McGuider and Diamond - Installation

Hi All,
I have done a search in the forum but couldn't find my answer so please excuse if this has been posted already and guide me to the right link. Thanks
Can someone please guide me how to install McGuider 7 on Diamond. Your help will be much appreciated.

Hi Undertones, what problems do you encounter actually?

I've also problems with installing McGuider.
First I get a message that the file AUTORUN.EXE can not be opened because of problems with the certificates.
After this I get a message "Invalid Copy of Sygic Drive SD card".
McGuider is sold on a SD card.
A Diamond has no SD-slot so I have to copy the files to the internal storage card.

You two should read the FAQ on the mcguider homepage before coming here. It explains explicitly what you are asking here right now.

I'm sorry, but that's not true! I've been there and I can't find the way to pass this situation. Can anyone help?

OK if you all don't know as to what Dev forum post I am talking about here it is. Android 4.0.X for Streak7 [WIP]
Ok now that out of the way, why I am posting this here is because the 10 post rule. And as I have been a member for a bit now. I have not needed to post anything because the look and read thing has got me all the info I needed.
So I am posting this here in hopes that someone in the dev forum may see it and help.
I am running the B3 and everything work ok. Outside of the cam but hell I never used that thing ever. But what I have found is that even thought it has SuperUser installed on it I can run RomManager just fine out side of it not flashing a working Recovery but that's cool. I can do that with fastboot. And Tibackup works fine.
What i have hit when I use any Root File managers when I try to mount the file system into R/W it fails and then says I don't have root. What's the deal is it a real "Root" on this beta or it more like a Admin account?
Because when I try to ADB trem into it at the recovery it will not remount the file system as r/w only can do that on the SD Card and the user space. 2nd thing I have found is that things like the weather under ground app in the bar does not load at start up. And the last thing is that the brightness will not auto set it's self no mater where I move the slider to that recheck that. But the brightness bar it's self does work just not the Auto part.
So I hope one of the devs or something can post there could cross link to this post thanks.

Its not a problem with su, thats right just fine, its mounting system that is the issue.

I would have if XDA did not make you have to post 10 times to post in a dev forum. So I see that some people still sees what they want and discard the rest. As I said in the first part of my post that was what I would done if I could have.

As for this part I was not saying that Superuser was massed up. I was just pointing out that most of the Superuser ie. root stuff can be done. Here is what makes something an Admin level in *inx or System ie Root or god. Is that in admin you can do all most everything you can with Root but some low level file system stuff can't be done with an Admin level account. Where as Root you have full god like control of the whole OS. So you can kill you whole system by massing around at that level.

Just install CWM and save yourself a lot of time.

Issue with app's ?

I have issues here.
I would install market and Astro filemanager.
But I got info that they already was installed.
I cannot see them in the Application->Manage applications
It tells me, that " you don't have any third party apps installed".
I had the idea, that the GT540 is rooted, but obvciously not, as I cannot install apk's using the adb command.
Beside this, I also have this:
process com.android.vending issue.
What can I do?

You've missed the forum, this should be in General or Themes and Apps forum.
You haven't stated what ROM are you using.
Are you trying to install Astro via Play Store or from apk on sd card?
com.android.vending is a Google Play Store app, has it updated itself or is still Market?

Sorry for posting a wrong place :-(
I'm not sure what ROM I'm using. It's the dafault one, as it has not been modified, but Don't know. How to see it?.
It's an LG GT540 I use.
Iwould install it from apk on SD card, but due to a reason I don't know, I cannot get adb to work.
It tells me, that device not found.
I have formatted the SD card with FAT32, and now I cannot see the system path.
Bot worth to mention, I'm a newcomer here on Android :crying:

On android 2.1 adb work only on recovery mode just make a hardreset and everything will be just fine

Don't worry about the wrong forum thing we all learn!

How to set the phone in recovery mode ?.
I have made a hard reset many times.

VOLUME UP + HOME + SEARCH
It was after such a stunt, that the following occured :angel:
And what is the next to be done now ?.

I'm not sure what puzzled me, but now all is working.
I did an factory reset -one of an enormeus lot-, and after all worked again.
Now I can go to Market and do all what I want.

I don't know what a bootlaoder is..... as a matter of fact i just understand the term rooting and nothing else.......:silly: I followed the guide and now I am stuck at step 8 of the htcdev.com tutorial about unlocking the bootloader......!!!!
Please skype me, and help me out (We will share screens.....)

my network wont allow video links via my pc, it cant handle it so i cannot Skype, only thing i can do is teamviewer.
if your stuck at step 8, what are you stuck with?
you need to be a lot clearer if you can as it will help a lot more

I just want to get the identifier token.... I.e the fastboot oem get_identifier_token..... It says " waiting for the device" and it remains just like that....... Help me out ... Let's teamview on 5:30 am ..... Please convert the time to gmt +5:30..... Online there are many timezone converters..... Please help me out somehow....

If your getting stuck at the waiting for device, then u havent done the update first at step 1.
The HTC Dev part is solely down to you..
Firstly plug your phone into the computer and select charge option.
When u Goto htcdev, sign in. Select salsa from phone. Now it will ask you to update the hboot, do this. Don't skip it. Once updtaed then Goto step 8 and get the token code.

in command prompt on windows: adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2
worked for me, without having root. This command "pm setInstallLocation 2" sets the default install location to the SD-Card. You can move some more programs like Whatsapp ... to SD-Card (no system apps) and it saves some MB of internal storage.
There are only some problems when plugging your phone to USB as mass storage or sync ( e.g. don't move HTC Sync to SD-Card, it crashes when you want to sync ) .

By doing this u create a problem....no access to USB mode is making the phone useless lol what would be the point?

No, you didn't read it right!
I only said that moving the HTC Sync app to SD makes no sense. Using an application from SD card is not possible only in this case, when you use your phone as mass storage or sync because the SD card is unmounted from Android. I don't see
Other problems I don't have with this method. The rest of my phone still can be used. I have 24 of 30 apps on SD card and have 38 MB free internal space since weeks.
Trust me, I am an engineer.

Why would u move a system app that's important to the running to sd anyway lol.
Things you push to SD are non system applications. If you move things like sync/market and other big memory apps to SD, u cause so many issues Inc fcs and system failures.
I run 1.2gb internal memory, still able to use SD card at anytime in anyway.
Non of my apps use SD card due to failures on loading while USB mode is active. Like external SMS apps etc.

[Q] CM Cleaner deleted almost everything on my VR microSD

Hey guys!
CM cleaner managed to wipe out almost everything on my microSD card that came with the VR. Is there a way to recover them? I've read that the content of the card couldn't be acquired through any sort of distribution method due to licensing agreements attached to some of the content.
This is such a bummer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

First try sd card recovery software. There is many free ones.

I could drop box you the contents of my micro sd card, I have vr games saved now but could try and filter the unnecessary info out.

I went to Oculus forum and found out that I'm not the lone victim. Also, those who have had the same issue didn't get any help from the support team. Instead, they were directed to a page on how to back up files. Well I shouldn't have had this problem if I had done it. Guess it's too late now.
I'm able to restore most of the files somehow. Thanks.

That would be great. I think it's the only fix others did. I still have few apps that won't budge. I'll check which are those to save you time.

Thanks for this, the VR SD card appears to be empty or not read by my Note 4.
For some reason I can't download the entire .zip file as it gets interrupted around 4 GB. I have tried two times and it stops at 4,194.

Copy the "Oculus" folder that you just transfered to the root directory of your microSD card.

I'm not sure if it is the file but the quality of the 360 videos is not that good. I am wondering if it is my screen protector film!
