Hello,
I have an XDA II with WM6.1
I have come across a few problems with the camera,
I have found out that with WM6 you cannot record at 320 x 240, Options are :
PC - (240 x 180)
PC (186 x 96)
MMS (160 x 120)
MMS (176 x 144)
There is no 320 x 240, anyway to fix this? as XDA II is capable of recording video at that resolution, back when I had WM2003SE
Also after viewing playback after recording, the first 3 seconds of the video seem to be very jerky, at about 1 frame per second, then it begins to go faster.
I have noticed on WM6.1 recording and pictures seem more granier than on WM2003, I read on another thread someone desribing it as "ALL CRAP", but he did not have a XDA 2 like me.
Folks,
just noticed on PPCNow that the Xperia has a new ROM with VGA @ 30fps recording on the Qualcomm 7201A What are the chances we'll be able to port this to our TPro?? Or am I just building up flase hopes
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=451461
In the previous post, those drivers arent working properly and if the new drivers have vga @ 30fps then we need the drivers from the new rom to work
If they're really getting 30fps VGA on the 7201A, I don't see why we shouldn't be able to
The MSM7201A chipset limits video recordings to QVGA resolution (320 x 240 pixels) and up to 24 frames per second video, whereas the MSM7200A chipset supports VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) video recording at up to 30 frames per second.
In an effort to de-duplicate a lot of information, I have moved the bulk of it to the DSLR Controller website. This thread still remains the place to get support, discuss, and ask questions, though!
DSLR Controller was the first and remains the best app to fully control your Canon EOS DSLR from your Android device, through USB cable or Wi-Fi connection. No computer or laptop required, no root required, only a compatible mobile device, a compatible camera, and if connecting through USB, the right cable.
We strongly suggest you read up on the website ( http://dslrcontroller.com/ ) about what DSLR Controller can do, how it works, and how to use it, before purchasing. The website contains a wealth of information you should know before using.
Not all devices are compatible, especially if you want to use a USB connection. For a free app you can use to test compatibility, see the "Remote Release" app ( http://market.android.com/details?id=eu.chainfire.remoterelease ). If you need a refund, go to our website ( http://dslrcontroller.com/ ) and follow the instructions in the FAQ entry. We cannot process refunds through email.
Usage notes, feature lists, device compatibility lists, changelogs, FAQs, can all be found on our website: http://dslrcontroller.com/
Most questions should go to the support and discussion thread at XDA-Developers.com:

Supported Android devices:
If you are connecting using Wi-Fi, virtually all modern Android devices are supported (your camera needs Wi-Fi support, though). If you are connecting over USB, your device needs USB host support - most recent devices do. Please see the 'Devices' section on our website ( https://dslrcontroller.com/devices.php ) for further information.
If your camera only supports USB, you can modify a TL-MR3040 to provide a Wi-Fi connection ( http://dslrcontroller.com/guide-wifi_mr3040.php )

Thanks, so all those cameras will work? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Canon_EOS_DSLR_cameras
Some really nice updates in the beta! I have seen greater stability and manual mode is working much better!
For the first time, I have access to the AF button and can focus using those. That is a big step forward. I had it stop responding once, but after restarting, it worked great.
Question, not sure if this is a current limitation or if i am not doing something right. When I choose to magnify the image, it zooms in the rectangle box. Is there a way to move that box around the screen, like on the liveview of my camera when zooming?
didn't work
Hello,
I have Canon EOS D1000 and Notion Ink Adam running AdamComb 0.3 custom Honeycomb ROM. Software said that USB host mode not supported on my device, although it should be . Too bad, because I was very exited about this software Maybe my camera and device could be added to next update? And if I can be any help, I would be glad to do so.
I realy hope you make it work with nikon cameras, I have a nikon d60 so i would not get livewiev. but just to be able to remote triger would be nice plus reviewing the taken photo on the fly. right now the built in gallery in android works, it reconises the camera and shows me the pictures on it. But if i take a new shoot i have to exit out of the gallery to get it to show me the new photo.
Hello,
Got 10" Acer Iconia A500 tablet, Canon 50D. Could I connect my camera to an ordinary USB port this device has, and use your software?
