the latest pure Nexus project 6.0.1 correctly? I do have TWRP recovery installed and I'm running on build number MRA58R
Make a backup in TWRP, wipe your system partition, Flash the ROM zip and the GAPPS zip, reboot, profit. If anything fails you can roll back to your backup and try again.
Real simple. Download the latest built as well as the latest google apps (gapps)
Reboot to TWRP
Do a backup, so you have a restore point if something happens
Go to wipe->advanced wipe and choose both caches, system and data. DO NOT wipe internal storage
Go to install, choose the ROM and gapps and install them
Reboot
You will now be on the latest. You will have to set your phone up again, and all your text messages, home screen, act will be gone but all your stuff on your sdcard (internal storage) will be untouched.
You can also get real ambitious and make backups with something like titanium backup of all your apps and data and restore it after booting PN, but try to not back up system apps or system data (it should be an option... I dont know, I never use tibu). The main thing you lose without backing up is texts, I usually just deal with it/redownload apps/set up home screen again.
On future updates, unless there are major changes and its indicated by a majority of people in the PN thread, just dirty flash.
That is, backup, wipe caches, install new ROM version( I wouldn't reflash gapps ) this will leave all your apps, settings, ect... But should only be done when flashing the same or a very similar ROM. If you dirty flash and experience problems, go back and clean flash as I first instructed.
So I should not worry about flashing the new 32r radio?
shouldnt this have been one of the first things to learn BEFORE you ever rooted your phone? yea, nice job jumping in before learning your way around. i bet you even used a toolkit to root your device..
Everyone's got to start somewhere. And no toolkit here but thanks for your input! And thank you for the helpful responses.

no tool kit? ok, your -1 on not learning before rooting has a +1 right by it, for rooting the proper way. you just might earn some respect
Hey there simbo, what do you say about flashing the radio?
Sure. Or don't.
Whatever.
The radio is pretty separate from android. Its basically drivers to tell you phone how to use hardware.
FI has certain requirements for activation that may check what radio you have, but outside of that run what ever works good for you., its not going to for sure be any specific one. Newer may often be better but its not uncommon that an older one may work a little better.
Different apps can help you monitor (I dunno which ones... But I know its a thing ), you can also go into about phone -> status -> sim status and check signal strength where lower dBm is better(well a lower numeric value... Its technically a negative number, so higher is better i.e. -113 is worse then -104). This will vary slightly minute to minute and place to place so just taking a glance once won't really settle it for you
I just use it for a day or two, pay attention to how my signal is (just kinda how often did I have decent # of bars, nothing scientific), and check battery stats clicking on cell standby and looking at % of time with out signal.

youre choice. you can try any of the radios, from previous android versions, on any android version. they arent specific. im using the 27R radio. whichever one works best for you, thats whats important

Well, it's all very easy if you read a little. Still i will give you one extra tip in case you start flashing all kinds of roms: You unlocked your bootloader. Before doing that you enabled "OEM unlocking" in 'Developer options'. Leave that enabled (this setting is 'sticky'. even when you wipe the device)!!!!. Leaving OEM unlocking enabled will disable "Device Protection" that causes sometimes a 72 hours lock-out from your Google account.
Due to the request of various members I have started a topic here for the rom for the xt1096 verizon model with android 6.0 marshmallow. This rom was developed by @hutchjim using the xt1097 marshmallow as a base.
Installation:
To install the rom, flash the zip from a custom recovery such as TWRP/CWM/etc.
Root:
To root this rom @donslade has stated that the files for the XT1095 work for it. They can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/development/root-root-moto-x-2014-android-t3249105

This one has support for verizon cdma. It is only useful for people who use verizon service.

