XT1053 Battery tanked while on USB - Moto X Q&A

I connected my X while in fastboot because I was going to unlock my bootloader. I decided I wanted to back up some photos and rebooted while connected to my Toshiba. After the boot, it immediately threw the alert for being below 14 percent.
Any ideas what happened?

If I understand you right you'd connected your phone to pc and turned it off (pc). If so, it is normal.
When the pc is off, all pheripherals are off too. So, your phone discharging. That happened to me once too.

No, I'm sorry. I connected my phone while in fastboot, then rebooted the phone. The PC was on the entire time. That battery consumption was over less than five minutes.

I recharged the phone and only got about 6 hours of battery. I had been pulling 16. This is pretty messed up.

Let it completely die and charge until full while it's off. It's supposed to recalibrate the battery. When I was on the stock ROM my phone would stay on 1% for hours until it died. I'm on CM now and it lasts about a half hour on 1% battery. I'm not the only one with this problem. Battery lasts forever but you never know when it will die.

I ran 27 hours before it shut itself off. I charged it to %100 (took about 3 hours)
I started the phone:
THE OS DIDN'T UPDATE THE BATTERY!
It climbed to about %25 according to the OS, and has taken several hours to drop again.
Minutes before it shut itself off.
Shortly after turning the phone back on and it gave me a bat level warning.

Sudden terrible battery

Yesterday I used an app to wipe my battery stats because I switched to CM7. I wiped the stats in the morning and everything was fine, I was studying for finals all day so I went to bed with a 60% charge.
I know you aren't supposed to charge it when it is that high, but I've had issues with the phone dying overnight and missing class because my alarm wouldn't go off.
Long story short, this screenshot is from today.

I woke up today and unplugged my phone and basically did nothing. I have never changed my CPU settings so i don't think it's overclocked or anything.

Get titanium backup - backup all app data, then format /system, /data and /cache, reinstall your ROM.

No.This is not normal!
Did u charged the phone continuously for 3 hours?? Until the 100% battery icon came?
"Yes Iam a Gangnam Style Fan......
Actually who's not ...?"
yep
until it say that the battery is charged and i should disconnect the charger
@OP wipe battery stats from cwm and use your phone till it goes to complitely dry and switch off after that charge your phone to 100% continuously without break the charge even single min. till the notification shows.
And see the difference..

Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 T815 battery failure or probably motherboard issues

Hi
i guess i've got a major problem.
while normally using my galaxy tab s2 9.7 t815 it start becaming really hot in the center-right part and battery charge fallen down very quickly. While this was happening I turned it off (i mean shut down/power off, not the only black screen) to let it cool down. Even when off it was always very hot and when i turned it on half hour later battery was something around 20-30% lower. Since it was not charging either, I downloaded Gsam battery monitor just to discover that the ongoing drainage cannot be stopped by the charge: without the charger connected, gsam said a little more than -2000ma, with the charger around -1800 (figures where not stable).
So battery goes from 90% to 0% in less than 2 hours i guess. Now i'm not able to turn it on because it doesn't charge (it always stays at 0%) and it turn off immediately.
Today i've opened it and the component that gets hot is the one between battery and sim/sd location (hope the image added below works). Checked and unpluggled/replugged every connector nothing changed.
Tablet is rooted. I've never used it hard: i use it mostly to surf the web, email, few minor apps, no games at all.
Thanks for your help

I have a similar issue, I thought the battery was near it's end of life (2 years old) so I got a new one put it an I'm still having the issue. Something is causing alot of battery drain when Idle. If I go to battery in settings there aren't any apps acting up, it's the phone idle that's using the majority of the battery and it's not even lasting 24 hours with less than 30 min screen time. Not sure what to do tbh. I tried a hard reset too and no improvement.
Hi,
Im not expert at this , sorry if this not helpful but have you try background restriction. It located at battery setting

I got a new phone and charged the G8 to 45% then turned it off, when I woke up the next morning it was dead. There's a short to ground somewhere on one of the logic boards I'm going to try replacing the charge port logic board, the other one isn't worth replacing.

A8+ battery drain

Hi!
I have a problem with my phone. It discharges by 50% overnight. I changed the battery, reset to factory settings. Nothing’s changed. The phone does the same with the old original battery, and with the new Chinese one, before resetting to factory settings, and after.
In order to find the source of battery drain, I’ve installed the GSAM battery monitor app and gave it the necessary rights through adb. Also, I’ve done wipe cash partition.
Could you please help to understand the results of app monitoring? The screenshots show the monitoring results for the last 8 hours when the phone was locked. Please, explain what might cause battery drain?
Spoiler: screens

Make a note of the battery status. Turn off the phone completely. Turn on the phone after 12 hours and read the battery status.
Write the results here.

66% (Info from GSAM: 3.86V, 263mA) was yesterday, 13% after 12h (3.51V, -866 mA).
Interesting.
It seems that the phone's electronics have damage or there are current escapes through micro short circuits caused by dirt on the exposed PCB tracks.
The first thing you can do is blow the inside of the phone with compressed air and/or wash the surface with isopropyl alcohol and then dry it well.
