Stuck at Sony boot logo... am i stupid? - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I have a Sony xperia Z1 (C9603) and a Locked Bootloader.
Several times I tried to install the iHakers ROM but didn't suceed. Each time I end up, as i said, stuck at the boot logo.
here is what I did :
Install Oficial FTF for Firmware 14.1.G.1.534. - Done
Root Your Phone Using VRoot or KingoApp Root or Whatever You Like. - Done
Backup TA Partition. - Done
Copy the ROM to External SDCard. - Done
Flash the Latest [NUT]'s XZ1Dual Recovery for Xperia Z1 via PC. - Done
Reboot into Recovery (If you already have a working Recovery, Skip the above steps). - Done
Make Sure to do a Wipe Data/Factory Reset before Installing the ROM. - Done
Start the Installation. (Install Zip >> Choose Zip for External SDCard). - Done
Switch Off Your Phone (Do Not Reboot). Select No to Disable Flash Recovery Confirmation. - Done
Skip to the Last Step if you are already on Firmware - 14.4.A.0.133/108. - I am on .108 but if I don't flash the kernel I am stuck.
Install Kernel.ftf for C6903 (.133) or Kernel.ftf for C6902 (.108) with Flashtool to get compatible Kernel and Baseband. - Here is my problem : I am french so I guess I need a french or universal kernel because I get this log

You may use internet download manager for downloading big files
cm11 only works on unlocked bootloader
and as you have backed up your ta partition so no worries

If you cannot boot into the OS, try Sony Update Service software.
It should work since you're still on locked bootloader.

Locked bootloader
1. Root with Bin4ry's method(*) Make sure to use v21!
2. install CWM for locked bootloaders.(*)
3. Go to recovery, wipe cache & dalvik-cache
4. Flash ROM
5. Flash kernel .140 (if you haven't already)
6. Reboot.
7. When CWM asks "ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix?", answer "No".
8. Enjoy
(*) skip these steps if you're already on a custom ROM with CWM recovery or unlocked bootlader.

I'm afraid i might brick the device, and I can't flash it at all, that's why I want to go back to stock rom, btw, if i want to go back to stock rom, I can just flash one of the ftf in the AIO provided right ?, or can i just unroot it and use Sony PC compaion to update it ?

If you have not unlocked the bootloader then repair using pc companion. This will put you on the latest firmware and kernel. Then root, install recovery and flash xperiment rom.
Or try flashing your .140 stock ftf and exclude everything except the kernel.

Root Guide For 4.2.2

All credit goes to @zhuhang. I have no contribution to it.
Original thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45344021
This method will help you gain root access on the latest .67 4.2.2 update that Sony recently pushed out.
Disclaimer:
- This requires a PC.
- No CWM needed.
- This installs a Chinese root manager rather than superuser or superSU. But I will teach you how to replace it below.
Instruction:
1. Download the rooting application. (This app can root many other devices )
VRoot_1.6.0.3690
http://www.mediafire.com/download/v3...3690_Setup.exe
2. Install the app. This is a Chinese app so I will guide you. Below is a step by step screenshot attached guide.
3. Start VROOT and root now!
4. Now we need to install SuperSU from play store to replace the Chinese root manager called 授权管理 1.0.4.
5. Go to play store and install SuperSU.
6. Start SuperSU and you will be asked for permission by 授权管理 1.0.4, choose 允许(means allow). (Should be the right side option.)
7. SuperSU will prompt to install SU binary, go ahead with OK and it will display successful.
8. Now, freeze 授权管理 1.0.4 in titanium backup, just in case you need it again.
Note: If you uninstall straight away from app manager, you need to make sure SuperSU updated the binary.
9. Re-run SuperSU to make sure everything is alright. You will be prompt again to install SU binary, just do what it asked.
10. After that, you are rooted with SuperSU and 授权管理 1.0.4 will not be there anymore.