AGISCI - Thanks for creating this thread. I hope we will have participation from folks who will test and provide feedback. I also hope that hutchjim will also provide info on how this ROM was created and what changes he made.
I believe the ROM is debloated from most of the Verizon apps and installs TWRP 2.8.7 as recovery. All of the Motorola Apps are there and function as expected from my experience. My phone connected to Verizon for voice and data. I do not know what other changes were made.
My experience to date has been mostly positive with just a few issues. I'll list those in a message a bit later. For now here is my interpretation of hutchjim's installation instructions:
1. Perform factory reset/wipe. THIS WILL WIPE YOUR PHONE AND ALL DATA ON IT. Either the built in reset/wipe of using TWRP. I used TWRP 3
2. Flash ROM
3. Perform another reset/wipe. I used TWRP 3
4. Phone will boot to initial setup. Follow prompts. Hutchjim says not to setup wifi during this phase but I see no way to avoid that. I connected to my home wifi at this point and continued setup.
5. As soon as you can go into Settings go to Cellular Networks > CDMA and select RUIM. No other changes should be made in the Cellular settings. You can also go to Backup & Reset > Reset Network Settings and reset there. Verify that the CDMA > RUIM setting is still selected.
6. Reboot and verify network settings.
7. Continue setup/restore from previous backup from Google. Any apps that need updating for MM will do so during the restore.
Doing the above results in a phone running 6.0.1 which identifies itself as a XT1097. I'll post a screen shot of the ABOUT phone screens later.
To root I used the files from here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/development/root-root-moto-x-2014-android-t3249105
Flash using TWRP
1. root-boot-6.0-xt1095.zip
2. UPDATE-SuperSU-2.65.zip (there might be a newer one out there but this one worked for me. It should update later if needed)
After this I was able to install the latest Exposed framework and app, Gravity MM, XGELS and AOSPSignal icons modules with no problems.
I had been using this ROM with no real issues since last Friday. Legacystar reported that his phone was Roaming after he installed the ROM. Mine was not Roaming worked great - until this morning when it went into Roaming a couple of hours ago. Nothing I did could make it change back. I restored a backup of this ROM from Saturday but the phone is still Roaming. I've now gone back to my last 5.0 backup and will try to reinstall the ROM later when am back home. Will update then.
Here is a list of items I think we need more info on:
1. What was the base ROM for this? I think it is XT1097 based but it may be XT1095 since the XT1095 root files work.
2. What changes were made to get this to work wit the XT1096 radio and allow CDMA operation?
3. How do the Cellular settings work and how can they be improved for this ROM?
4. How to bypass the network setup screen during initial MM setup?
Hope this helps. I'll update more after work and when I reinstall the ROM. Until then I hope more testers chime in with their experiences.

1) It is based on xt1097, specifically on retla which is the retail latin america variant. I am not surprised that the root files for xt1095 work since the xt1097 and xt1095 are extremely similar.
2) He sent me a list of some of the changes, I will dig through the files modified to get more details on what changed.
I was sent a new version by @hutchjim, it is uploading to google drive now. Hopefully in the new version the roaming problem is fixed.

Thanks for the update. I had notice that it did say retla in the system version. Need to pay attention to the baseband info.. Based on that I don't need to upload the About Phone screens then.
Very excited for this. Do gapps need to be flashed as well?

Alright, sorry for the long delay. My internet is messed up right now. I started the upload last night and left it running. I woke up to a failed upload message. I started it again and it took 5 hours to upload... anyway, I have updated the first post with the link to the new version. Please try it out and let us know if you have issues with roaming still.
I have had the roaming issue since I installed the original MM posted a few days ago but even though the R is showing by 4g it still allows me to access data through 4g. Hope I am not going to incur the financial wrath of big red. lol. I was reading this forum using it. Anyway, I want to say thanks for those putting in the work to try and figure this out and support a stock MM rom for the xt1096. I will test the new version as soon as I get it downloaded and report back if the roaming issue persists for me.
I have updated to the latest version of stock MM offered on first post and can confirm that the R roaming symbol is gone. I have rebooted several times and finished setting my phone up how I want it. The only issue I had during the process of installing and setting up this version of MM is that upon rebooting the first 2 times I had a pop up saying "Unfortunately, Verizon Login has stopped."
I rebooted into twrp and installed reinstalled the root and su zips and upon reboot the pop up went away. I guess I was wrong to assume that the order for installing the zips were 1)root boot for 1095, 2)Super SU and 3) MM Rom. After reading that in order it makes more sense to load the Rom then the root and su zips. Oh well, all is well that ends well.
Has anyone figured out how to bypass the wifi setup screen during setup?
Wrong forum.
i just loaded the new version and still getting the roaming. also having the verizon app crash on startup.
To skip WiFi setup, put sim card in on welcome screen so after boot put sim,
also roaming is gone for me but I just get data, no voice on some reboots voice aval even when it says out of service same last build.
Roaming was an issue older build new build fixed, voice still wonky for me
I feel like the answer is a really obvious No. I've tried to google around but honestly not seeing a definitive answer. Is there hope? Am i just a noob? Would I use a custom rom, are there any surefire custom solutions for a closet to factory edition?

