First of all, this has nothing to do with the d850 in any way. In the future, post elsewhere.
Also, i wouldnt trust anything except very well-known brands because usually lesser known brands have terrible software. Just my two cents.

Sounds awesome...little too good to be true or even if it is I'd price it pretty high probably around the 5-6 hundred range. If you get it let us know how it goes

Seen this earlier.... You know it looks to be well thought out. I'd consider it def if what I read about 100$ cheaper then most flagships...... But for some reason these teasers usually end with disappointment ...but I could be completely wrong *cough* fire phone *cough cough * lol
Illusion bugs WITH logcats post here : http://tinyurl.com/qzwu9f4 Will help dev out a lot ! Dev UNSUBCRIBED Thanks *2SHAYNEZ*

Depending on the price.. I might have to purchase one... The SPEC's are comparable or better to most of the "BIG BOYS". IE Samsung LG HTC SONY ect......

Once I found out that Saygus is a start-up in the US, the price no longer mattered to me(I want to support US companies). So far, it looks like Saygus is offering everything that I am looking for in a smartphone that bucks the trend of phablet-sized phones. It has been far too long since I've enjoyed a phone with a removable battery and has memory expansion. I wanted to believe that maybe Samsung's Project Zero meant it was going to buck the trend and go back to the phones of 2011 in terms of size but the leaks of the frame and specs made me lose hope. I almost caved into buying another Galaxy S4 as a spare phone for myself or compromised for a Z3 Compact. That is, until now.

PLease can we get a full dedicated dev team on this phone? i really want it, but i cant get it unless i can rom swap like i do with nexus devices. As we know now the phone will have an unlocked bootloader/prerooted. So it should be easy to get twrp/cw on to this beast.
I wont be surprised if cyanogen jumps it soon.

Cyanogen or CyanogenMod? The community of CM may, but the company Cyanogen has a 1 time history of abandoning startups.

mod lol, i meant the community.

I am all over this phone. Definitely going to be my next device.

Site opened up preorders yesterday. $549, $50 off if you get in now. Wonder if it will work effectively in Australia? Be good to see band specs.

Will they be working with carriers to offer this at a discount? I'd rather not have to pay full price but I will seriously consider it.

Couldn't say since I'm an Aussie and not interested in sprint and at&t and whatnot. Atm though I doubt they have even got to the manufacturing large scale stage. Their V1 never saw the light of day. I would think if not enough pre orders are reached it will die in the arse
---------- Post added at 07:28 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:21 AM ----------
Sorry for the double post. Just to add hype because I would like to see this phone see the light...
Harmon Kardon speakers
Kevlar on the back and sides
Edge to edge screen horizontally
Qi charging
Multiboot enabled from SD card
1080 screen (I have the nexus 6 and a 2k screen is not the be all and end all)
2 controllers for the battery extending life
An external camera button
And more...
This is what I would have wished from a new nexus 5 2015

But the question is if you preorder, will it get made? And WHEN? I see no estimates on timeline at all!

This! I had tweeted them and emailed the email they said to send questions to. Never got a response. I'm assuming that means not any time soon... as s result unless they respond I'm not pre ordering. Could be months from now... If it ends up being soon then I can afford the extra 50 bucks... I really think they shot themselves in the foot going with the 801. This is clearly a spec nerd phone. And I'm sure a lot of us would rather have spent an extra 50 or whatever bucks to get the 810... I feel like the 801 is a side step to the 800 on my nexus 5... all it kind of feels like paying 600 bucks for a phone that's the same speed as my 400 dollar nexus that's over a year old...
Did anyone else notice that preorder email says that MSRP is over 900 bucks? Lol.

Yeah no way am I ordering without even a guess at a delivery date. I doubt they get many orders without one.

The V² will work on all the carrier networks in the world.
GSM: Quad band(850/900/1800/1900MHz)
CDMA: 850/1900MHz
UMTS: Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8
LTE: Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26
So....it appears to support all T-Mobile bands. Nice.

