i know the question is too idiotic so I'm sorry
now i have a serious problem with my phone, neither WiFi nor Bluetooth would turn on and installing any other ROM via recovery always soft bricks the phone for some reason and i have to restore
I'm currently on novafusion's carbon ROM build 27/10/14 and Baseband I8190XXANI4
i figured maybe flashing stock by odin might solve the problem (if you know another solution please provide)
so on sammobile.com do i just choose the latest firmware there is for the s3 mini or does it have to be the same baseband or sth ? (my country is not listed)
thanks
Hi,
1. Install latest twrp from novafusion by odin.
2. Dl by your phone custom rom and gapps to sd card.
3. Then do full backup your system by twrp on sd card.
4. Go to Wipe in twrp and thick all option WITHOUT External Card and move slider to erase everything.
5. Back to main window, thick Install, change destination to external card and choose file with rom, slide to install. After it, clean cache and dalvik, then reboot and wait.
6. After first configuration, go to recovery and install gapps at least, reboot and thats all.

Hey Guys,
I have this problem where i cant seem to flash to any new roms in CWM with the new roms in zip files on my SD card.
I have tried flashing to new kernels but it doesn't seem to change anything.
The last rom i flashed was Criskelo v7 and i haven't changed because i cant every time i try to flash something new in CWM it seems like it only just starts to do it then freezes and i leave it because it might be working and it always end up rebooting and then i find I'm back on Criskelo v7 as if its a fresh install and it need my google account / full setup as if its new but no new rom.
I have also tried updating CWM with odin it works to update odin but it still cant flash any new roms.
Am i doing something wrong? please if anyone has any idea let me know.
Sorry if this has been covered but i really did try and find similar problems.
Thanks
What does the screen read? Error 7?

Flash ANy ROMS
Dr_Rag
if you want to flash any roms using cwm,
1. Flash Safe kernels like Hydracore (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749863) or Philz Kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270).
2. Reboot in recovery
3. Do all 3 wipes (wipe data, wipe cache partition & wipe dalvik cache)
4. Flash romzip
5. Reboot
If you want to flash XXLS7 TW JB Dump Based Roms , then
1. Flash Safe kernels like Hydracore (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749863) or Philz Kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270).
2. Reboot in recovery
3. Do all 3 wipes (wipe data, wipe cache partition & wipe dalvik cache)
4. Format /system & /preload in mount and storage
5. Flash romzip
6. Reboot
BTW what rom you are going to install
I had a similar issue and it was a root issue.
To see if it is the same for you, if you have SuperSU, open it, and press 'Continue' if prompted to update binary. If this fails, your problem is root related, the solution of which is below. Unfortunately I don't know how else to test if you don't have SuperSU or if the update prompt doesn't appear.
Below is how I fixed the problem. It may not work for you, and if it doesn't, it's not my fault.
Also note this method will fix the issue no matter what caused it, and wipes data, so backup what you need. It also assumes your ROM is flashable.
1 Put your ROM anywhere in /storage/sdcard0 on your phone.
2 Go to hotfile.com/dl/155490069/c7932d4/N7000XXLPY_N7000OXALPY_DBT.zip.html on your computer to download N7000XXLPY_N7000OXALPY_DBT.
4 Extract this to produce N7000XXLPY_N7000OXALPY_N7000XXLPT_HOME.tar.md5.
5 Flash this through Odin.
6 After your phone reboots (you can't get into the actual OS so you must do this in the Samsung boot animation), enter recovery.
7 Wipe data and cache.
8 Enter download mode.
9 Go to puu.sh/1q5mJ to download GL_NOTECORE_HYDRACORE_v4-3b_STD.tar.
10 Flash this through Odin.
11 After your phone reboots (you don't need to wait to get into the actual OS - you can do it in the Samsung boot animation), enter recovery.
12 Flash your ROM.
Im a total novice when it comes to rooting. i did manage to root my N7000, but after a few hours my phone became quite muggy...i rebooted it and on reboot it said "upgrading".
Since then it has been unusable, i did the volume up/home/power button and tried a wipe data....phone still wont respond well. keyboard doesn't work, cant get a signal, and its generally so groggy, its pretty much unusable. i managed a factory reset with phone switched on, still no better.
any help would be massively appriciated
Adam:crying:
Relax mate! Am guessing a simple flashing of the stock firmware will solve ur issue.

Please use CM .. and any of its mod its smooth and safe with less bugs in it .. first publish all these information and i may be able to tell you how exactly you can proceed.

