Switched from one provider to another, got a new phone which uses micro-sim, and couldnt get the p880 to read the new sim card, so I have been using the new phone, which is greatly inferior to the p880..
With the p880 just sitting around unused, i decided i might as well try to mod it, then get a regular sim card for it and start using it again. I think i killed it instead.
Before it died on me, I formatted / wiped / factory reset and then used the LG Mobile Support tool to upgrade to whatever the newest official release was.. 4.1.2??
At this point, here is what it can do:
1) When attempting to just turn it on and USE it as normal, it turns on, gets to the animated LG logo and stays there forever.
2) Power + Vol Down = OEM LG recovery menu
3) Power + Vol Up = Some kind of Restore graphic
4) Power + Vol Up and Down (AVX) = nothing
5) Plugged into USB with battery removed and holding Vol Down = home row LEDs light up, nothing else
Windows sees the phone as a "removable disk H:" when I plug it in, but the LG recovery software does not see it, and it also does not show up in the device manager..
At this point, all that I can seem to access is the "apply update from ADB" option to do an "adb sideload" command in recovery mode.. When I send over the root tool, the phone is happy. If I attempt to send anything else over via sideload, I always get kicked out of the process when it gets to the "verifying installation package" portion. I can wipe / factory reset to my heart's content, but I can get absolutely no further than this after attempting for about six hours yesterday.
Any hope for me or do i have a dope looking paperweight? Will providing you guys either the IMEI or S/N shed any light into a path to recovery?
Thanks for your time!
You have a booting rom, the device is not even close to hard brick. Is your bootloader unlocked? If yes you can flash a custom recovery with fastboot and install any rom you want.

thank you, speady.. it turned out to be the first solution that you suggested, which i had seen before during my scouring of these forums.. but the real basis of my problem was that i had my phone plugged into the front-facing USB port of my computer rather than the one directly connected to the motherboard (on the back).. i guess the phone wasnt getting enough juice out of the front port to boot to S/W Update mode.. i am back to stock LG software and am eventually going to mod to another ROM
THANK YOU!
yes I know i F*** up and flash the freedom flex recovery with kitkat, now im bricked and just boots to LG LOGO, computer gives me unknown usb device after i leave it plugged for about a min then gives me that error. won't go into recovery or download mode but will go into some koren page with bar code and imei number..
I looked and looked for 9 hours with no luck :crying: is there any kind of fix for it? I even tried a usb jig with no luck. and plus i cant find a online shop that with jtag my lg g flex d959. im pulling my hair i just want mt flex back and working
update, I finally got it to work back to normal after bricking it with freedom flex app.
1. You will need an OTG cable.download Dfuse stock kitkat.zip and place it on your flash drive or sd card ( what a life saver). here's a link to his rom I hope its ok with D-fuse?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2747098
2. boot into recovery
press and hold volume up & power button, until the lg logo appears wait 2 sec, release the volume button only. if successfully done correctly you get a black screen with a image of a wrench and hammer and korean letters. it will boot in twrp or cwm which ever you have in stalled with freedom flex.
3. factory wipe it through the recovery
4. install Dfuse kitkat.zip you downloaded on to you sdcard.
5. reboot and enjoy you unbricked LG G FLEX

yea this sucks real big ones lol. does yours also say unknow usd device also?
trying to keep from crying
yes having the same problem with the USB, I did contact freedom flex to see how bad this is, also for about two days of reading and downloading server files I am ready if the USB connect, now the phone is in a coma and we will bring it back to life trying to keep from crying. I'm also going to call a tech and find out how bad it is, i will let you know.
Can you get into download mode
ok I can get it to download mode but still get unknown usb device. and also i can get it to twrp recovery but in my computer device manager it gives me and yellow (!) and says LG-G-Flex and wont install any drivers
att d950
I can get into download mode and it shows the computer and phone with blue dots nothing moving, when i connect to computer the usb does not work, I installed with freedom flex twrp, i was able to do a backup of the phone and efs backup. The phone now is stuck with lg screen and if you hit the power and down button you may get Korean lang with your imei with bar code at the bottom
att D950
in order to do the sd card how were you able to connect usb not recognized ?
You wont be able to get the full download mode. Also it wont recognize at with the computer. Only way of doing it, boot it in recovery and plug OTG cable <~~( forgot to put that) with a flash drive or sd card and install dfuse stock kitkat zip and you be up in running
If you can get into download mode try fastbooting Dfuse's 4.2.2 "D95910c" stock ROM. You may have to use
fastboot update (click and drag the D95910c file here with out the ( ) ). Or fast boot the f340 aboot or boot.img and freedom flex's cwm.img then unplug power off try booting to recovery but remember you only have one shot once you get there. From CWM you'll need to adb sideload Dfuse's D95910c.zip to your SD if its not already on there. Then flash it in CWM recovery.