Tried with the C5503 kernel. Same boot loop. I think we'll have to find an alternate root method, as unlike the Z, the ZR doesnt have .234 firmware [that is also 4.2]
Experimenting with the Z firmware. Wish me luck
Why not flash only kernel from the previous firmware? Isn't working?
UPD. I see - not work

Firstly you need to unlock your bootloader. Google that, its easy. OR you can do it through flashtools (not tested).
Enable USB Debugging and unknown sources option on your phone before proceeding.
Download Flashtool, Open it. Flash the the kernel of an old firmware of Xperia ZR which was rootable.
Reboot your Xperia ZR after flashing. Connect to PC in USB Debugging mode.
Do not forget to close FLASHTOOL.
Extract the downloaded “DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v18_perf-event-exploit.zip” file and run the “runme_win” file.
Follow onscreen instructions to root Xperia ZR and once it is rooted, device will reboot. Verify that you are rooted, run SuperSU app.
Now switch off your Xperia ZR. OPEN FLASHTOOL.
Now you need to flash the true kernel of Android 4.2.2 10.3.1.A.0.244 firmware of Xperia ZR.
After flashing, disconnect the phone from PC, reboot it and your Xperia ZR is now rooted

So basically you're doing:
Use FlashTool to flash the 4.2.2 FTF
Downgrade the kernel by using FlashTool back to 4.1.2
Run the DoomLord rooting kit
Flash back 4.2.2 kernel using FlashTool
To flash the kernel you need an unlocked bootloader. What I don't understand is how to flash the kernel only? I found the kernel.sin inside the FTF file. Can I just delete other .sin file and flash the remaining FTF file?
Sorry if my questions are noob.

You need to keep the kernel.sin and bootloader.sin in the ftf and delete the rest. Also don't delete the META-INF file.

The problem is the bootloader? I thought doom's thread said that this was for locked and unlocked bootloader. Unlocking the bootloader will lead to a lot of people avoiding the root method.

Yes. I fixed the bootloop issue. Need any help with the bootloop?
If you've got a bootloop, pull the battery asap as once it dies, you won't be able to flash ftf and the device will be bricked.
To fix bootloop [and still not get root access]
1. Open the 4.2.2 ftf file in flashtool.
2. Exclude everything [tick in the exclude box] except the kernel, and untick everything in the wipe box [data, applog]
3. Flash the kernel by pressing the volume down button while plugging in USB cable [DONT PRESS POWER BUTTON AFTER BATTERY PULL AS OTHERWISE YOU'LL GO BACK INTO BOOTLOOP]
4. After it flashes [should take a couple of seconds], reboot and you should be back to normal
I REPEAT PULL THE BATTERY IF IN A BOOTLOOP OR YOU'LL LAND UP WITH ANOTHER PAPERWEIGHT

So again you're not successful in rooting 4.2.2 using the kernel switching method?
i think the kernel switching fix will not work on ZR.. we don't have a rootable 4.2 kernel
i think the 423 kernel is 4.2

Just follow the instructions.
You will need your phone to have at least 50% battery level. Take out the battery, insert again, and connect your phone to your PC via USB while pressing the Volume + button. You will hear a sound coming from your PC meaning it's been connected.
Sony PC Companion then will flash your phone with the latest firmware. It takes a while and you need to have internet connection, but it works.
As you flashed the Russian system rom, the firmware installed in your phone by Sony PC companion will be the Russian Android 4.2.2. No problem with this as it includes all the languages.
Do this as soon as possible as you need your battery charged and you can't charge the battery in your phone while in the bootloop state.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure what we did wrong to be stuck in a bootloop, but after my ZR being reflashed by Sony PC Companion I just flashed the Nordic 4.2.2 ROM and my phone remains unrooted until there is a easier method to get root

I am trying to get 4.2.2, but after flashing the system rom on step 4, I got into a boot loop. I can't seem to use flashtool to recover, Please help! I can't even get to recovery
EDIT: Now I am going somewhere I think, but I don't know if this is serious, I get this from flashmode now
ERROR - Error in processHeader : 1 : Incorrect function.
ERROR - Error flashing. Aborted
EDIT: I think I bricked my device =(

In fact you should read the other thread for a workable root method for 4.2.2. This thread is very old and AFAIK this method doesn't work.

Newer nAa kernel have "idiot proof" feature that boots into CWM if there isn't any supported ROM installed.
But the problem in this thread is already resolved, isn't it?