[Q] Can't find S3 i9305 for sale

hi guys,
so im all set to pick up the s3 i9305 with 2gb ram and LTE. I'm in Dubai UAE but somehow all the malls & phone shops only seem to have the i9300 model. Now im aware the i9305 version released few weeks back but i cant seem to find any for sale... not even online!! the iphone 5 was on sale 3 days after it was available in september through grey market at mad prices... but the s3 i9305... cant find it anywhere! whats up with that? any insight??
TIA!
Google it - loads out there, even on Fleabay. You may have to import it. Presumably you have 4G in your area to be so desperate...
I saw a Samsung shop in Dubai, not sure what mall was tho, main one for sure..
If they don't I wouldn't bother as a few fakes are floating around out there.. Check it and make sure before you buy

1GB of RAM is enough, we just need it to be managed better.
Custom Roms already include some tweaks, i can run 7 apps together without closing / no lag with my current configuration (see signature).
If 4G isn't really that important to you, get a regular international version.

Trust us, either 1 gb or 2 gb you will be satisfied. I have the 1 gb version and works just smooth. Also as you see, there is better support for it than 9305.
However we still feel a bit phished by Samsung with all those different models, but as you see, most phones are 1 gigs (including iphone 5). With 2 gigs you will only waste the ram. Also, feels good to be one of those 20+ millions having this gorgeous phone, it's really feels good, because you know how much support you can get. Also 20+ millions can't be wrong

Actually, the LTE is still only a project on a piece of paper here, probably will start rolling out next year. So I'm feeling scammed a bit only because of the ram, as I paid about 800 4 months ago for my S3, now the price dropped and with the same price you can get the 2 gigs version. Nothing more and no big deal.
Btw, with my 3g I'm getting 8-9 mpbs download and around 4-6 mbps upload, which is more than enough for a mobile phone. Before yesterday, my home adsl connection was 10 mbps down and 768 kbps up and I never complained LTE still needs a better coverage, world wide coverage and maybe same frequencies in every country. Also, the lte is killing your battery much faster. Most of people still have no 4g and they started the development of the 5g lol.

LOL. Maybe a smart choice. Put those remaining $260 safely, so next year or after 2 years you can sell the S3, add those money plus a bit more and get the S4 or S5 The phones life is short in matter of updates, so is better to keep money for future releases.

Who may consider buying an upgraded Nexus 4

Depending if thats whats announced next week. The improvements could mean bigger storage, better camera, LTE compatibility, better battery life, and of course KLP. If they keep it in the same price range I'm all in
Especially if they dont even announce the Nexus 5 release date.

If Google announces that those of us who recently bought a Nexus 4 could upgrade just by returning the one we have, then sure I'll grab the upgrade. Otherwise, I'm happy enough as it is.
Maybe, but probably not. If they do release a heavily upgraded model for the same $299 price point...google better pull an apple and give me something though, considering I just bought a n4 a couple of weeks ago.

If its only the 32gb and LTE spec upgrade I won't bat an eye. On average with T-Mo I'm downloading 6-10mbps. Coming from sprint where that's near their LTE speeds, I will settle with H+ and 16gb just fine!
I doubt I'll upgrade until 2014, as I plan to keep onto this phone for a while. 16GB is more than enough for me and LTE isn't in my are yet.

Same here. I use the tablet for HD content so I still have nearly 6GB free on my phone and T-Mobile's HSPA+ is, in practice, as fast as Verizon's LTE and faster than Sprint's. LTE is still half baked.
I'll hold for a redesigned phone. Im knid of secretly hoping that LG was bidding but that HTC will win making a Nexus version of the One. Although LG has been the best supporter of the Nexus program so far (outside of the shortages, which were Google's fault).

I will only upgrade if it has a removable battery, 1080P, LTE, and 32/64GB.

