Hi,
I've just moved to Moto G 2nd Gen yesterday and noticed that the network name is no longer displayed in the status bar.
I've read in the old Moto G forum that this can be changed in Settings, however I do not have the relevant menu item
Any help would be appreciated.
In Moto g - 1 We don't have Network name on status bar its just present in lockscreen & notification panel at bottom...
Try settings, wireless and networks "more...", mobile networks, Show Mobile Network.

Seems 2014 model doesn't have this option anyore, maybe it's related to the two SIM capability?
Each to their own but why? you know what network you are on and the network is shown on the lock screen and in the notification tray if you really need it.
Lock screen also doesn't show it.

Are you using a custom lock screen? cause mine definitely shows the network, shows both of them if I have my 2nd SIM turned on.

My Moto x first edition didn't say T-Mobile in the status bar. Just got my new Moto-x and it displays "T-Mobile" in the status bar. I am using the same T-mobile sim from my old Moto-x. It is taking up space in the status bar. How can I get rid of it? Thanks .

Hi all, I know this part of forum about S6 Active is not much frequented but I just purchased the phone for personal use, It's unlocked and I'm using it with Vodafone operator.
I'm on 5.1 firmware but on 5.0.2 was the same.
First of all, it is normal that there is not a toggle for Data in the quick settings menu but I found a toggle is located on use management app?! Crazy...
Second I noticed that is not possible to select the speed of Data, i'm forced to use 4G only as I found nowhere the option to switch to 2G/3G to save more battery.
Third, there are no options to wake/sleep by double tap, I'm a bit scared because the buttons are fast going then.
Can someone confirm all those and if you have any suggestion/tweak I'll be pleased to hear, thanks!

Hi there.
I completely agree with you. The phone is a bit weird when it comes to toggling data and selecting the preferred network mode. However, if you want to change your preferred network mode, dial *#*#4636#*#* It will open up the service menu. From there, go to device info and select the preferred network mode from there.
As for the double tap feature, I haven't seen it in any Samsung phone. LG has it on their flagships, but if you want this feature, there is a PAID app in the Playstore for you.

4g Icon is displayed on all AT&T devices, even if u are using 3G.
I don't remember the name of the app, but you can check it out on playstore. If only the S6 Active had a fingerprint reader.......
If you go into settings, personal, accessibility, dexterity and interaction then turn on gesture wake up and all you have to do is wave your hand over the phone and it will turn on the screen for a few seconds and then shuts off by it self.
I saw today that the WiFi symbol and the LTE symbol were both displayed while I see the up and down arrows on the WiFi symbol working. What does this mean? What is it doing?
Thank you.
faster download option ticked.
when im downloading data, the phone will use both wifi and cellular to speed up the process.
you should see a lightning bolt (grayed out when not running).

Settings -> Connections -> More connection settings -> Download Booster
Or more easily, just use Bixby and say "Download Booster"
Of.course, it's not on my at&t version
Or check in Developer Options -> Networking section -> Keep mobile data turned on

Does keeping mobile data on really do the same as combining and managing WiFi and LTE connections for large files...Download Booster is needed for that, I believe.

No idea, mine is set to default (off).
Thanks for the replies. I am on AT&T, and I don't have that Download Booster option. In my developer option section, I do not have keep mobile data on enabled. And yet, I still get this dual icon (wifi and LTE) from time to time.
It would be nice to find out what exactly it is doing...
Download booster is a samsung thing. Carriers can elect to keep it or not.
Its not in dev options, its in the standard phone wifi settings as mentioned above. It does make a difference.

That's the thing sim unlocked versions without carrier branding may not have all the bloatware from carriers but they will be missing features that carriers enable or are carrier specific. I didn't have it on my unbranded exynos until I installed my carrier's features.
Download booster
Hi
I'm from italy and have no brand device note 8 exynos
Download booster don't start but the symbol above 4g connection appears....
What can i try to fix this?
There is some chance to verify of the download booster option run in a diagnostic mode?
Many thanks

I had the same problem where the 4G/LTE symbol remained ON even when on WiFi (S8/Verizon). Turned out to be a weather app that I wasn't even using (think it was Today Weather), but not completely sure which one. Uninstalled and LTE symbol is now off when on WiFi.
mine does the same occasionally. its called switching. means if either are weak, the other takes over. LTE shows and wifi, because i have both on all the time, and somewhere in connections is a setting for such.

My T-Mobile Note8 just started this 2 days ago. Turning Wi-Fi Calling On while connected to my home network removes the 4G LTE icon, and turning off Wi-Fi Calling makes the icon come back. One thing I've noticed is when I clear the memory via Device Maintenance tool, the 4G LTE icon disappears, but then reappears after a short time. I tried to watch the list of apps loading to see which one makes the LTE icon reappear, but the apps get shuffled around in the list. Anyone with ideas on which apps tend to cause this issue? I've uninstalled apps I assume to use mobile data and/or GPS location in the background, but I'm at a loss.

nvm... turns out that a June 26th update of the Amazon Alexa app caused the 4G icon to stay on at all times. GG, Amazon.
its Google Duo doing it, clear memory, 4g goes away as soon as i open Duo it comes on again.
I'm using two SIM cards in my TA-1046 running Pie, October 2018 patch, build 00WW_3_22D, MPSS.AT.3.1-00770-GEN_PACK-1 baseband, 4.4.146-perf+ kernel, etc... Stock out of the box.
On the status bar, I see three signal indicators, one of which always shows no reception.
When I pull down the quick settings, I see "No service - OperatorName1 - OperatorName2" scrolling at the bottom.
In Settings -> Network & Internet -> SIM cards, I see both my two SIM cards active, but when I tap op i.e. "Preferred SIM for Mobile data", there are 3 options in the popup - the first two are identical, and both of them are selected (despite being radio buttons).
I've googled this, and searched the forum, but apparently I'm the only one seeing this nuisance. It has no real impact on phone usage, it just bugs me to see the additional signal indicator all the time.
Attached screenshot for your viewing pleasure.
turn off phone, take out sim, restart, go to apps and find the settings app and clear the cache for the settings app. turn off, put in sim, start phone.

Guess I should have thought about that... Thanks, it actually worked!
List any issues that you might be having after flashing the international rom.
This will be a good area for people to report issues they might be having after flashing their T-Mobile 6T.
I'll be updating with the posted issues and resolutions thus far on this post, when I'm out of work.

There's been conversions way before the new conversion methods, you will most likely have to comb through the threads and find them. But to answer your issue, I would try a reflash I've been on international side since 9.0.4 and wifi calling has worked for me on every update I've updated to.
I see it says VoWifi in the corner. But, there are no settings I can find to configure any type of "Wifi Calling". Even typing "Wi-Fi or wifi" into the settings search menu yields nothing in the realm of calls over wifi.
Thanks guys! I got it figured out.

Yes, can't find the settings to turn the VoWiFi or VoLTE on/off. They're on currently but I don't need VoWiFi on at home.
One other thing that I see is both sims have same IMEI. It doesn't prevent it from being dual sim operable. But is there a way to change the second sim's IMEI?

That just turns the icon off not the actual setting. VoWiFi is still on if you disable the icon.

From your phone keypad dial *#800# -> oneplus Logkit -> Function Switch -> enable both VoLTE and VoWifi switch. Restart your phone and try to locate them again in settings.

The last option I can think of is contact OnePlus support!
It's through sim and network if I call correctly. I switched back this morning to unlock my phone.
