Working GApps: http://d-h.st/YQG

please help me , after flashing the new CM12 nightly I experience that installation hangs on message "Upgraid Android..... Starting Apps"
I came from the last full functionally cm11 nightly and I upgrade my V to CM12 by the cyanogenmod updater (stock gapps package).
Also I tryed to format sd, wipe all and install sony stock rom first , performing a clean and complete installation . Than Installed CM11 last nightly by flashing the boot.img inside the zip package (without gapps). So after installation I used cyanogenmod updater to download and upgrade my device but I experience the same problem.
boot.img recovery from cm11 NIGHTLY package version 6.0.5.1
the unofficial cm12 nightly by NEO with TWRP recovery inside works fine , I have never encountered any installation problem.

Same here. Tried every clean way with and without gapps. Wiped dalvik, system, data, cache, secure and flash only the cm12 zip, but still stuck after installing 79 apps at Starting apps.

Uaooo I felt a little silly until a few moments ago so I am happy not to be alone, thanks banciii

Don't worry, "sadly" u r not alone. In the other cm12 (neo's homebuild) thread, there are a few people who also installed nightly and reported the same issue.

Now me with the same problem, but... After updating and seeing UPGRADING APPS sign for half and hour, i rebooted my phone, now, with ANY rom it boots infinitely. And i don't want to do a factory reset.

What does it means "any rom" ? What recovery do you are using ?

@codeworkx or @championswimmer do you see any bugfix relevant changes in the next nightly, which would allow us to install and run the new build? :fingers-crossed:
Edit: Nevermind, I already made a nandroid backup and installed 01.19. nightly after full wipe. The result is the same.

same problem , it gets stuck at starting app

WhiteNeo's build is 303mb, but the nightly is only 265mb, is there any reason for this difference?

My build is odexed so you don't have to wait for ages after updating.

Yes, it's stuck at upgrading apps again! Don't flash!

Hi,
When stuck, all I can see is those lines in logcat :
Code:
W/AudioSystem( 889): AudioPolicyService not published, waiting...
I/ServiceManager( 889): Waiting for service media.audio_policy...
I/ServiceManager( 889): Waiting for service media.audio_policy...

Hope it helps,

Same issue with 0120, do not flash it.

@championswimmer
I assume this happens because of selinux denials for mediaserver.
Do a eng build and check /data/misc/audit/audit.log

We missed to update libqc-opt.so. If we can call it "update" at all.
Had to modify it using a hexeditor to work with L.
It's pushed to repos.

Yes it is and this release works like a charm!
The people at Cyanogenmod should really post this update as the latest one available for Buzz owners on their website, so that future downloaders may not run into the CM7.1.0.0 Status Bar bug , since it is my understanding we all did here

Reporting Bugs
You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread. Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running as stock as possible. This means no custom kernel, no custom framework modification, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the rom again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. The following is a useful format to follow.

There shouldn't be any real difference between the nightly and the RC, the RCs ara build from the gb-release branch which gets taged some time before building the RCs, so every maintainer can test against this branch.
Nightly builds are build from the gingerbread branch without any testing.

I'm glad this is up
Thanks!
Am I going crazy over here or Gapps just won't work for me with this build?
I did a full wipe, installed the nightly, then installed PA Gapps and gapps just crash like crazy right after boot.
I then did a full wipe again, installed the rom, installed banks gapps hoping it will work this time, but NOPE, it doesn't bite...
Here's me doing a full wipe again, installing the rom and waiting for it to boot, then reboot to recovery, flash Gapps, but same thing happens. Setup wizard crashes and everything else gapps-related crashes too... This is a lot of fun! I'll keep trying to fix the problem, but I'd also welcome suggestions. ^_^

Flashed the nightly, after a system/data wipe. And I also enabled the root access via developer settings, but didn't work. The xperia T just freezes when I try to get the root access in an app. :silly:
For a moment after flashing the latest nightly I seemed to have mobile data working. While setting up my phone with the initial setup wizard, "3G" appeared on the signal icon and little arrows went back and forth. That lasted seconds, then was replaced by an esclamation mark and there was no mobile data ever since...
cm12 nightlies stopped till data is fixed.

Yeah, this was what we had right now, but a new build will come as soon as either of us (me or Varun) find some time to build and test.

You need to flash the older baseband (from the factory images, dated Dec 5. 2014.)
The newer version that shipped with the latest OTA doesn't work.