I'm gonna hold out as well. As for the resale. Once the 5 is for sale I'm expecting the resale to drop by at least 30%. This device has the hardware to stay up to date for at least another year.
Wayne Tech Nexus
No real need to upgrade for me. The rumored changes are LTE, 4.3, and more storage. We already have LTE (I get 25Mbps down in an unannounced LTE city), we know 4.3 is going to hit this device shortly after its unveiling, and I'm fine with 16GB storage.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I don't really miss LTE. Sure, it's nice for downloading files quicker, but I really don't notice a difference in how fast web pages load. The only way though that I could upgrade would be if the current N4 retains some resale value.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
The only thing that would interest me is a bigger battery. I could care less about LTE. I don't need an additional radio killing my battery even faster. As for more storage? Not necessary. I don't keep a bunch of junk on my phone and only one nandroid so I regularly have between 2 and 4 GB free.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using swag
I don't like iPhone just because of that( well and iOS sucks and the market sucks and I'm not a 12 year old girl) but honestly I would be all over it if it had more storage and LTE.

The HSPA+ is not available everywhere in Chicago area. You get a lot of E or 3G. Let alone the LTE..
if itll have 32gb and better battery, im gonna upgrade. otherwise im sticking with the 'old' one, dont care about lte (hspa+ is perfectly enough) and im happy with the camera.

It would be nice. But I doubt it. Why wait an extra month? Why just not introduce both phones at the same event? Samsung seems to think the S5 they announced yesterday is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
This is wishful thinking. There's no reason for Samsung to do that big launch event and not introduce all it's products. Maybe if the "S5 Prime" wasn't going to be ready for another 6 months, but then it's going to start bumping up against the next gen of phones so the release would be moot.

Idk about 6 months because the Note 4 will be released around then (around November or so). That's why I'm saying a month or so (by March/April).
I just refuse to believe that this is the best Samsung could come up with. Maybe they wanted to have something ready for Barcelona and decided to hold their true flapship phone not phablet back for their own big event.
If the S5 Premium exists it better offers at least 3 gig of ram, more PPI = 2k display and a less "glossy" look
I can't see this happening. The while one more thing Steve Jobs did once won't happen. I'm somewhat disappointed with the specs but I love the software gimmicks. This just solidified my plan to upgrade from my note 3 to the 4.

You really don't want a 2600 x 1400 display.
Most people are *****ing about the lack of high end specs. If you go the route of a higher resolution screen your really just taxing your battery and SoC and for what? Something that you need a magnifying glass to see? 1080p on a smart phone is more than enough. At least until power issues are solved.

Do I need it? No heck I don't even need a Full HD display but the poitn of the matter is a marginal upgrade doesn't offer enough. If they don't want to go the 2k road fine, at least do something with the RAM and provide better screen protection etc.Another cool feature would have been a trackpad.

that I totally agree with. the phone is pretty disappointing. .
Well now....
It "might" launch? I might skip it as well as the plastic version. Still a worthless upgrade unless your on an S2. Come on LG G 3....
And as for who else is expecting? The only thing I expect from them at this point is to be disappointed. I loved Samsung at one point. I own 2 TV's, 2 camera's, I"ve had the S2, Note , S3 , Note 2 , S4... No S5 for me after the locked bootloader crap.
If the rumors of Samsung lowering the retail price of the S5 hold true, then I would say that a premium "F" version is all but guaranteed.
Just my two cents.

hmm, that is around the time the S5 goes on sale lol

And by surprise... I mean the announcement of the rumored "GS5 Prime". Metal build, 3/4 GB of RAM, 2K display etc... hey one can dream. But seriously do you guys think that this will happen and they announce the "Prime" or is the GS5 we saw, the GS5 we get?
UPDATE 2/26 (SamMobile)- Hmm, this is interesting.... May come in May, dubbed as "Galaxy F Series".

The "P" or "F" or whatever series is set for a June launch (May announcement?) alongside with the Snapdragon 805 and Exynos 5/6 64bit and the QHD screen which has a low yield right now. No need to rush things, cause if the S5 kicks off like $100 cheaper than usual, a quarter of top sales should come handy before releasing the True New Flagship. Well the Note series is The Flagship nowadays for Samsung and I think they realized that people see it that way, which is why the new metallic nex-gen line-up to catch attention, but we'll see.
If I am Samsung, I would not launch a new phone for now. I rather save the metal build quality for note 4 now. I think it is going to disappoint existing S5 users.

Why should Samsung go full metal? The leather like back on the Note 3 is phenomenal. They aren't going to ditch one of their USP things just so people can show off their phone.
Other than that no doubt the Note 4 will come with topend specs, 5,7 inch should be enough to pack an octacore and qhd resolution into it.

