Other note 4 roms on tmobile note - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to install the other roms like it was possible on the note 2?
Tmobile Note 2 can install n7105 roms
Can the note 4 do the same?

curious also
I would also like to know this. I use a straight talk att sim card, so I have no need for the tmobile wifi calling.

The good ol'Note 2... those were the days...
But I believe the only phone roms that where interchangeable were from att and tmobile. And att might be locked down this time around.

This is NOT something that I would do. There is the real possibility that you could brick your phone. I would advise sticking to ROMS designated for your particular variant of the Note 4.

That's true but my question was if it was possible like it was on the Note 2

Yes, but not advised.

Us note roms

When roms come out for the att and verizon versions would they possibly work on our notes?
Don't flame if dumb question, just don't know
From the giant: Galaxy Note
Good question. I want to know the reverse because ATT is going to make us wait an extra 6 months for ICS.

No, the ROMs posted here in the International Note sections won't work on the AT&T version. There will be a separate section for the AT&T version, hopefully as soon as they release it.

T-mo or AT&T galaxy note 3 - AOSP Roms?

Just got the note 3 from att and am reading in XDA that there currently no way to root from 4.4.2 and to top it off the only Roms that are available on 4.3 appear to be themed versions that appear to be stock Google but actually are not. This I'd based on the all in one thread I just read.
Taking a cursory look at t-mobile and their note 3 doesn't appear to have this bootloader hindrance/handicap unless I'm mistaken. I'm willing to sell my new note 3 to get a better more compliant phone but want to make sure of the information before making that drastic jump. I'm not wanting to wait to use rooms such as paranoid Android or pacrom. Am I correct in my assumption so far that t-Mobile had the more ROM and mod friendly version of the Note 3? XDA developers are always right from what I've found. This is my fifth phone in two years and I want to do it right without regrets.

You won't be flashing any AOSP ROMs on the AT&T Note 3 in the foreseeable future. If the phone is on 4.4.2 you can't even root it. I love the N3 (AT&T) and I love the community here. I just love freedom when it comes to my smartphone. When the opportunity arises and my wallet says "cool" I'm definitely bouncing to a nexus or gpe device. My apologies for being a little frustrated right now.

Yes... The TMobile version is flashable, rootable, etc... I sold my att n3 and bought the TMobile version for the same reason!
Swiftkeyed from my SM-N900T on AT&T
My sympathy to you for not doing some research first, as I didn't either. I do love this phone, but if I had to do over again, there's no way I'd choose it again on AT&T.

[Q] State of the Note Question

Hi All- I had a Note 4 for a few days back when they first came out, returned because of all the bloat between Samsung and ATT. Looking for an Android device now, but have a question. Has the state of the Note 4, for either ATT or T-Mobile changed to the point where I can solve my phone bloat problems? Through rooting, or some other technique (iPhone user learning the ropes here), can I address all the apps and Touchwiz stuff I don't like?
You can totally do that stuff on the tmobile version.
This is how you would get started:

The att note 4 is trickier because of the locked bootloader.

Ok, so the T-Mobile version is definitely more in line with my expectations of my device.
Do I lose anything important with the T-Mobile version? Does it play just as well with att given that they are both GSM? Would T-Mobile just sell me a device outright?
Here's the centralized thread on that:

You can search for att in this forum and find threads on that, as well.
In the att note 4 forum you can search for t-mobile and find more threads, as well.
Yes I'm using a t-mobile Note 4 on AT&T right now. Working great.

unlocked TMO note 8 on Sprint

I'm thinking about moving my services from T Mobile to Sprint. I currently have two unlocked T Mobile branded Note 8 devices.
Question is, will it work or not ?
I read somewhere that it won't work.

T-MOBILE USERS with International Galaxy Note 8 (SM-N950F or SM-N950F/DS)

My note 4 got broken and I am considering an either a Note 8 (or Note 9) to upgrade too. My dilemma is between having a fully unlocked boot-loader (I like custom roms etc) and all the customization that affords VS the US Notes that are boot-loader locked and have limited ROM support (if they even do) BUT have Zero Issues with Carrier aggregation.
So my question is...to those of you that have the international versions that don't do proper carrier Aggregation (yes I read the 50+ page thread and a few other threads as well)...and may have limited speeds and not stay connected as well in fringe areas as the US version....if you had it to do again would you buy the international one again for the modding ability or is/was the trade off of the carrier aggregation too problematic?
I haven't had too many issues. I'll drop signal in a few areas I've noticed, but outside of the main places I go not very often. Granted I don't get out much. The only real complaint I have is RMM stuff. The first zip I tried didn't work. So I had to wait an extra week to try again. I'm worried the same zip won't work on pie so I haven't updated yet. I do again in a heartbeat though. Can't stand having a stock device.

I did. Didn't use the same zip from the root guide here though. I believe it was from one of the threads it linked too, but I'm not sure it'll work on pie. The first one I tried that locked me out for a week was the one in the guide though.

i just committed myself to a SM-950F which I'm also gonna use on T-Mobile. Just curious if you have had any issues or anything related you want to share. Haven't had any luck to get responses on the subject. Thx!

No issues other than a occasionally bad signal. And of course the rmm stuff mentioned earlier. Upgraded to pie and luckily the same zip worked to remove it. Had to re work some of my magisk module though. Honestly have no complaints. Except that I just wanna upgrade to the Note 20. Not that the 8 is bad. I just like to attempt to keep up. ?

Thank you for replying. Oh I would love to have the 20 in my hand but I dont want to pay so much for a phone even in payments. I haven't got to the point of reading about the RMM issue and to be honest I have no idea what that is. I was hoping you could clarify please. Also, Im planning to flash DeluxeROM v27 eventually so other than the usual steps, is there something else I need to flash separately besides the ROM so it works well on T-Mobile. Thank you much for your help!
