I flashed CWM on my xt1064 and want to restore stock recovery.
All the threads I find are for the US model restoring the entire firmware, which I don't think will work due to modem differences, etc.
Does anyone have a link to the Canadian stock recovery?
Thanks!

Hello guys
I used the mini tools to root my phone.
Installed BLN kernel without any problem.
My phone is on I8190LUBAMA1 and CSC I8190LZTOAMA1
i was looking at samsung-updates.com and saw some other firmwares newer than my stock.
Is it safe to download and install the firmware I8190LUBAMG2 ? Is marked as an Mexican firmware(I live in Brazil).
Installing this new firmware, do i lose cmw, root?
Thanks
Sergio

Hi Sergio, it is safe to install the mentioned firmware, however, consider that you are going to lose CWM and root. Furthermore, as the firmware is Mexican, it contains local apps. So, if you are planning to move to this new firmware I suggest you to after do it install the cwm again through Odin and then a Custom Rom in order to get rooted again and remove those local apps. Regards
Reyesteban,
So if i install this firmware, it will update kernel and baseband, right?
Later, when i install a custom rom the kernel and baseband will be keeped from the mexican firmware?
The installation for the Mexican Firmware should be done via Odin? or i could use CMW?

The Firmware, as it is an official one, replaces kernel, baseband and even the boot screen and you just can install it through Odin. And you are right, when installing the custom rom, kernel and baseband will keep the same. However, boot, rom apps and look&feel are going to change...
I have a Canadian variant with a different model number but I want to install firmware from tmobile which basically has the same specs, but when I do Odin flash I get fail messages. The only firmware that works is for my specific model N910W8.
How can I flash other country firmware? Anyone know how? I did it with my S5 so I'm confused. Thanks

It's not a question of another country's firmware but instead it's just a fact that
you should not and cannot odin flash a different model's firmware into your
phone no matter how similar the two models might be.
I cannot odin flash firmware from sammobile designed
for N910W8 into my N910T model either.
You are lucky that your odin flashing of N910T firmware simply failed,
it could have been a disaster since it could have easily bricked your phone.
Remember there is a BIG difference between firmware and roms...
They are NOT the same thing...
You will be able to flash some zip file roms which are designed for the N910T
successfully using twrp recovery but before you do I would strongly suggest to
do a lot of research before flashing anything so you don't wind up with a shiny
brick.
Good luck!

Appreciate your time for the answer! Thanks
I recently purchased the G920t factory unlocked version on Amazon. I rooted it and installed a custom ROM. I was hoping that someone could help me out with finding the stock firmware for the factory unlocked variant. I believe it is slightly different from the standard T-mobile firmware, as it didn't include any t-mobile apps, etc. The reason I was asking is I've been having call quality issues and wanted to flash back to stock to see if it would be resolved, but didn't want to flash to the standard t-mobile stock as I believe it is slightly different. I know I should have made a back up before flashing a custom ROM but I failed to do so and am now trying to fix the issue afterwards.
Thank you so much for any help you can offer.
What firmware was on it originally? What baseband?
My USA factory unlocked 920T shows a baseband of G920TUEU3COK1 after the latest OTA update was installed. XDA rules don't allow me to post links to SamMobile firmwares. You can search their site for "920T", but don't used the "SM-G920T1" search result. The proper firmware has "Cellular South" as the Country/Carrier.
Thank you so, so much. So that'll allow me to roll it back to the way it was right out of the box?

yes, but I don't think it'll reset the knox counter to zero.
I really wanted lollipop at the time so I installed lollipop from Motorola through recovery but it was the one from a different region or part of the world, It didn't install correctly (I wiped phoned before install) so after that happened I tried to install back to my regions (US Retail) stock 4.4.4 Kitkat but now it didn't want to install that either. The only ROM that I can get to install now is Cyanogen and a few other custom ROMs but still no stock by now lollipop has come out for my model and region XT1045 (Moto G 4G LTE Retail) but I cant get that to install either (I have stock image of lollipop).
INFO:
ROM Currently: CyanogenMod
Model: XT1045
Recovery: TWRP
Bootloader: Unlocked
Rooted: yes
Please ask for any other info that will assist you in solving my problem. Thanks in advance!
Edit: Bootloader: Unlocked status code: 3

Hello guys,
I have Samsung Note 9 (SM-N960F) and updated to Pie.
I usually use custom ROMs.
Recently after flashing a new custom ROM, I lost IMEI and signal.
To fix the problem, I flashed stock ROM successfully but IMEI is empty (UNKNOWN). There is not network signal.
I have previous custom ROM TWRP Backups. I restored to the old TWRP backups. But still the IMEI is UNKNOWN and no signal.
I had efs backup of a custom ROM as efs.img. I tried to restore it using Partition Backup app and terminal but no success.
I flashed Alexander's ROM (DEV BASE) as indicated in this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/help/lost-imei-please-help-t3847336
But still the IMEI and the signal problem is not resolved.
If you have any idea, please help me fix it.
Thanks.

what fine model you have?
anyways flash back full latest stock firmware for your device and ull get back imei.
use frija or samfirm tool to quickly download firmware.
when you flash dled firmware with odin, flash all .md5 files. also flash csc.md5 instead of home_csc.md5
if you fully flash latest October/November firmware as suggested it will work.
if you skip steps or don't use the latest files then it might not work.
once back on stock with signal, follow dr ketans guide for OEM root fix as per his pinned topic in the note 9 general discussion forums.
then flash back a recent custom rom.
suspected cause of your problems:
-modem mismatch with device model
-modem mismatch compaired to rom base
you should always flash/maintain BL and CP manually with Odin and never through rom zips. and always read rom OP regarding modem and bootlaoder.

Thank you for your info.
Currently I have slow internet connection. Anyways, I have started downloading the latest firmware using frija.
I will let you know after flashing the latest firmware when the download completes.
Thank you.
Exact same thing happened to flashing the same rom. Made my sim cards not detect. My phone has been down for a week. Finally have a day of work yesterday and fixed it by flashing stock bl, cp, and csc then flashing back to tgp rom.

Previously, I flashed October update. The flashing process completed successfully but the problem (IMEI & UNKNOWN) was not resolved. I posted the problem is not resolved here.
Then I downloaded another more recent update from another region and flashed and the problem is gone. My phone is full life.
Thank you bober10113. You helped me fix this problem.
Thank you m. murray too. I appreciate your help.
