Anyone have any idea how to use this? When I select this mode, I get the pop up window that explains what it is and the message at the bottom to align the circle with the pointer, but the screen shows a blue dot inside the white circle no matter where I'm pointing, which orientation I'm holding the phone and there's no option to activate the camera....it's grayed out, and the settings are for the video only. I can tap on the video button, but then it just records video.
Anyone have any idea how to actually use this mode?
Follow the information on the screen. It'll tell you what to do. The dot will be your focal point and the Circle will eventually pop up. You'll need to go either left or right or straight.

The circle doesn't do anything. I have it pointing down a hall way and nothing happens. ..
once you start panning or moving forward a new circle shows up, you just match the dot to the new circle, very simple
Is it supposed to automatically just detect the "scene" and start? Are there some other settings that, when activated, disable this functionality? Do you have to activate the first shot by hitting the camera button (because if so, mine doesn't let me tap on it).

I swear I tried that! I started walking down the hallway, and there are doors visible that are open along the hallway, and NOTHING happens... :crying::crying::crying: I WANT THIS FEATURE TO WORK! LOL

Ok, after 30 mins with Samsung tech support and then booting up into Safe Mode, we determined that there's some 3rd party app that may be inhibiting the VT Shot function, because it DID work in Safe Mode. I even uninstalled the google camera app.....Although that didn't seem to be the issue.....with this in mind, and knowing that this phone is not rooted, what's the best approach to help identify which app could be the culprit here? I don't want to wholesale factory reset and slowly add one app at a time....any ideas?

SOLVED! I FIGURED OUT THE CULPRIT! On my old S4, I was using the app "Moves" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.protogeo.moves) which was a Pedometer app. But now that S Health is so integrated with the phone, I actually don't need it, so when I removed it, Virtual Tour Shot cam mode started working. Makes sense that the app would interfere with the motion sensor.....

i bet you feel soooooooo relieved. its one of the best feelings in the world to go through meticulous trial and error and finally find the problem. congrats i really know how you feel haha
For sure! Especially because this is my first Android device which I have NOT rooted (victim of circumstance, not elective), so I knew it wasn't because of some weird rooted circumventing process. On the plus side, with s health's built-in pedometer setting, there's no need for Moves anymore.

There ins't another way to open apps without unlocking? From the lock screen itself.
You would need to install GravityBox or a different lock screen.

nhizzat is right, you can say "Okay, Google Now," and then "Lauch [App Name]." But that's about it. You could possibly assign another app to the Quick Capture double wrist-flick motion if you have root capabilities- I'd suggest googling it.
The option to change the app that the double-twist open is a possiblity, but I could open half of my apps without any concern of privacy (like Spotify, Youtube, even SMS).
None of all Lockscreens I've tried had an option to launch apps without needing to unlock the device, neither GravityBox

In my case the ok google mic issue was fixed when I got rid of the boot warning (I needed to get rid of TWRP). Recording works perfectly for me in Camera. I do experience video playback issues in Photos app when playing with the "create movie" feature.
Snapchat is broken too. If you take a picture with the front facing camera at least, it turns the image upside down. Do not know if it does this anywhere else. I already went back to 5.1.1.
Google wallet didn't work for me today - NFC didn't trigger at the terminal.
Also, VoLTE on Verizon isn't working, can't even enable it on my phone, there is no Advanced Calling setting.

VoLTE definitely works on Verizon. I didn't have to remove it/re-add it. Just go into your dialer type *#*#4636#*#* and enable VoLTE flag and then turn on Airplane mode and turn it back on and the setting should be back.

does okay google work for you when the screen is off and NOT on the charger?
The only app I had problems with (that wasn't mentioned) is CheckBook Genius 3. In M, that app can no longer see (or restore) its backup files, even though it can create new backups in the same folder (which it still won't be able to see).
Other than that, I had the same issue with FolderSync as reported, and Okay Google wouldn't work at all (even though I tried the "disable wi-fi" and "use alternate launcher" fixes as instructed in other threads). This last was the killer for me, and I'm back to Lollipop for now. :crying:

With the announcement of the new gestures feature for the Pixel 4 I thought: "I should try something similar with Tasker".
Here it is!
It's obviously less precise because you don't have all the extra sensors needed for accurate gestures, but on the other hand it's infinitely more customizable!
Depending on what situation you're in, you'll be able to do lots of different things!
Included are:
Music control gestures
Whatsapp gesture
These are just 2 examples. You can expand on these and do whatever you want with them!
Import the project here!
Enjoy!
Great job Joao!!!
If I can, I would like to share mine too from time ago. Hope this helps yours

Thanks. Can you verify that you have Tasker 5.8.2?
Also, did you give AutoNotification access to your notifications? Go to Tasker > Menu > More > Android Settings > Notification Access > Check if AutoNotification is enabled.