I don't know of any reason why you can't just download the NBD91P image from here and flash each partition manually from the bootloader using fastboot, or download the NBD91P OTA image from here and flash it following the instructions on that page. I haven't heard or read anything at all that the stock factory image won't work on a T-Mobile Nexus 6.
Edit: If you haven't manually flashed an image before I have always used the instructions under "Method 2 : (Long, but works always)" on this page.
I would just load the OTA. There isn't any issues with it on t-mobile. was running the stock ROM for awhile. Now testing out CM14.1
I'm on nitro 7.1.1 on tmo with zero issues. Been flashing DP and no issues either in the past.

Hello I am also on nitro 7.1.1 on tmo. I cannot make or receive calls. I can but no sound and call automatically disconnects at 17 seconds. Also when pushing call button signal drops to hspsa. Then up again when it disconnects. Any idea on how to fix calls? Any info is greatly appreciated thank you.

I've never had any issues. My wife and nephew and older brother all have nexus 6 phones with nitro installed and have had zero issues on Tmo. Off hand have you checked your APN settings? Have you tried a fresh clean install? When I do a clean install I go and wipe, data, system, cache, etc, but leave internal storage alone. I know it gets wiped on install but I do it anyways to be sure. Other then checking APN settings and or fresh install I am stumped why anyone should be having issues. Sorry I can't give more insight. I guess the other issue could be your radio ....May want to look into flashing a different radio to see how it fares
Edit -. Link for flashable radios

So 7.0 just OTA'ed for me today 3/10/17. Given the recent issues with 7.1 I'm kind of OK with that.
Note10Dude - what 7.0.0 OTA or Factory Image do you find works well with T-Mobile? I think my radios are funky with 7.1.1 N6F26U - thanks in advance.

What I wound up doing was go to the T-Mobile page and established the official latest factory image was 6.0.1 MMB29K - installed that using Wugfresh. After installing and logging into WiFi and my Gmail account was prompted to install 7.0.0 NBD92G - this installed fine and then after installing a couple of security updates was able to Re-Lock my Bootloader (I wanted Android Pay to accept my credit cards). Data reception is still degraded significantly, am now thinking there is a problem with the tower.

I just posted this same response in a separate, but similar thread.
It's likely, in doing your updates, the modern (radio) software was updated as well. The modems are OS version independent and you may now have one that doesn't work as well for you as your original one did. You may not know which one you started with, but you could just try several to see if any improve the situation for you. Here are flashable zips of many of the modems.
You might also double check your APN settings against TMO website. I use Sprint, so no APNS, thus I can't really give you a step thru. If you search though, it's not an uncommon discussion.
I have build number NBD92G. No issues for me; I took it as an OTA. It has baseband MDM9625_104670.31.05.42R. T-mo did not push a May security update that I am aware of; I hope that indicates they are trying to validate a 7.1.1.
So, T-mobile is still on 92G for the last 3 months without security update. With the rumors of 7.1 being pushed again, anybody seeing anything? We will be EOL in October for security updates, and I plan to side-load the final one if T-mobile doesn't push it, but I do think they should be doing their job and letting our phones take the latest updates.
