I'm currently using the original Moto G 16 GB, and have a Nokia dump phone for work.
What I like now:
High PPI display
Compact design
Long battery life
What could be better:
Storage, I really need an SD slot for tons of music
Better camera, front speakers is nice but not necessary
Dual Sim support
The + and - equal each other almost and now I don't know what to do. My biggest concerns are size and PPI. I can live with a worse battery.

No one? How's the size?
Verzonden vanaf mijn XT1032 met behulp van Tapatalk now Free
I didn't use the original Moto G, I upgraded from an old 4" Huawei.
I like the size of the 5", I did worry about it being too big to use one-handed, and wavered between going for it or the 4.5" 4g version, but am happy I went with the 5". Glad it's not any bigger tho.
I know the ppi is lower than the 4.5" because it's the same resolution, but it looks great to me.
Camera seems great so far, haven't really put it through its paces but it's a hilariously long way better than my old Huawei G300.
Battery life, one time I checked it lasted slightly over 24 hours with 7 and three quarter hours of screen time. I'm very happy.

Hey all,
I'm looking to replace my P990's battery, since it's performance is degrading quite quickly now. The original battery has a capacity of 1500mAh, but I found a few on Ebay with 1800mAh or even 1940mAh. (Same size, so no new backcover needed). Would that be a better option than the original LG battery?
Thanks.

If it has higher voltage capacity, yeah it'll be good.
Ok, so what about this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2450mAh-FL-...376922?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2a2a8af7da
How can it have so much more capacity (2450mAh over 1500mAh) and remain the same size as the original?

It's fake. It's rebranded. Google for "optimus 2x gold battery" and you'll find quite some posts about that.

Thanks for pointing this out. You are right, I found some topics about this very battery and they seem to agree with you. So do all these "larger" batteries have fake capacities? (The 1800/1940mAh ones aswell?)
I saw that the Ebay seller had 99.2% positive feedback, so I trusted the battery to be at least a bit more capable than the original.. But this is unfortunately not the case.

I'm also looking for a good replacement!! Any suggestions? Thanks!
I see a lot of interest in the Z1 as the natural upgrade from the XZ but I see no other comments about the Ultra. Is there something I am missing (besides its sub par battery life)
After University finishes in 1 month I wont have a need for my failing Nexus 7, and I read alot of E-books and so I thought the best solution would be to upgrade my XZ to the Ultra. I don't need a tablet but I do like reading e-books on a comfortable screen size. If worse comes to worse I'll just read on my XZ but I am looking to upgrade.
Any potential hazards I'm missing?
I think it's because most people don't like the idea of a 6.4" screen.
I wanted the Z Ultra, but apparently the camera is horrid, and I think it is made from cheaper materials than the Z1.
It's not that it's a bad phone. It's that you can get better.

Oh right. I never use cameras so even a **** one will do the job. And define cheaper materials ? Like the XZ is pretty solid. Does the XU use plastic.
Does the Z1 have a bigger screen?

I own a galaxy note 2 as well (and love it), but for me that is the maximum size I could deal with..
The z ultra is just too much phone for me. Some people will love it no doubt, but it isn't for me.
@evleaks recently revealed that the Google Nexus program will be canned, with no further Nexus devices to be announced. In its place, Google will be launching the Android Silver range of devices, which is expected in February 2015.
Further details have now been provided by evleaks regarding the next Nexus phone. Previously expected to be the tentatively named Nexus 6, the successor to the Nexus 5 is said to be manufactured by LG once again.
The only other details known about this device as of now is that it will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC (one of the first devices with this chipset) and will be available on Sprint in the US.
Google I/O is set to take place a month from now. We'll have to wait and see if Google has any hardware related announcements to make during the event. What are your views?

R.I.P Nexus
Tell you the truth I only use the nexus line for the latest OS! Now with the Google editions, instead of paying for a midrange phone on contract. Was thinking of going for something like a note 3 and just installing the google edition ROM! Think the nexus line has been great for Google. But unless your buying your handset! Your kinda losing out if your next handset is by contract. Be sad to see Nexus go! But I trust Google to keep pushing Android forward.