Yes, version 5.8.2 installed. AutoNotification has an access. All is set as you indicate. Maybe there is an issue with my proximity sensor. I test it by dialing *#77692# and by default it was off. I turned it on and It worked perfectly. On second attempt to dial It was off again. Maybe It is activated on samsung S10 only at performing specific action as making phone call?
I also checked with Sensoroid - Senso info app what sensor are there at my S10. It lists about 52 sensors found including TMD4910 Proximity sensor, Proximity pocket and Palm Proximity Sensor.

Ah yes, that is possibly the issue! I've had reports from other people that the S10's sensor is not working as it should and only turns on during calls... Unfortunately I can't help with that one Check here for example.
I would love to hear some other ideas that people on this thread used when activating this. I'm not a WhatsApp user, so I'm only basing my experiences through GPM. Any additional apps where this could be advantageous?

Start with making sure the proximity sensor is working. A poster above with a Samsung had a problem like that. If you need an app to test it, try Sensors Toolbox
Then look at the tasker log and see if there is any messages there that will help.
Are you trying the WhatsApp or music controls?

I actually installed this to see what was up. On the music version, the profile "Proximity With Music" has three contexts. The AutoNotification context is set to trigger the profile only on notifications from specific apps. You need to check and make sure your app is enabled there. Also, if you don't have AutoNotification installed, it won't work.
As far as taking a photo, that definitely can be done. Here is a Air Camera project. It builds on Joao's project and requires AutoInput to be installed.
It's possible that it won't work out of the "box" due to two things.
1) The "Camera" profile gets triggered based on the Google Camera app opening. This would need to be updated to whichever camera app is used.
2) In the "Handle Camera Gesture" profile entry task, the AutoInput action is expecting the Google Camera app. If that doesn't exist, that action can be updated to operate the shutter button in whatever camera app is installed.
NOTE: In the "Handle Camera Gesture" profile entry task, there is a paused action, "Take Photo". That is actually the Tasker action that will take a photo regardless whether the camera is open or not. It's a bit silly in this application but could be used instead of the AutoInput action.
Hey,
Every time when I open the camera app this screen appears.

Voice control is off. When I turn it on the message don't appear. But I don't need voice control

Have the same issue. Just updated my S10+ to Android 10 this morning. Met my friend and she also updated today and has the same issue on her phone.
Talked with Samsung support and they have no idea. After a bit of back and forth I convinced them to escalate.
This should be the Ref # for this specific escalation: 2222899743
Please contact their support to submit examples.
As for now I'm just going to use Tasker to dismiss that notice every time I open Camera.
Samsung said to me I have to hard reset my phone this is no option
Also have this issue, S10e. Don't use voice control for anything so it's all switched off. Only appeared with the Android 10 update as well.
Same problem here. Galaxy S10. Happend after upgrading from OneUI 1 to 2.
Same problem here as well, S10e. Just got the phone so don't know if it is caused by the upgrade or not. Fact is that I managed to disable most of the Bixby and other samsung apps - but this pop keeps coming up. I have tried Gcam, but that one crashes quite often.

Hello All,
I discovered the prompt to turn on TalkBack stopped after I disabled an app I was using called Holey Light. Holey Light needed extra permissions so it could give me a notification light around the front camera. Don't know why, but after turning it off via the Accessibility > Installed Services setting, the prompt stopped happening.

Interesting, I also have Holey Light. I disabled it and the pop-up in the camera disappeared, but I quite like Holey Light so that's a bit of a pain. HL also seemed to need to change the Text-to-Speech language from English (UK) to English (US), although I'm not sure that is necessarily relevant.
Anyway, looks like maybe you've found the cause, nice one :good: . Hopefully Chainfire might be able to work out if it's anything he can fix.

Accessibility Service could be the Cause
Go to Settings -> Accessibility-> Installed Services, and turn off Installed services one at a time. Check if the prompt disappears. For me, it was the "Select to speak" service that caused it. Other folks found Holey Light to be the cause.

Try aodNotify.
I had this problem as well, was good to find these posts. It looks to be solved in the latest update of Holey Light
Yes, not sure if it was a HL update (don't recall one) or the February security update (more likely), but I was able to turn the Voice Activation off on my camera and the pop-up hasn't come back.
