[Q] DIY Screen Replacement - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone used any of the third party screen replacement kits and had any luck with them? I've seen a bunch on Amazon and eBay but haven't seen any good guides for using them or major success stories.

Interchangable Backplates

I remember reading about the possibility of having different battery covers, however I haven't found any. Is HTC or any other company planning on selling these?
My hd2 unfortunately already has a dent in the battery cover

Genuine HD2 housing backplate spare parts

thought id post up on here as i have done on the hd2 forum as to where people out of warranty, not under contract or not wanting to risk some of the crap on ebay can find genuine spare parts for this phone?
i myself would like a battery cover and rear housing but cannot find anywhere that will sell one. are phone companies just making phones now and not parts to go with them and leaving it up to 3rd parties to make knock off goods?
others threads where people have tried htc directly have been unsuccessful. my provider doesnt want to help and i dont want to part with hard earned cash for ebay items or similar as they all say they are genuine items but have subtle differences each time.
anyone help?

I bought a replacement battery cover here: http://www.netimes.com/shop/original-htc-hd2-battery-cover-p-2564.html?cPath=80_731
It appeared to be a genuine part and worked well.
You can find the housing parts here:

Note that they also sell the battery cover but slightly dearer, the reason why I didn't purchase from them. However, I have purchased other products from them in the past and they are trustworthy.

Replacement screen

Hello all,
My lg g2 of verizon vs980 model. The screen got damaged due to fall and i need to purchase new screen.
I did search on amazon and ebay and got multiple options.
Would like to know which screen is worth getting and known to work flawlessly.
Thanks.
Does this happen every fall? Because fall will come again next year. Are you sure you want to replace your screen every year?
Unfortunately, I just don't have the answer to your question, but eBay is where I'd probably go. Just stick to sellers with overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Sure. Thanks for idea.
Is it same screen across all models?
Did you ever find one? I bought the cheapest one off ebay awhile back (dumb I know) and the screen cracked within the first week or two and I didn't even drop the thing. Anyways I too would like a reference so I can get a reliable screen.

Screen Replacement

Long story short, didn't know I could get Motocare after the fact, and when I did find out, I was four days out of the window and no one at Moto is willing to cut me any kind of slack or a break when doing a screen replacement and doing the $500 credit card hold.
Are there any third party locations that can do a screen repair or has anyone been successful with the various kits on ebay and amazon? I don't mind getting my hands dirty doing it myself, but I'd rather have it done professionally if I could.

Motorola will repair your screen without the Extended Service for $125. I've asked them multiple times to confirm about this and it's been posted here before. They will probably need you to do standard repair, so you may be without a phone for a week or so.
...So has the fact that you can buy ESP 30 days after purchase of device.