As proven by the S 5 I think highend specs are way more interesting for the majority of the users. Beating the N 3 is not going to be an easy task Samsung absolutely nailed it and found a big niche market with this thing.
F series

thr will be different edition of S5
like what happened for S4 (snap 600 to snap 800)
so it s possible for S5 from snap 801 to ... (maybe 805)
but different design from plastic to metal...! i don think so!
and I think Galaxy F series served for flexible feature.
and the F will get 2K, 3GB RAM etc...
:good:
Metal case is nice and all that, but if it means it won't have a removable battery, then I'm out.

Is Note 4 worth 22k (359$) more than Lg g3?

So Samsung today announced note 4's India launched for 58k ( around 950$) I was looking forward for note 4 but 58k is just tooo much, what do you guys think if Note 4 really worth 22k extra compare to Lg G3?
I seriously think not :/ Was confirmed to get a note 4 but now I am rather swinging towards iphone 6 only coz I need to upgrade within a week and N4 price is surely gona badly drop just like s5 but might take 1-2 months and I cant wait that long, this was really rubbish move from samsung 53k max n I would have got it, but 58k, no ty sammy.
The Lenovo Vibe Z2 pro is offering similar specs for almost half the price.

Just looked at the specs, CPU + Screen Resolution are the same as LG G3, so wouldn't it experience the same lags and throttling?
Does G3 seriously lag? I have had 15-20 minutes with it in a local shop and did not see any kind of lag or so but may be since i am still using the 2 years old Note 2 and new generations phones like M8, S5 are very fast?

I played also with a G3 in the shop, no lag on the home screen. But I just picked that info of the G3 under performing due to the under powered Snapdragon 801 for running a QHD resolution.
I think the note 4 is a way better choice then the G3. I have a G3, it is a very nice phone but from time to time I do get a lag... And coming from a note 3, I really miss my note 3...just my opinion... Hope this helps... BTW the G3 just got a work around the locked bootloader, called bump... So now you can flash twrp on it and flash roms when they come avaliable... But I'm still getting a note 4...

Yeah since the Note 4 was announced on 4th Sep i was following each and every news on Internet and was very sure that i am getting the Note 4, I even gave away 2 invites of One Plus One. 58k for a Samsung phone is like 20 lakh for a Maruti, its good but for 22 lakh i can get a BMW ( apple)

Thats the reason it is being priced higher.. I am ok with it and imho it will sell more this time if they maintained that price cuz it ll totally beat the point of buying an iphone(at least in india where carrying an iphone equals a certain standard of living).. Now u can carry a premium device with actual features and innovations rather than being stuck with a boring and suffocating os just because u needed to show off.
And btw ur comparison is totally wrong here.. A bmw has better everything than a maruti.. While in this case the iPhone is inferior in every way.. If Note is a maruti then iphone is a ct 100 motorcycle priced as a bmw.

that motorcycle comparison is so spot on lol
I tend to disagree about the pricing of NOTE 4 in India, iPhone 16GB costs 53,500 & 64GB 62,500. Apple has a very high brand value & is a status symbol in India. So cost is justified, though Note 4 is better phone overall, Samsung doesn't hold such brand value. So pricing is very bold & likely to drop very soon like the better Galaxy S5

Yes it is worth. I am upgrade from G3 to Note 4 and feeling stunning. Good screen, fast proccessor, stunning battery life. The LG G3 have only good screen but the battery is bad and very laggy because 2K screen in the 801 snapdragon chip.
Thats my point it has a brand value because it is priced higher..At least in India nobody gives a [email protected]#k about the stock value or the worth of the company or that it is an American product. Apple has a name here because they demand a premium for their devices. Direct competition of Note 4 is iphone 6 plus which is being priced at 62500 for the 16gb version. Galaxy Note series has always been a premium segment device. And sammy has enough brand value to price it the way they have. Like i said before,IF and only IF they maintained the same price, then Note 4 will sell more.It will give you the satisfaction of carrying a premium device and keeping ur standards(showing off) in the society at the same time it will be an actual smartphone. And i dont think they ll lower the price too much this time.Since last year it was due to the online retailers that the priced dipped so low.Its all over the news now a days.Sammy,LG,Sony,Htc,etc will all take strict measures to retain the minimum selling prices due to the backlash they faced from the brick and mortar store owners this year.
Fair enough, but Samsung is no Apple and has a very good record on price drop. Day 5 from launch u can expect the a bit 10 % price drop. i am going to wait or get it from Dubai where its priced around 46k

