[Q] Baseband question. - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all!
I've owned a S3 Mini for a while and I've installed a lot of custom ROMs...
I just read about Baseband and from what I understood is that is regional so my question is if I have an i8190L can I flash a i8190 baseband?
and if right now I have CM 10.2 from maclaw with I8190LUBAND1 can I flash I8190LUBANE2? Or how can I have the latest baseband?
P.S Thank you and sorry for my english.

It has to be an i8190L baseband. It can't be an i8190 or i8190N.
Any i8190L would be OK. You might find that you have to reboot the phone a couple of times before it shows up in 'about phone'.

The baseband no depend from the ROM that you use (only if the ROM support all I8190 models), it depend of the caracteristic model (N or L or other(s))
About ROM compatibility, it depend that RIL files compatibility and others files compatibility (about NFC features for exemple (for N version)).

Is that a brand new fone? Did u get it from samsung store?
I have the same phone as yours with Rafael.Baugis latest kernel and RazoDroiD custom rom.
It's S5830M same as the "I" one.
Don't try to flash S5830i Phone file otherwise you will get no service.

can u send me the link I have to install new rom I don't care guarantee as long as its work
Just go to S5830i development section and choose which custom rom meets your needs.Remember do not flash GT-S5830 custom roms because they'll brick your phone.

Are you 105% sure about that? Like many others, the phone came from a skroutz store, and it was the Swedish. Of course there is no difference with the only exception of the Tele2+ bloatware that can be easily removed. But the battery and response is not the same as with 4.1.2... On the other hand I need you to be absolutely sure, as I don't need a 560 euros brick
Any I9305 ROM will work on any I9305. The letter at the end is irrelevant

Yep, just not any radio, that one is region-specific (on the I9305).

[HELP]NEED modemfs backup and /lib/tee files (TGY)

As title
I want to try that I9070's baseband can use in I8160 or not.
Because I8160 BRI/TGY still can't update to 4.1.2
I tried to flash CM10.2 and it can work but no signal
So I think if I9070' baseband can use in I8160, maybe it will have signal...
I need I9070TGY's modemfs,efs backup and /lib/tee files
It is better if I can obtain 2.3.6 and 4.1.2 's modemfs
Thanks !

Sorry for my poor English

Download I8160 from other country and flash it with Odin. But first check at your forum is it safe. Because if we flash I9070 on I9070P or I9070P on I9070 it cause HARDBRICK.
P.S. You already have CM10.1 for your phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2452315
Baseband from I9070 will not work, I am 99% sure.

If I flash official 4.1.2 from another region ,my phone will got baseband unknown and IMEI will disappear
Alright, keep use gingerbread until Samsung update I8160BRI to 4.1.2 or I buy any new phone.....

More useful info, like which rom? did you flashed any baseband? I8190, N or L? etc.
EDITED: try this, it will probably solve your problem. Have a nice day.

[Q] If update official update from different country will baseband change?

Hello guys, i will explain the story in order, sorry for my bad Grammar.
first i have the official GTI9070 but i forgot the baseband (GB)
then i accept software update that appear in notification bar, my baseband become I9070DXLK2 (GB)
and i see there's CM11 out that can make kit kat running in I9070.
but it requires root to install CMW / TWRP..
so hard to find root zip for DXLK2, and then i found one full ROM rooted then flash it with odin.
my baseband still I9070 (GB) but rooted (binary counter++)
after that i flash TWRP with odin too.
then i try flashing CM11 with TWRP.
it success, but no mobile network.
i search at this forum and someone say "no mobile network happen because flashing from GB (2.3.x) directly to KK (4.4.x)"
he said first update from GB to official samsung JB.
the problem, there's no official samsung JB update for my country/region (DXLK2)
my question, if i flash the official samsung JB update from other region.. let say it italy.. will my baseband change?
if it changed, what's the problem and whats the negative impact? what should i do better?
thx in advance.
PS: my device is Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070 (Indonesian)

You don't have any negative impact if you flash any stock JB firmware, only with your warranty if you still have one.
Please, follow this guide from point A (JELLYBEANIZATION): [GUIDE] From stock GB to Custom JB (Noob-friendly)
After you updgraded to JB, ask/read some tutorials linked here: [{INDEX of GUIDES/TUTORIALS}] Galaxy S Advance [GT-I9070].
Be sure when you proceed to do something OR ASK before, NOT AFTER you doing something wrong.

thank you for the response.
i'll tell the result later after i can download it, at my office the download link show 404 Not Found (maybe blocked)
Search JB on www.samsung-updates.com.

Or maybe removed. Try on samsung-updates.com or sammobile.com
In Canada, have XXLK2 (Africa?). Want JB, use UK version?
I bought my unlocked I9070 almost 2 years ago and am thinking about upgrading to Android 4.1.2 (JB).
On samsung-updates there appear to be lots of JB versions for different regions.
Can I just select the one for Britain (XXLQE)? Is there anything I need to check re: compatibility?

Yes you can flash any stock firmware for I9070. Be sure you don't flash firmware for I9070P.
Powered by CM11 M11 snapshot
Flashing worked...once I found a .zip file

I had a lot of trouble trying to get the samsung-updates.com download to work (used the free one, which either didn't start most of the time or died during download). Eventually, I took the filename (for Britain) and Googled it, and found a download site that let me download it (required 3 hours).
Armed with the .zip file and ODLIN, it worked like a charm. All my installed apps and data survived, which surprised me. I thought this would be a vanilla install.