I have tried about the flash back to stock via offline .kdz method and its only worked for me once. Its such a janky jacked up lucky if it works method , but I've used this twice with absolutely no problem at . just make sure you have internet connection on your PC. And I don't think you have to get into download mode if you change the setting to "Emergency". Just follow forum instructions and uninstall any of the original offline .kdz method stuff and LG drivers if you have ever tried it. And reinstall the LG drivers with OUT your phone plugged in.
Then follow that forum. Like I said its worked for me both times I've used it. Only issue in had was the old offline method software was installed and not allowing the new flash tool to act right. But once I uninstalled and started with a clean slate ....I was Golden.
Good luck

Yeah kintwofan posted ya a link. Put download it and make sure it's a good download. Either in twerp go to advanced/sideload. And adb sideload the zip file to your sd or put the zip file on a thumb drive and use a female usb to male micro usb cord as an adapter to plug the thumb/flash drive into your phone. Then in TWRP go to "mount" and scroll down the list and check the box next to "usb-org" then back out and go flash Dfuse's 4.2.2 jelly bean Rom. And don't forget to factory reset after the 4.2.2 Rom finishes and before you reboot. Or you'll boot loop.
Then If your smart go ahead and put a flashable supers.zip file on sd or flash drive and flash that after flashing 4.2.2 and factory reset have finished. Then reboot system. Should be good to go. You'll be rooted already and you can go to play market and get the freedom flex apk and put ya a custom recovery , make a back up, and for heaven sakes stay on 4.2.2 till they get the kernel for 4.4 worked out. Lmao
Okay, so, I know it's possible to fix this, it has to be. And let me explain why I can conclude this.
1.) I can access Philz recovery but ONLY when forcing the phone to hard reset via buttons.
2.) The touchscreen works in the recovery when resetting but doesn't go to the main menu or anything to restore a backup.
3.) The phone will recognize adb commands from the computer, but since the touches don't work when booted I cannot select the "allow this computer" prompt.
4.) The phone boots into the CM11 ROM and the buttons work (I can change volume, take screenshots, and access power menu.)
So, I'll explain what happened. I tested a boot.img for Quarx and flashed it. I didn't reboot my phone, just let it stay on. It worked and everything, but a little bit after church it rebooted on me and showed the CM setup menu. I was like, "What? Okay..." So I was going trying to make it work, but I realized the touchscreen wouldn't respond to my touches. I locked/unlocked the screen, rebooted, all that good stuff, and none of it worked. So, here's the damage done.
1.) I can't touch anything on the screen. It won't respond to touches.
2.) I cannot access recovery, only hard reset.
3.) I cannot approve adb commands because I need to hit "allow" on the screen. (The prompt does come up though)
So, I have a phone that boots, responds to hardware actions, and can recognize adb commands, but won't accept them unless I say "allow." I can access recovery but only when factory resetting through holding Power + VOL DOWN when booting. The touchscreen works in recovery, but it won't do any actions (back, home, etc.) because it's resetting. After resetting it boots instantly, and voila, my problem remains.
So in short, I need a way to bypass that "authentication" for adb, because in order for fastboot to recognize my device I need to run adb commands to set it up (since that's gone too now). That, or, I need to find a way to access Philz recovery without having to use the touchscreen. It's so frustrating because the one button I need to press is literally right in front of my face, on my screen, but it won't respond to my input.
Does anybody here have any suggestions? I haven't been able to flash a KDZ successfully, I don't know why. It never works for me on this phone. I was a pro at it on the L9. School begins in a week and I need to have a phone that works, for transportation and such. I'm not really at a point to buy a phone right now either since I'm focusing on buying my first car (yay I guess).
If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. In fact, I'm even willing to donate money to whomever can point me in the right direction.