Could you release the device sources so that we could have a look at them and try solving those Phone UI problems.. I know you are concerned about people cooking various roms with unfinished sources.. but is there a way you can provide sources to the devs who wanna help?
@cdesai @varun.chitre15
I'd really appreciate it if you released your sources.. Otherwise can guys please help us out with our sources.. I could really use some help with ril.. got the Sim working with incoming calls and messaging working perfectly but outgoing calls have a problem.. I could really use some help..

What doesn't work:
Dual SIM (Single SIM operation is fine)
FM Radio (no audio)
All major hardware features are mostly working just fine, unless mentioned above.
Installation:
Backup your data
Install it from recovery
Optionally install the Google Addon
Reporting Bugs:
You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread. Note that this is a preview release and non-device specific bugs will not be accepted. Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running as stock as possible. This means no custom kernel, no custom framework modification, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the build again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.
The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved.

you are wiping /data only. i was talking about wiping /data/media too as the file system might be getting corrupt resulting in boot loop.
for best result i suggest you fastboot to stock rom and try again. this is more of a sure shot but long cut method.

cdesai, can you please list out what's working and what's not..?
I know that you had already posted that info i this thread, but i read issues like baseband not working, after installing some of the user got erased their IMEI numbers and problems in outgoing calls as well.
So help me clearing my queries.
If i install the rom what would be the effect i.e. Internal Memory Erased along with photos and installed apps,Root access removed etc.
Thank you in advanced....
Nothing wrong will happen, just flash the rom and flash the 5 dec baseband (google it)and pa lollipop gapps, or better wait for the official update which is rolling on 26 as per the news.

About CM:
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

No, CM has not officially merged bump for the v500 yet. But, this works:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3081457
Edit: CM12.1 is now bumped.
Ive *finally* figured out why most of the games wont install from the Amazon App Store. There appears to be a conflict with lollipop's ability to move applications to the sdcard and Amazon App Store. But, there is a way of temporarily fixing it.
Open terminal and type:
Code:
su
umount /storage/sdcard1
Now the sdcard is unmounted and all the games can be installed from Amazon App Store. Physically removing the sdcard would also work.
Edit: removed outdated files and replaced with instructions using terminal commands.
A bug I've found is that live wallpapers don't work; the screen becomes proper screwed up. I'll post a screen cap when I get a chance!
Hey guys,
For use as a daily driver, would you recommend sticking to CM11 M12, or is it ok to jump to latest 12 or 12.1 nightlies?
It will be for my Dad, so looking at ROM that won't need to be updated for a while...
Cheers,
Su

But, there is a way of temporarily fixing it. If you go to Settings --> Storage and unmout the sdcard, then go back to the Amazon App Store, you can install EVERYTHING. So... wait, there is no "unmount" button in the storage settings you say? Ive patched framework-res.apk from today's nightly CM12.1 build (20150420) to add the "unmount" button back in the storage settings like it should be. I dont know why CM has not yet merged the patch I submitted to add this button back in.

Now that's a nice find. The problem is not only with the Amazon app store but with all apks not downloaded through the Play Store. Some install, some not. I've verified this with CM 12 by removing the sd card. I did not have this with AOSP 5.0.2, 5.1 and Stock Lollipop. So this seems to be a bug in CM 12, 12.1 (besides the inability to remove the SD card by software).
BTW: Another obscure bug I encountered in 12.1 is that the date of the reviews in the Play Store (German) is MMDDYYYY (it should be DDMMYYYY). Tried different gapps for 5.1.
There were some problems, but they seem fixed in the new cm12.1 from today (21.04).
Brightness works + playstore keeps crashing everytime I try to start it.
Is there any reason why the newest nightlies don't appear under setting - about tablet - cyanogen updates?
Hi
Currently on 21/04 nightly. Getting random reboots, access internet site, suddenly tab reboots. Has also happened when I was on 18/04 and accessed settings to check for cyanogen updates (which by the way) were showing not available .

Have you tried replacing trebuchet as the launcher? I've had much less problems using Google Now Launcher or Nova Launcher.

Updated to 20150422 nightly (dirty flashed over 20150418) and left the tablet on over the night: Battery stayed at 89% over 7 hours. I am facing no stability issues so far.
Great job!
Currently I flash every Nightly and it is stable so far. Bluetooth reconnecting issue persists, everything else is working fine.

No. When I first installed CM12.1 (The nightly from 20150416) I did a clean install. Doing so is always recommended when installing a newer version of android.