Ok ..
First of all if you have properly rooted your android device with (clockwordmod recovery) or any other recoveries etc you need to have a Rom to flash it through this recovery
It is recommend that you must have safe kernel before flashing any ROM. Please download any of CM10.1 ROM from the link below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789397
Now Get the ROM for your appropriate device from the link below. Select the device and download the ROM. Use any Stable or Nightly version.
http://www.cyanogenmod.org/
Next thing you need to download Google Apps package called GAPPS. Its latest version corresponding to CM10.1 android version 4.2.2 is on the top of the screen. (20130301) using link below
http://goo.im/gapps
Put all the files to micro SD Card. Since your operating system is not working so you may have to take out SD card and put these downloaded zip files to SD card using jacket or your laptop SD card slot.
Now Switch ON your android device to Recovery Mode by Holding Volume Up+ Power and Home Button together
Do following:-
Wipe data/Factory reset.
Wipe Cache.
Wipe Delvik Cache in Advanced Options ..
Fix permissions.
then go to your SD card and flash all these files in order
Flash the Kernel first and after flashing Reboot Your Recovery.
Now Flash
1. CM 10.1
2. GAPPS
Reboot .. n enjoy your new rooted phone
If you still face difficulty let me know ..

P.S
Although i haven't reached the 'recovery mode' part yet, i can tell you that the only options are:
reboot system now
apply update for external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
the delvik cache & fix permissions are not options
Adam
Here ur options
Two options with you
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
Download clockword mod recovery from here.
Again I recommend using Chasmado Kernel and it will automatically install safe recovery files. TWRC or CMD Recovery

What should I do to downgrade from CM 10.1 to 2.3.6? Because last time I bricked my phone... How to downgrade?
I'm assuming you haven't made a backup while you were on stock , find a firmware from your country/carrier on samfirmware and flash it via odin on PDA collumn.
Be careful about the version of firmware you get from samfirmware, make sure it fits your phone ( if you have 6500d(without nfc) be sure to get a 6500d firmware and vice versa for 6500)
And one more thing, do not interrupt the flashing process , might brick your phone..
Good luck !
Edit: From what I see on your profile you are from Bulgaria and have M-tel as a carrier, i think this is the firmware you are looking for
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/182233319/b311220/S6500DXXLD2_S6500DMTLLD2_MTL.zip.html
dont forget to wipe all (data, system, cache, dalvik) before flashing to stock to avoid bootloop or else after flash stock, flash CWM and do the wipe

Hey all, i'm upping this thread cause i need some more information.
I'm going back to Stock ROM too, i understood almost all the process, but i'm quite noob with those things so i got 3 questions:
1. How to do a full backup (in case i want to go back to CM 10.1 with all the installed apps on).
2. How to completely clear my phone, i don't want to leave any app/setting/trace on the SD, i want it back as when i bought it.
3. How to be sure of my firmware version? If i look to the "Informations" in "Settings" it says : S6500XXLK2, so i suppose is GT-S6500 without any letter, right?
Thx for any help!

I am really new, but the following has worked for me 3 or 4 times:
Assume you are running the stock ROM that was installed at the factory.
Install a late version of CWM. I have cwm-6.0.3.3-b2-jena.tar.md5.
Install Online Nandroid Backup and do a full Nandroid backup with this tool to the external SD card.
Save this to a hard drive just in case.
Do a full backup of your internal SD and your external SD. Nandroid backup does not
do these.
Then do the whole install procedure for CM 10.1 or whatever.
To go back to 2.3.6, reboot into CM recovery. Do all the wipes: data/factory,cache,dalvik.
Choose restore. Choose restore from sd. This will be external SD. Choose the folder
where the nandroid backup was made. Then wait till done, then reboot. None of this touches
the sd cards, which kind of bothers me. But in practice, people seem not to worry too much.
One thing you could do is format your SD cards and then restore hand-made backups of
your SD cards. I did not bother with this yet. But I never ran CM 10.1 for very long or touched
the SD card very much. Anyway, when I restore my stock ROM this way, I seem to go back
exactly to the state I was in before installing CM 10.1.

Yep, i forgot to say one thing that is in common with the OP: I haven't got a "Stock ROM backup"...i just installed CM 10.1 without making a backup...i know, my fault!
The procedure for backing up CM 10.1 is the same as for backing up factory ROM.
Use Online Nandroid backup. I went from factory ROM to CM 10.1 by restoring a
backup from Online Nandroid.

6500D bootloap no recover after flashing stuck down from cygen mod 10
I had [ROM] [4.1.2 JB] Ultimate and today I decided to go back to stock rom N7000XXLT4 N7000OXALT4 - Germany via Odin. Everything was fine and the phone worked one hour. then appears on the screen galaxy logo. I did not know what to do so I decided to turn Odin do the same thing. and after that we will appear on the screen "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery in Kies & try again"
What do I do now?
1. Go into stock or cwm recovery, depending on which one is present on your phone.
2. Flash the latest PhilZ kernel for your rom.
3. Get the latest Ultimate JB rom based on LT4 or any other TW based near stock rom that comes as a flashable zip file.
4. Go into CWM recovery, format preload, data, system, cache, dalvik cache.
5. Flash the rom and your good to go.
By the way, it sounds as you haven't got access to your phones storage through your pc. Take the sd card out and use a card reader to transfer the PhilZ kernel and the rom onto your sd card.

He means that you can flash whatever custom rom in xda galaxy ace (5830) forums!!, so if you want it, download the rom (e.g. SII rom by Spacecaker), do the 3 wipes (data, cache and dalvik-cache) and then flash the custom rom you'll get a new firmware with SIII/IV caracteristics