1) download this ftf https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B986eZvi0Z2KZWxQLXhIMmJnWW8/edit ( thanks to @CorePrideX8 )
2) download the flashtool from here http://www.flashtool.net/download.php or https://unrestrict.li/flashtool
3) install the flashtool and navigate to the folder where flashtool was installed
3)open "drivers" folder and install the first 2(flashmode and fastboot)
4)transfer the downloaded ftf to the folder "firmwares"
5)open flashtool and press the thunder button..then choose flashmode
6)you will see the firmware on the left, choose it and press the flash button..wait until a message pop up saying to connect your phone
7)turn the phone off and while pressing the volume down button connect the usb(the illumination bar will light green)
I think your phone will reboot without flashing the firmware because your pc will install the drivers..in order to install it repeat the step 7
Hope it helps..
Im also looking to downgrade my phone from 4.3 to 4.1, I have the FTF and i'm ready to do it, but i was wondering what people recommend for backing up messages and call logs without root? (locked bootloader - can be unlocked but want bravia engine!)
Before updating to 4.3, i took a backup of my apps, call logs, messages...everything in the Sony PC Companion - Backup and Restore program, but once I had updated to 4.3, the backup would not restore properly and apps wouldn't reinstall, is this because of the change in android version? I came from Generic UK .254 for my C5303 and i used the C5303 Central European 1 .266 to upgrade. Im hoping that once i flash the original .254 ftf, the backup will restore properly right?
I just dont want to lose any text messages or call logs, helps me keep track of myself

yes, it's the different android version..you will be able to restore with 4.1..next time use titanium backup to backup apps and its data, sms, wifi, call log, bookmarks.
unhappy with 4.3
do i need to be rooted/unlocked bootloader to do the above method?
No, you just need flashtool and the FTF file of 4.1 for your region, I have my Generic UK .254 FTF uploading to google drive now, ill post the link once its uploaded.

i am not sure bro, i do not own the Xperia T neither did i try those roms. i only translated the steps to english for you.
could be a few possibilities for such problems
what did you try to delete? if it's apps , why don't u try using uninstaller app to uninstall instead of the usual way using a root browser
did you do anything out of the norm when flashing the ROM, recovery, SU update in recovery AND their kernelonly FTF using flashtool (in flashmode)?
thru out the whole process from flashing ROM till flashing kernelonly FTF, your phone should not be allowed to be booted/start up at all
perhaps you should tried re-doing the whole process and as follow -
1) revert to previous version
2) perform factory reset, including internal storage
3) root & install recovery from computer ( preferred recovery according to the site : XT-lockeddualrecovery2.7.91.installer.zip , or lastest)
4) boot up your phone, check everything is in order and ok, do not even update anything when prompted
5) enter recovery, in successive manner without rebooting your phone thru out,
flash rom
flash XT-lockeddualrecover flashable zip
flash update-supersu
6) after flashing is done, switch off your phone by taking out the battery
7) reinsert battery and DO NOT START your phone
8) place the kernelonly FTF in your flashtool\firmware folder
9) start flashtool, do not change any option and flash the kernelonly FTF to your phone
then you'll be done. Actually i do not see any reason why it'll give any problems unless the ROM or kernelonly FTF is not properly built or corrupted during download
alternatively, if it still gives problem, you can try flashing your own FTF file instead of their kernelonly FTF.
If you flash your own 9.2.A.1.199 FTF, just exclude "system"
disclaimer: i could be wrong

then you'll be done.

Yup, according to the original thread OP.
The ROM downloaded from their thread is supposed to be rooted, deodexed & include philz touch recovery(not stated which version though)

which phone have you got ? and your 4.3 dont have remount reboot problem ?
Anyone tried this guide?? but changing or replace the recovery XT-lockeddualrecovery with PhilZ Touch CWM Advanced Edition??......
So like this (For BL) :
Dowload :
1. TX LT29i 4.3 199 deodex USA ROMflash01S.zip
2. XT-lockeddualrecovery2.7.94-BETA.flashable.zip (Replaced to [RECOVERY][T,TL,TX,V][LB]PhilZ Touch CWM Advanced Edition) on this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2657190
3. UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.93.zip
4. LT29i_9.2.A.1.199_USA kernelonly.ftf
Then :
1. coming from 4.1.2 JB ROM, Rooted + CWM for NW v8 or v7 is installed
2. flash ROM in recovery - DO NOT reboot
3. [RECOVERY][T,TL,TX,V][LB]PhilZ Touch CWM Advanced Edition - DO NOT reboot
4. flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.9X.zip - DO NOT reboot
5. turn off phone (by taking out battery)
6. flash kernelonly.ftf with flashtool
And it's work or doesn't work???....
because I prefer "PhilZ Touch CWM Advanced Edition" than XT-lockeddualrecovery ,