Looks great, just what I have been looking for and I'll happily pay for it and test out on the Canon 450d but I can't find it on the market.
Edit: Ignore that I found it! Will test it out as soon as my USB Host cable arrives and report back.
super cool you guys made techcrunch http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Techcrunch/~3/GOsO-gx0eK0/
You continue to be one of my mobile developer heros!
Amazing!
I would love to have this, but I don't have a capable phone. Hopefully CM can gain the support and the Evo 3D can gain CM . I assume this will work on any EOS? If it works on the 550D I don't see why it wouldn't work on the 600D...
Saw it here...
http://cheesycam.com/control-dslr-with-usb-android/
this is great! Found it on Android Police I believe.
Is there a reason this beta is a paid app?
Also, do you think its possible to do something like this on a Nikon? I'm not asking you to do it (I mean, unless you wanted to), but just wondering if there's hope... my D80 may be too old for it anyway, but it'd be awesome either way.
Great work, congrats on this getting out to the public so quickly!
Is this only for cameras that support live view
I may be wrong but from the list of cameras supported so far, they are all new EOS models that have the live view feature. I suspect the application may not work with older EOS models. Has anyone got it to work with a 1D Mark2N?
Trying to understand Output Res vs Device Res and its relation to CPU/GPU load & heat
Hi folks,
I have more of a general question that can be applied to any android device in general, but I hope the mods leave it here in the N4 general section due to how active the community is here.
Basically, my question involves trying to understand several things. First, when you connect your device (say an N4 or anything else) to a TV and you choose 1080p output under settings.....you get a feed of 1080p as confirmed by say Source Info on your TV. However, if you choose something like Taiji Benchmark and check device info, you'll notice that the device resolution (say the N4) remains to be the 1280 x 728 resolution. That is, the resolution on the device is different from the output signal and indicates some sort of upscaling/signal conversion is involved but that the actual screen estate hasn't changed....so to speak.
This confusion arises because in PC terms, when you set 1080p resolution, the feed is 1080p and the screen estate is 1080p (assuming your monitor supports it).
So my question then becomes....if you assume that the device resolution is constant, 1280x768p on the N4, does the use of 1080 x 60p under settings result in substantially more CPU/GPU (and heat) load than choosing 1280 x 720p under settings? Because essentially, this is a simple upscaling from the device resolution to output resolution.
Similarly, let's assume that the N4 DEVICE resolution can be changed or lowered, forcefully from 1280x768 to say 720x480p. So if we hold constant the output resolution of 1080p, but change the device resolution, does the result in substantial CPU/GPU load differences as well?
Between the two scenarios, which one results in a bigger change in CPU/GPU load? The different output resolutions but constant device resolution, or different device resolutions but constant output resolution?
I'm essentially trying to understand if rendering is done at the device resolution level or if it's done at the output level. From a gaming perspective, I'm trying to determine whether highest graphical settings at a lower device resolution (e.g., 720 x 480p) but outputting at 1080p is easier on the CPU/GPU than 1280x768p outputting at 480p. And CAN the N4 device resolution be forced to change? Would this be controlled by the kernel or at the higher ROM-level?
Does this makes sense? Sorry if this is confusing. To give some context, when I used to play lots of PC games, I always preferred Highest settings at lower resolutions than low settings at higher resolutions because my rationale was that it was easier on the GPU since there were significantly fewer pixels to account for.
A final question, does changing the DPI of a device result in device resolution changes? Or is it simply making changes in the UI layout?
Thanks N4 community in advance for any insight you could provide on the matter.
I've looked the ov4688 datasheet on the new camera module htc put in my htc one to fix the purple issue.
http://www.ovt.com/download_document.php?type=sensor&sensorid=130
I've noticed it support:
- 2688x1520 @ 90fps
- 1920x1080 @ 120fps
- 1280x720 @ 180fps
- 672x380 @ 330fps
Does anyone know if exist a mod or an apk that can support these recording speeds?
Thank you
Also, you need to confirm if the Snapdragon 600 itself is capable of processing such data. Technically it should be, but i think the features should be added into the camera app, which is not done yet.
I asked this a long time ago, but nothing happened since.
