The nexus 6 is capable. Its your carrier that implements VoLTE. Its rolling out in certain areas, but will take some time for everyone to get it.

for verizon it might be an issue, since there would be no data and phone calls. but on att(and tmobile) that wouldnt make any issues as when you receive phone calls, you signal gets changed to hspa/hspa+(no voice calls over lte) asnd you still get data flowing while on a phone call.

Thanks - what is the support for HD voice or VoLTE?
It's not clear which model Motorola will ship as the 'Pure Edition', but either way they are locking it down and limiting it to lte 2/4/17, which is not the full spectrum of at&t, t-mobile bands and it lacks international bands. There are two possible radio configurations http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/help/pure-edition-fcc-id-t2884649

HD Voice = On T-Mo branded devices, it says HD when in a call. If you call someone else on T-Mo with a modern device, you should have a noticeably clearer conversation. HD voice is phenomenal. Voices are richer, etc.
VoLTE = Only will know if in an area with that coverage. If you get on a voice call and still have LTE, you are on VoLTE. Can Google your location to see if it is there. You could also check phone settings, see if there is an option for it.

Would the fact I use Google Voice effect his?
I have a call for work later today I'll pay attention to if it keeps LTE or not. Where in settings would It be? I see nothing.
Just called my house, it goes to just 4G(HSPA+).

Google Voice is interesting question. It is only further complicated by the new hangouts dialer which definitely woudlnt be HD. On my S5, I go to phone -> settings -> call -> VoLTE

Well, T-mo owns the Band 12 frequencies in the majority of the county I live in. It isn't active yet, but if I am buying a 2-year device, it had better support Band 12.
Seems like the XT1092 is the Sprint version that had all the Sprint & T-mobile LTE bands in preparation for a T-mobile/Sprint merger. Whether and where it shows up in the wild is anybody's guess.

Does anyone know if T-Mo is currently using band 12 in MN?

Navigation (GPS) doesn't work

Yes, as soon as I make a phone call my GPS stopped tracking my progress. When I hang up, tracking resumes.
I have not noticed this with the OG X. I do use GPS and have calls at times.
I wont get my new 2014 X till the 29th
Voice calls and data connection currently don't work together. There's an update planned for "this fall" that will fix it.

Update - it seems like the GPS is still tracking, but my nav app begins searching for the data network to provide additional info (traffic, accidents, etc.).
So, not as big a deal as I thought, but still annoying and seems like a step back from my RAZR M.
not an issue on ATT.

I didn't have the same behavior on my RAZR M that I have with the Moto X. On the X, my navigation app, Waze, begins searching for a connection (though the GPS tracking continues). In addition, a box pops up to warn about the lack of data.
Verizon's CMDA/LTE can't do voice and data at the same time (with the exception of the Rezound and the Thunderbolt), it's a problem with CDMA. GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile have no problem with this.

Verizon Advanced Calling 1.0 for Nexus 6

I have yet to switch my Verizon LTE Nano SIM to my Nexus 6 but I was wondering if Advanced Calling 1.0 is functioning, particularly the HD calling feature. Pretty hard to go back ever since having it with my iPhone 6 Plus.

Greetings from the Bay Area. I stuck my Verizon SIM in my T-Mobile Nexus 6 and I couldn't figure out how to tell if HD Voice was working (since it was too early to call my wife), though when I made a call it switched to 1x in the notification bar. That's a bad sign. I'll do some more testing today and report back. I was especially curious about this as I too I find HD Voice to be awesome on my iPhone 6.
-Collin-
if its anything like tmobiles hd calling, which works on the n6 btw, both phones have to have it before it works. if only one of the 2 phones in the conversation has it, it wont work.
VZW user here. I can confirm that all of the advanced features are not working at this time. In fact the phone is not even capable of simultaneous voice and data.
This is true of several new phones on Verizon including the Droid Turbo, which of course is the carrier locked 5.2 inch version of the Nexus 6. In all likelyhood the Nexus 6 will not see VoLTE or simultaneous voice and data unless Verizon finds it in their hearts to get an update to us N6 users that will turn those things on for us.
I knew all this going in but i hold out hope that Verizon will carry the phone, which would mean an update will eventually hit.
However, should they not carry it I will be ok with the phone as is.

the phone is very capable of phone service and data at the same time. and the phone is compatible to volte. on all other providers besides verizon, it can get voice and data at the same time(verizon is cdma and doesnt support it). that said, verizons volte is just starting to make it out. when you get volte in your area, you will be able to make calls and get data at the same time.
Not true, I have volte on my area and used successfully in the iPhone 6 plus but it does not work on my nexus 6, even after going in and adding advanced calling on my line.

odd, ive talked to a few using their lte lines to connect calls over volte.
Until Verizon issues an update for the Nexus 6, the feature won't work, period.
I'm assuming Google will push out an update that enables it if you are using a verizon SIM, but who knows.
Just wait. If it's a feature you need, you'll have to wait until Verizon officially supports the device.

Verizon phones have had data and voice at the same time in the past, but some newer android phones (Nexus 6, Moto X 2014, G3) don't have it, yet. VoLTE is a bit different, but also limited to certain devices.
This article might help a little:

It it software based e.g. is there an .apk on the droid turbo that allows for it to work? or is it on the core android [system] level that needs to be baked in at the time of building the rom? Obviously where I am going with this is if it's something installed, on the droid turbo for example, can we just lift off those files off and work to get it work in AOSP land?
No there isn't. The Turbo doesn't support it yet. Unfortunately you're going to have to be patient.

I have not tested this, but usually "ro.ril.enable.amr.wideband=1" in build.prop does the trick.
Coming from Beans I would Like to Know When they begin building a rom will they be able to port this in from something like the new Droid that has this feature working. I Know the Alliance team has the N6

you cant "enable" it. its automatically enabled if its in your area. problem is that both caller and receiver need to have this for it to work.

If the N6 supports volte and we are using it before vzw sales the device directly, is Google able to help us activate this feature? Bc i dont see vzw giving an update to phones that are unrecognized and showing as non vzw devices.
Sooo.... I am wondering if volte support will ever work on those of us who chose not to wait til vzw releases their version of the nexus 6?
May be the price we had to pay to get a non tramp stamped nexus without any carrier customizations and bloat.....

I'm just happy my Nexus 6 hasnt been violated by Verizon. They never got their dirty little hands on it. It's so nice having a phone with No bloatware.
Verizon will eventually carry the Nexus 6 and will eventually send out the Software update which enables VoLTE. I'm not sure if we will get that update? But we shall see what happens

Nexus 6 Outside USA CDMA Network Issues

What could be causing this issue? If so, How can it be resolved?

lte is only a data connection. your provider must have Volte. volte is Voice Over LTE. thats the only way to get voice on lte.
Ok, so there is no way to get it running otherwise until they setup volte on their system?

but considering they have lte going, most likely they would have volte as well. some US providers, like verizon, have lte and volte, but you have to enable it in the providers settings. id call your provider to find out.

Which international version is best for tmobile?

I was thinking about getting an international phone but there are a few versions N930F/FD/S/L/K . Which would be most compatible. As I understand it, the downside is missing some of the bands for data. 3g is the problem I think. Can anyone confirm this or input any additional issues.

Very odd as both worked in the S7 FD version I had for a bit. The requirement isn't bands but that the TMO sim has to be in sim1 not sim2. If it's in sim1 then both work. Also, VoLTE is hidden and always on if supported.