are able to use philz??? fully...means is touch working on philz???
if yes then
you can put aroma file manager there...and in root of it in default.prop
change the lines
ro.adb.secure=1
ro.secure=1
to
ro.adb.secure=0
ro.secure=0
and reboot
now you have adb access without any confirmation required....
this is possible only if philz is working...
best luck...
and remove every possible LG driver from your pc
then reboot
connect to the internet
dont install drivers manually
let windows find the drivers if it doesnt find one.
then just reboot
after rebooting install drivers manually.
this works form me everytime.

The only way I can boot into Philz is when it's factory resetting. When it's resetting, it shows the recovery and everything, but it's just resetting. There are no options to flash anything and such. It just resets and reboots.
EDIT - If I could get a KDZ to flash, I'd be set. When I connect my phone in laf mode (s/w mode) my computer doesn't recognize it. It says it's an unknown USB device, and shows a warning symbol next to it in the device manager. If I could get that fixed, I might be able to flash!
The recovery you use was not ok
Its gave me same problem when i try it,thank God i can enter download mode to flash KDZ and back to TWRP.
But what that is amazing me about your is that its cant do what other D415 does why? did your own D415 is special.
Also another thing is USB debugging,If you using CM11 by Quartz it was enable by default in that rom

Yes but I still need to accept the prompt asking if I want to allow the computer to access the phone, which I cannot do because the screen does not respond.
How did you manage to flash the KDZ? I know it will be fixed if I can flash it, but I'm not having any luck flashing it! It keeps saying that the device is unknown, even though I've installed and uninstalled the drivers countless times.

Hi, I did have this issue after imstalling TWRP and installing recovery. After I spend hours to make a connect to the phone. Pressing and holding buttons while plugging in usb and .... Nothing I could not get a connect. And so long I cannot connect I can not do anything. Maybe LG is able or they can connect physical. Good luck but it seems the device is bricked. I gave mine back to the provider where I bought and got a new one without paying. I said I did an OTA and after it was like this . Otherwise open RMA

No chance. You need KK rom zip on your memory. Boot to recovery (hold vol up plus power and when LG logo comes up release volume button but hold power) and flash KK zip if you have got it in your sd memory. I cant make my Flex usb fixed too.. Everytime when I try to flash JB it wont overwrite custom recovery so I can go back to KK. Waiting for 4.2.2 zip now with downgrade option.
I recently did the latest update to my T-mobile Note 4 upon updating the phone, the phone was in a constant boot loop and finally installed the update to the device. Upon installing the new software update to the phone it began the reboot loop and eventually started up I received one text message and it began to loop again and now it will not turn on. None of the button combinations will turn the phone on it is not accepting a charge either. I put the battery in another note 4 and it works fine and shows 79 percent of the battery is charged. What can be done to get the phone to wake up out of it's current state most of the pictures were salvaged with drop box, but it did not update from a family funeral yesterday with several pictures and those are important. Has anyone had this issue before and what was done to fix it?

A few questions I would ask to be able to help would be:
Which baseband/bootloader/version were you on and which upgrade was your Note IV attempting to install?
Are you rooted or stock?
When you say that it bootlooped a bunch and then "finally installed the update", was that with no user interaction at all? seems odd to me for a bootloop to repeat and then randomly work.
If I were you and after pulling battery for 30 seconds doesnt work and holding down home+power+volume up, then try plugging it into a USB port on your computer and see if it recognizes it. Make sure your PC has latest samsung usb drivers.

All stock the last update performed was for that security hole android had on the android 5.1.1. What I mean is that during the install the phone kept restarting and restarting and then it installed the updates and went to the home screen. When it reached the home screen it showed me one text and I went on charging the phone thinking it was normal woke up this morning the phone was off yet the battery still has 79 percent when placed in another note 4 phone. I tried plugging into the pc the phone isn't recognized because it does not turned on it says unrecognizable usb device and I installed the latest samsung drivers as well I've tried those button combinations as well as pulling the battery. I'm wondering if the update corrupted something prohibiting it from booting it doesn't take a charge either when connected to the wall it's almost like the phone is in a stale state.

