As the question says, can sailfishOS be ported to the p7?
I really like the button less front design of the phone. the virtual toolbar on the phone works ok but it looks like a sore thumb sticking out of a machined surface (It looks odd).
hide vitrual keys install allin one gestures from ps and use gestures I use 12 spots over ui but only use 3 ( right mid mid-up mid-down) it's genius...
as for sailfish os cm11 is needed... but we still do have one...

¿Is there any solution for capacitive buttons in custom ROMs?
With LGD panel under MIUI 8.3 (Android 7.0) works perfectly but no way in Lineage ROMs.
will it work with aosp roms?
mine works on miui(8.2) as well as LOS 4/4/17
You could try to flash another kernel.
But probably you have to wait that Xiaomi releases the updated sources.
As was mentioned to me, the firmware pack isn't included in lineage ROMs for mi5 anymore so have to be updated separately; https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71962673&postcount=24
I was in the same situation with the buttons being useless under lineage (lgd also) but since firmware pack 7.4.11 ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/development/tool-flashable-firmware-twrp-easy-t3474898 ) they've been working really well, almost perfect.
If they don't work well for you, I previously found a workaround in installing "All in one Gestures" https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...os.aiogestures
I've got it configured such that swipes in the bottom left and bottom right corners of the screen match the capacitive button actions.
Hello~
Recently I have updated mu Huawei P9 (EVA-L09) to Android 7, EMUI 5 (5.0.1) and if there is one thing I don't like about it, it's the recent apps view.
Previously on EMUI 4 it was nice grid-like which was scrolling from left to right nad to throw out app I had to swing up.
Now they screwed it up and made it like a stack which must be scrolled up-down and left-right swing closes the app.
Is there any way to change it to more grid-like like in EMUI 4?
I have access to TWRP, Magisk, root so no holding back here.
I have tried adding custom prop by Magisk
Code:
ro.recents.grid=true
but that didn't do the trick so far.
Any help will be welcome.
Thank you for advance and have a nice day.

Hello XDA! ITs been a while.....
So I just took the plunge/risk and just bought a Zenfone 5 from Eglobalcentraluk.com (I'm uk based).
I know the reviews aren't great for the supplier, but they have a deal on for £250 for the Zenfone 5 (not the Z), which is too much to resist and I used PayPal.
I really love the look of this phone BUT I hate the look of those clunky custom soft keys.
Does anyone know if there's a way to change them to the cleaner stock Android keys (Triangle, Square, Circle) ?
Failing that, is there a way to remove the soft keys all together and use gestures only? (I've checked reviews but not found any mention of this in Zenui)
Cheers,
B
Answer to your last part.
I have 5z and I have been using xda's homebrewed app Navigation Gestures from Google play store. This would work for zenui on ZenFone 5. Though programme requires adb permissions.

Thanks Clavicle.
Yes, it looks like gesture control is the way to go. I've been testing gesture apps on my current phone, my Zenfone 5 has been 'preparing for dispatch' for three days now at Eglobalcentral )
I found 'X home bar' to be the nicest design and most customizable.
So I assume the buttons can at least be hidden as part of Zenui which is a bonus.
I've got an experimental mod based on notch killer for Android 11.
Portrait remains with clock etc after camera notch but landscape is full width.
I have a oneplus 8 pro but just recently tried to make this mod based on pixel code.
Need a tester before making this public
Here's a link to git and the range explains what I do. https://github.com/logmd/N3O-No-Nonsense-Notch-Overlay
So question is does anyone want to help out and test? I'll send a group of yous a build if you are up for it
Sure, I'll test it out. Having some apps not go full screen in landscape bothers me, so I'm more than happy to help.
Don't get me started haha! The notch on my oneplus 8 in landscape black bar is larger than the giant forehead on my old mate20 pro when I get to a laptop tonight I'll start a piexl 5 chat
Hello, I have a poco m3 pro running miui 12.0.10 global + default POCO launcher, not rooted.
Left & right swipe gesture active areas seem too narrow for me, I find myself having to use the tip of my finger in order for it to register, otherwise it won't swipe. I thought it was the case so I ordered another one but same issue. Anyway to widen the area a bit so I don't have to try 3 or 4 times for it to register? I removed the applied screen protector but nothing changed.
This is the case I have. I tried fluid gesture app and that gave me an option to widen the active side areas and made it much better, but I'd like to use the default app. I've never had this issue with my older phones (pixel 3A XL, 4a 5G).
maybe is a firmware issue... with older version same problem?
I ended up installing FNG and increase the left and right active areas and have it running with MIUI gestures. Stupid MIUI.