Just goes to show how things are valued in different countries. I think the iPhone is a piece of overpriced crap and the only status I think it implies is that people have no clue how misinformed they are for buying it. But that's me... And I'm so glad Samsung isn't Apple.
Also, if status is what you crave, wouldn't the higher priced item increase the status of the symbol?
If that would have been the case I would be using an apple device but I don't because I know they are way overpriced for the value they provide. The problem with samsung is different though 800$ around 49k was good price for the note.
Anyway samsung is on destructive path with rise of Chinese players in India and Their bad pricing and availability mess

Are you planning to upgrade ?

So the OP5 is coming soon, we have few leaks about it but are you thinking about an upgrade ? Or you will keep this beast for one/two more years ?
I just got mine yesturday so i plan on keeping it till at least the 6 comes out.
I'll upgrade if the specs are good. 2k screen with a good camera and easily unlockable with good dev support. If not I'll get a new different phone either the international Note 8 version with unlocked bootloader or the new Pixel.
Just saw the news said they drop support for the op2. Hope OnePlus won't drop the software update support on op3t. Otherwise I will use 3t until op6 comes out.
Nah, I´m really happy with the change from a Nexus 6P to the 3T. The only downside is the camera at night and to be honest with myself I don´t use the camera enough to justify an upgrade. I love the 1080 screen, 6gb ram (especially at the beta, app management is the best on any android phone I´ve experienced). And regarding android upgrades, as long as i get security patches I´m happy. Google seems to f#ck things up more and more along the road..
I didn't buy 3T to upgrade it just after the next gen comes. Like seriously, the purpose of all those specs like 6GB of RAM is to last long and endure technological evolution process as well.
BTW I had an opportunity to get my hands onto S8 recently and even for free I wouldn't swap these devices even though 3T is from the previous generation of flagships (which apparently means nothing in this case).
I have the 3T since January. No reasons to upgrade. I'll keep it for 2 years, I hope.
not yet, unless the OP5 is groundbreaking
Maybe
Oh I'm upgrading but def not to the OP5. Probably gonna grab an S8+ pretty soon and then the Note 8 when it comes out. I only buy OPs if I need a new phone and there's nothing out that interests me. They are great interim phones, for sure.
If it'll be under 500€ i'll buy it
Im going to go with a solid maybe. Normally i dont buy phones for cameras. Never have never will. but im very interested in this things camera, those picture samples leaked are SOOOOOOO damn good looking. Normally id reach for my nikon but holy moly the detail. You know youve got a good camera if you can see the scales on a strawberry. The 835 sounds amazing 6gb ram is super useful and if that new leak is true with the 30 minute full charge on dash, thats a buy right there just for the charging feature. My lord-y thats just smartphone bliss right there. Forget battery banks imagine what you can get in a 5 minute charge. Theyll change the tag line to a whole days power in a 10th of an hour.

But if the camera is the only *major* upgrade, while you still consider buying it or you will just keep the 3T ?
Its a low chance that is the only major upgrade. They will definitely be using the 835 or hopefully even thr 850 if its delayed enough.

They've already confirmed it will use snapdragon 835. That's about a 10% performance increase over snapdragon 821.
I do belive that the 5 is a good idea. Im sure they way they use the 835 it will be more than 10%
I've owned alot of phones in my time, but the OP3t is hands down my favorite. The OP5 is gonna have to bring a lot more then just a camera upgrade for me to drop 500 bucks on it.
If the price is between $400 & $450, I'll buy immediately. If it's qHd I'll buy immediately, below $600. If the materials are new (ceramic) I'll buy immediately.
If not, I'm going to wait and see what the Note looks like. Or the Mate.
I love this phone and only got it in March or something.