I haven't tried kies I tried smart switch though and the phone wasn't detected I'll try kies as well. I'll be back with an update appreciate the help.
Kies didn't work because the phone can't be recognize by the program the computer makes a noise knowing when the phone is connected but the screen on phone doesn't turn on I can't even get it to boot up or accept a charge and the battery is nearly full given that I put it in another phone to check. I've tried even starting the phone up with no battery using direct charger as primary source but it didn't work. I'm not sure how the update fried my phone, but I'm going to be losing some important pics drop box didn't sync yesterday during a family funeral.
That is just really ****ty luck. They say there is always a small chance that flashing anything can cause epic partition disasters. If kies is detecting it but saying it's unable to connect then I'd say the phone is toast. You might be able to get Odin to recognize it and reflash the entire ROM, but that would obviously destroy any data you had on the device previously. Might look into doing an adb pull or backup but being realistic with expectations, I'd say the chances of them working considering what you've done is minimal.
Since you're on stock anyways I'd just go warranty exchange it if you can. Not worth dicking around with Odin if you are stock.
Sorry I couldn't be more help but I would take this opportunity to seriously get yourself a cloud based automatic backup so you don't have to worry about these things anymore. I had something similar happen to me and I lost all my data and now it all syncs to my ex_sdcard and Dropbox haha..can never be too sure

Yeah I never flashed anything it was an over the air update basically that went bad. The last time I flashed software using odin I didn't lose any of my information it stayed on the internal memory and was there still. It truly is sad they roll out an update over air and it bricks your phone makes no sense.

I have gotten the phone to turn on randomly it turned on and is now regularly turning on however it is still in a bootloop will not allow me to enter recovery I can enter custom OS have tried to root but it flashes and does not stick with phone for the custom recovery I'm not sure what I can do now that the phone turns on any suggestions?
When trying to root or enter recovery I get recovery is not Seandroid enforcing set warranty bit recovery and boot loop
Have you tried connecting it to kies again to see if it will repair the corrupted flash? If not, Google your bootloader and Odin flash the full stock firmware

I have a t-mobile 910T note 4. I will try kies again not sure what my bootloader is or was I'm just trying to do what ever i can to preserve the data on phone will flashing stock again delete the internal I know with root with my other note 4 it didn't. This phone was never rooted the over the air update boot looped the phone
I would definitely try using kies or even adb from command to see if you can pull the data from it. Flashing a full firmware will wipe all data Yeah so I'd use that as a last resort

On this forum I have found just the bootloader available to down load if I download the full rom is it going to wipe the internal memory here is the link I'm referring to http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/mirror-stock-tw-t3260858
I think I might have it figured out just need clarity on if flashing just the bootloader will do the trick I also got a set warranty kernel on boot last time as well.
If it were me I'd install the following:
Twrp custom recovery : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347792887
Make sure you have latest drivers from Samsung. Flash twrp and see if you can boot into recovery and then either wipe cache or flash a bootloader zip from there. At the very least you could pull files from it once in recovery

If that doesn't work then I'd read this guide on adb setup and commands. It seems daunting at first but incredibly useful

Sorry I'm a bit short on explanation I'm just short on time. If you need anything more specific in terms of clarification don't hesitate to ask.

I would visit your local tmobile store and have them look at it. Besides smartswitch they have a program they can run and possibly restore your phone before it gets totally borked up.
This could help justify rma with Samsung.

My phone was dead. I used the original note 4 cable and it worked like a charme was able to odin to stock (new firmware) and root. I dont see any way out other than loosing all data

This is what I see when I flash the root or recovery every single time. I know if I can get the recovery on the phone I can get the pictures on to my pc because I had a phone that was android locked that I did myself and rooted recovery and was able to get the pc to see and transfer files to pc so why is it showing this image am I doing something wrong?

They don't have that machine any more I use to work at t mobile that machine was a joke by the way I'll be able to get a replacement it's the funeral pictured that are most important to me they didn't sync to drop box for some reason and that's my main reason for trying to get the phone working. I've flashed everything I've been told to flash I still get the boot loop and the stupid se android reinforcing set recovery or set kernel etc currently it's recovery if I try to initiate recovery via the buttons it just boot loops
