Install xt1063 Rom on xt1068? - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, can i install any xt1063 Roms on my xt1068?
I only have 1 sim and i will only ever use the first one. So it is no Problem if it does not support dual sim.
Thanks in advance.

You can install any ROM, its the modem and radio that could be in question. I would stick with xt1068 stuff IMO.

latest 4.4.4 I believe is 21.11.27 a.k.a KXB 21.85-27 but this will just be a bugfix rather that new features
my advice if you dont want to root / custom rom is wait..... Lollipop is very close to OTA release and rumoured to be 5.0.1 .
I tried a converted xt1064 lollipop 5.0 on my xt1068 dual sim and it was awful slow and buggy - so I flashed my xt1068 back to 4.4.4 KXB 21.85-27
unless you do a OTA update or OEM update via stock recovery you need to unlock boot loader
Unlock the boot loader then you can downgrade

Diferences between XT**** versions?

Hello,
just got the Moto G 2014 and because android L seems not to be arrived for german retail devices i wanted to flash lolipop on my own.
So, i got the XT 1068. I saw some people complaining about their versions and i'm wondering if it's possible to flash for example the "The Titan Prime ROM" wich says supports 1063/1064?
are there so many different devices out? ^^
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/development/rom-titan-prime-romversion-1-0-t2989101
regarts from germany
edit:
found a version for the 1068 but still wondering about the diffrences between the devices
Hello!
XT1068 is the global dual sim version of moto G, while the 1063/1064 are single sim.
The XT1063 is global single sim and the 1064 is Canada/US single sim, the XT1069 is the Brazil dual sim model supporting DTV.

XT1064 How to have a 3G connection in Europe

hi everybody,
i have a Moto G 2014 US version XT1064 with stock 5.0.2
MSM8626BP_1032.3112.97.00R
RETUSA_AWS_CUST
kernel
3.4.42-gf18cb80
build
LXB22.99-24.12
unfortunately here in europe the connection works just as Edge.
i read a lot on this forum but i didnt find the solution
i found just that the stock version for XT1063 can be loaded on the XT1064
without the modem ...
now the question is :
is there something i can do to enable the 3G in europe
or the phone is hardwarly unable ? )))
did someone try to change modem ? baseband? or os?
tnx
jointino
I think you'll find that its a hardware thing.
Sent from my GT-P5210 using Tapatalk
r u sure about that ?

I'm having the same issue.
I saw some video on youtube about changing the phone baseband, and I'll try it soon, because I need 3G connection on my XT1064 in Europe... :S