Yeah but you can also buy the one plus one since its getting cyanogenmod updates for another 2 years i think and someone will make aosp ROM for it etc. But the screensize 5,5 inch is really top big.. But only 269 euro is really cheap you van buy like 2 or 3 phones instead of an Galaxy s5 or iPhone 5s.
Cant wait till 4.4.3 comes out i hope that they fixed the wifi issues then instead that we must fix it ourselves.
But there is always hope. If we still get Android 5 then we can make it further not fully working but yeah real life. Are you guys also noticing that the phones are almost more powerfull the an desktop if you watch to specs even if it cant have an big gpu like octacore phones.. For people who only browse Twitter or facebook and playing simple games. Do you guys also think then what you could do with such an powerfull device?

It's still up in the air. I'd assume we will have to wait until Google i/o in June to find out the whole story.
Hi y'all,
I'm currently using a Galaxy Nexus GSM version and I'm having the option to trade it along with 100 euros for an Xperia Z1 with 2 years warranty and no scratches at all. Before I had to buy the Galaxy Nexus (which is from someone else, it's not even new) I was using my beloved Galaxy S3. I loved it, but thanks to the crappy build quality of Samsung the display broke and the screen is black only now.
My question is, is it worth it to trade my Galaxy Nexus with 100 euros for an Xperia Z1 with 2 years warranty and no scratches?
Oh and by the way, isn't it strange? Because the Z1 is worth more than the Nexus and 100 euros..

100 Euros for a practically new Z1 with Warranty?
that would be a bargain in my opinion,
Just make sure the dealer is legitimate, and the phone is not faulty.

Yeah I find it a little bit strange that it's that cheap. There must be something wrong even though he said there's nothing wrong.
Is there anything I should check carefully?

What's weird as well is that we have set a time when I'm going to him to check the phone out, but he wants me to email him when I'm on my way. That's kinda strange huh?

So long as theres nothing wrong with the Z1 i'd say go for it, but if I may add another choice for you.
The oneplus one ! www.oneplus.net
Superb phone and only £269 for the 64GB version, once it's freely available i'll be selling my Z1 for it.
At the moment it's invitation only

That's true but when you consider you're getting a phone which beats anything hands down on the market today and you're paying half price for it, I think it deserves some serious consideration.
I'm already sold and I can't fault it, not to mention that it's customisable out of the box.
350 euros! That a brilliant price for that kind of a phone, how much was the note 3 in europe when it came out?
5.5 inches is too big, ideal size 4.7 inches...

Depends on the hand size really. If you have big hands 5.5 inches might be alright. If you have small hands 4.7 could even be to big. In my case I got relatively small hands but I can handle 4.7 inches. Friday I will get my Xperia Z (not Z1, sorry all of the Z1 forum ) and see whether I can handle 5 inches as well.
I have a Nexus 5, 16GB. I love/hate the phone.
I love the 1080p screen, stock Android, the RGB notification light and the fast performance. I even like the camera.
But I absolutely hate the speakers, the storage and the battery life. The battery life is truly atrocious.
I can sell the phone for $200 to a friend. I was thinking... would it be a good idea to get a Moto G Second Generation instead of keeping the Nexus 5?
I would get better speakers, expandable storage (I really want to have all my music in my phone)... but I don't know about the battery life (is it better than the Nexus 5?).

Yes, battery life is better than nexus 5
Keep your Nexus 5 and just buy an iPod touch for your music.
Keep your NEXUS 5 (unless you don't multitask). Get the Sansa Clip Zip and put Rockbox on it. It can accept upto 128GB MicroSD provided you format it to FAT32
As for the battery, get a portable charger like Anker Astro Slim3. It'll get you phone to 60-70% in an hour.
Trade it for an LG G2, amazing huge battery, better camera, 32GB, speakers are so so. But since I use headphones most of the time its not so bad. But also try experimenting with other kernels on the Nexus 5. And upload all your music to Google Play Music. Its free up to 20,000 songs.
no man.. nexus 5 is a great phone as compared to moto g 2014
moto g 2014 is already facing memory management issues and trust me you dont want this phone until this issue is fixed! :good:
stay on nexus 5 because 1gb ram is not enough for multitasking.

im a new user but i would suggest getting a mp3 player instead, i too use the phone for music(16 gigs almost of it) but i woudnt trade a nexus 5 for a moto g atleast from a spec wise point
I don't have a Moto G 2014 (yet) but I would imagine that the performance/responsiveness would be noticeable compared to the n5. Just by looking at the specs side by side

I'm using Nexus5 / 4 on a daily basis and owned recently a Xperia Z/ Z2 and a LG G2. I had to use a moto G for 3 days and I concluded that the G maybe good for the price it's sold for but not a flagship killer or even midrange killer as some would say: HYPE!
