Hi, I made the mistake of entering in the sim-unlock code wrong too many times and now my Moto X asks for a unlock code and shows "Network Unlock Request Unsuccessful" no matter what sim card I use (even my own carrier). Has anyone had a similar issue before and managed to find a fix?
Have you googled it??
Personally I've never heard of it. Sorry.

Yeah I did. The only thing similar that I could find was with the Motorola Atrix. The solution was to flash a new radio. I've flashed radios from T-Mobile, Rogers, Retail Brasil and none of these work. Am I doing something wrong?

I have a theory, I believe if you grabbed the sbf files and flashed everything over again, I think your problem would go away! below, straight from the General guide thread, Hope that helps!

hello, did you found any solution how to make it work,im having the same problem
hello, did you found any solution how to make it work,im having the same problem
any ideas?
i have the same issue with moo x 1st gen.
tried to reflash it 3times, change radios, but nothing changed.
Simple question:
I have a UK **DUAL* SIM Moto G 2nd gen, XT1068, and I wish to flash it to an XT1064, US *SINGLE* SIM Moto G. How do I do this? Do I merely flash the US retail 4.4.4 onto it? I know this process could be carried out on the older 1st gen, to convert an XT1033 to an XT1032 (single SIM) - maybe I am impatient, but I want to try...
If you could advise me how to do this, please do let me know. What I am NOT after, is people asking me "why do you want to do this?" or telling me "Do you know the risks of X, Y or Z?" - I am an experienced engineer who's been using many platforms since the 1980s, I use Linux daily since 2003, and I know what I am doing - I know there are risks (with everything in tech, basically) and dissuasion is not needed, thanks folks
I also wanted to know how to do it :/

Thank you. Okay, so would you mind continuing to explain why I'm backing up system and modem, what i do with them once backed up.... etc? You've given me only minimal information, and I'm not told why I'm doing this or what i do with them once backed up...
Please be as descriptive as you can please, as I'm not looking to brick my phone.
Many thanks indeed for the help, i appreciate it greatly.

I guess you'd have to keep these backup on your PC, just in case, then you would follow the steps to go stock but with xt1064 files, once you flash it all, you'd start the system and check for update, if there is none, you'd download the zip and flash it by adb sideload. The backup is just for safety. My guess, and some kind obvious, is that your Sim won't work, then you'd have to flash the modem in order to see if at least sim 1 works.
Sent from my XT1068 using XDA Free mobile app
Edit: Yesterday I flashed xt1063 zip but I wasn't getting any update but it did worked. My guess is xt1064 might work

It doesn't matter - I've tried this twice tonight with fastboot errors, so I decided to err on the side of caution and restore stock UK XT1068 firmware, and wait... hehe
I could successfully convert XT1068 to XT1064 and installed Android Lollipop

Flash all command i have given
U need to check which firmware has single sim then try
First, I rooted my device, then i flashed 'TWRP-r20' recovery and flashed 'Lineage OS 15.1 - 20180422 - UNOFFICIAL - sanders'.
Everything was working fine except i couldn't CALL to anyone, So i flashed 'PixelExperience_sanders-8.1.0-OFFICIAL' and everything was same as "Lineage OS", NO INCOMING OR OUTGOING CALL,
I was getting 'Call Ended' Error.
So i decided to flash ORIGINAL ROM via fastboot.
When i booted up the rom there's no signal, after completing setup, i checked it wasn't detecting any Sim Card.
Now i have Original ROM with 'NO SIM CARD' error.
And I tried to Search Network 'Manually' and 'Automatically', both didnt work.
What to do now?

Is your network Volte?
Did you took backup after installing TWRP, if you have backup of efs and persist, most likely you'll get back your Volte on restoring.
I have the same issue but i find solution
Step by step:
1. Flash TWRP.
2. Flash Pixel Experience rom if we haven't flashed yet.
3. Turn on phone with flashed rom to obtain network signal
4. Here we will get the IMEI and only have 3g signal, so we need to restart the phone in bootloader mode and type in fastboot "fastboot erase modemst1" and "fastboot erase modemst2", and reboot again
5.turn off and into recovery, go to buckup and Select only EFS and save in your sd card
6.flash rom stock, and turn on your phone
7.turn off and get into recovery, restore your buckup
8.reboot

New Discoveries:
Problem of "Unable of Call OR Receive Call AND SMS" is ONLY IN JIO SIM CARD, I tried Airtel SIM and Its working fine, BUT Network is getting Disconnected frequently on its own EVERY FEW MINS.
The Problem of Not be able to CALL OR SMS is because now "Enhanced 4G LTE" option is GONE in Stock ROM.
My phone was not detecting the sim card after I flashed a bad radio (NON-HLOS.bin) from the wrong stock rom.
You need to be careful when flashing stock roms to make sure you have the right model and region.
Here's what I did, I hope it helps:
First find out the correct model, mine is XT1805 (Europe, dual sim)
Download the correct stock firmware for your region and model. I can't post links but ALL regions available in "https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/sanders/official/"
Once you have the correct stock rom, extract "NON-HLOS.bin" and "fsg.mbn"
Flash using fastboot:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
This got me back to the sim card being detected. I still don't have cell network on stock rom, but at least the sim is detected again
