My Moto x first edition didn't say T-Mobile in the status bar. Just got my new Moto-x and it displays "T-Mobile" in the status bar. I am using the same T-mobile sim from my old Moto-x. It is taking up space in the status bar. How can I get rid of it? Thanks .

This is a small issue but is anyone using ICS with a MVNO? I have a Virgin mobile SIM which uses the Everything Everywhere network in the UK (Orange/T-Mobile).
When the phone is using the orange network the notification drawer correctly displays this, but when on the T-Mobile network 'No service' is displayed.

Since you managed to flash ICS on your device I suppose you're comfortable doing some more hacking
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12693880&postcount=5
Maybe look at the file first and check if your provider is the one mentioned in the Finland section.
We are now in build 13 and we still get that roaming icon if we are using a MVNO
this method didn't work for me
I have the same problem with spanish Yoigo
Teamhacksung ICS MVNO roaming problem
same problem on build 16
HELP please !!
anything new about MVNO support? on my galaxy nexus in ics MVNO works without a hack, it`s not treated like a roaming network. somewhere in the process of porting to I9000 this stock ics behavior got lost. would be nice to have a better solution then switching data off in frontier areas.
Ok so is there a way to turn the LTE off and just the h+ seems I'm in a spot that LTE is in and out and when its got the LTE its only one bar and its slower with one bar than the h+ or maybe because its switching back and forth so I'd like to turn it off if possible but I can't figure out how
And also my E, 4g , 4glte icons are only white but on my artix 2 they go from white to blue and its really slow when its white but does great when blue could that be an issue with the vivid ?
Or does the vivids icon only stay white ?

That menu is not available for the HTC Vivid. However, you may be able to add an APN that only uses HSPA+ and 3G instead.

interesting, it works on the HTC Raider, I guess there are many differences between the two phones?

I don't see a "network mode" under "mobile networks." All I have are "data roaming," "access point names," "network operators,", and "enable always-on mobile data."
Update: Sorry, I didn't see the later posts.

Hi,
I've just moved to Moto G 2nd Gen yesterday and noticed that the network name is no longer displayed in the status bar.
I've read in the old Moto G forum that this can be changed in Settings, however I do not have the relevant menu item
Any help would be appreciated.
In Moto g - 1 We don't have Network name on status bar its just present in lockscreen & notification panel at bottom...
Try settings, wireless and networks "more...", mobile networks, Show Mobile Network.

Seems 2014 model doesn't have this option anyore, maybe it's related to the two SIM capability?
Each to their own but why? you know what network you are on and the network is shown on the lock screen and in the notification tray if you really need it.
Lock screen also doesn't show it.

Are you using a custom lock screen? cause mine definitely shows the network, shows both of them if I have my 2nd SIM turned on.

Yes, You are right, it's there, I was looking up, nlt down, below pin numbers.
So this morning i noticed on my way to work that my cell network icon has a "!" mark next to it, with no indication of the connection type (LTE, H ect). at first i thought it was because i had no internet connection for some reason, however, when i pull the notification shade down i see the icon for network connection has the connection type (says LTE) as well as the "!". So the notification shade had LTE and the ! while the status bar icon only had the "!". I confirmed that access to the internet was fine by checking websites and running speed tests. Anyone experience this issue?

I did as I posted in my other thread about this. Now if there is a way to put my Preferred Network Type back to "Global" instead of LTE (recommend) I switched it because I thought I had no internet either until it showed LTE on the notification shade too.
Looks like it was a problem with tmobile this morning, back to normal now
