[Q] date display on lock screen - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Q&A, Help & Troublesh

I have a droid turbo. Is there a way to get the date to display on the lock screen? Currently I have a time display and notifications, but I want the date too. Is this possible?

I second this.

The stock lockscreen has it, which means you need to turn off Moto's active display.

I like the active display, just wish it had the date also.

[Q] Active Display issue

Anyone else have a problem with their active display "breathing"?

Well I'm not sure if it's an actual issue or normal but from my understanding the phone is supposed to breather when left idle right? By that I mean flash the time

I think it only does that for some notifications. otherwise it will only flash the time when you pick it up or move it.
Agreed

Oh ok jus making sure thought it was supposed to do that regardless of notifications or not
By "breathing" do you mean the screen fading in and out constantly when there are notifications pending?
Posted about it here to see if it was normal or not, because I don't remember it from the first two days I had the phone, but noticed it this morning.

Yep that what the breathing is exactly. It supposed to reduce the need to unlock the phone to check for social media/email updates.

Charging notification on active screen?

One thing I'm missing on the X is some type of notification of my battery charge. Is there any way to get say a charge level on the active notification screen, so when I touch/pick it up it'll say the battery level along with the time.
I think there's something like that in gravity box... Tho that may have been lock screen... Can't remember. Lol

the active notification screen will tell you when your battery is super-low, but nothign that indicates you're charging.

Yea, that's on the lock screen. I want it on the black active notification screen.
Battery level and date on active notification would be awesome.

I use Tasker to turn on the green led light that is located in the ear piece. Yes, it has an led.
You can also use this apparently.

Well my assumption was anyone asking for nonstandard features would be rooted. I guess that may be a bad assumption with the release of 4.4.2, but typically anyone on XDA would at least have root.

[Q] z1s says bootloader unlock allowed: Yes

Hey guys I am confused about this. I had a z1s before and sold it off before root was achieved. My brother recently bought a z1s and after running through the steps to check the bootloader status it says bootloader unlock status allowed: Yes. Does this mean I can unlock the bootloader through sony?....Also does every z1s say this? I was under the impression they all stated no.
Can you take a screen shot of the phone's About section under Settings?

Interesting...that makes me hopeful lol. I've yet to see that on a Z1S.
Anybody else notice that the first shot shows every indication of using the Android L theme -- all white flat icons in the status bar, the Triangle / Circle / Square nav bar -- yet in the second shot none of that is present?
These are the rocks upon which our hopes are dashed.

The sony status bar is not present in the original picture because on my current setup (oppo n1 pa 4.5) when you press the photo in gallery it brings up a menu that blocks the top of the said screenshot....just to set the record straight...I am interested to hear suggestions on how to help with the development of this phone or further info in proceeding to unlock the bootloader

No reboot?

I just switched from the xperia to the Turbo the other day. I noticed that in the power menu there is no restart or reboot. Is this correct? I have to power down completely and then power back on?

Nothing from the Maxx is helpful to us right now. Sony coded in the reboot function as part of their own customization. If/when we get root, there are apps on the market that also let you reboot.
Will we get root? Maybe...quite a few flagship devices are becoming more and more unrootable.
Maxx already has it.

I'm not convinced that they will ever officially release it.
Keep in mind you can get a Nexus on an installment plan from Motorola and pop in your sim. It will work fine on Verizon, sans advanced calling.

Another quick question, when I had my s3, I was running lollipop with art..... how many are running art on this? Is it better on here?
If you enable developer options, you can switch without the need for root. Don't know if anyone has caught that yet.

OK it does reboot, but its not a proper reboot. Your forcing the phone to shutdown, then start back up. Also, I don't think the bootup took as long.

Powering the phone off and then continuing to hold the power button until it turns back on is not a reboot.
If you shut down your computer and then press the power to turn it back on, did you reboot it? Of course not. Your powered it off then turned it back on.
If you want to see what a real reboot looks like, hook your phone to your computer and use ADB to reboot it.

Actually it reboots on its own. As soon as it forced powered off I let off of the power button. It then rebooted. But still, not a true reboot like you said.

Always on display burn in

Hi guys just wondering I've switched off always in display right from the box because I was worried about burn in but after seeing my friends s8 plus always on display I feel I'm missing out lol
My question does always on display have any way of creating screen burn in of any sorts or degrade the quality of the display quicker then normal
Thanks
It's always in a different location to prevent burn in.

Thx, don't know how the heck I missed it!
In my settings, there's no option to have it move all over the screen. Is it that subtle that I dont see it move around? I like the AOD but I dont know how it cant create a chance of screen burn-in
It can be a very subtle move but it is definitely moving. You may not notice it. Sometimes I'll see it move about an inch, but other times not at all that I can tell. Enjoy your AOD, it won't burn into your display.
I'm terrified to leave my house in case I get eaten by a Llama.

I've experienced the burn in screen with galaxy s8. The burn in started first in the place of home button and navigation bar then spread to the lower half of the screen. So now I deactivated AOD and navigation bar in my note9.
Sorry for my bad english
