Does anyone know of any programs similar to Gravity Box for Android 5.0 that dont require Xposed? I would like to hide particular icons in the status bar and get rid of the carrier branding on the lock screen and other similar mods.
Thanks in advance.
You're posting a question in the wrong place.
Dang it. No wonder I'm not getting any answers.
Thanks!
To answer your question though, so far there aren't a ton of options for customization of Lollipop (save for the CM12 Theme Engine) and it's probably going to take awhile for development to kick in. Lollipop runs under ART runtime (as earlier versions of android ran under dalvik). ART makes themeing and customization more difficult, and Xposed can't run under ART. Hope that helped.

I'm looking to run Whatsapp and Android runtime, which means I need to be on 4.4.1 or later, eliminating all of the Sense based roms for now.
I would also like to be able to edit my Quick Settings menu (how dumb is it that Google shipped without being able to modify Quick Settings) to add a rotation lock button.
So far the only Odexed (to be ART compatible) rom I can find is SinLess, but it relies entirely on Xposed framework for its customizations and that's not compatible with ART.
Any good ideas? I'm just using Notification Toggles for now but I suspect I am missing a better option.
Any ROM recommendations? I'm hesitant to run CM since somehow the battery life sucks for me and I'm not a fan of the bugs.

htc uses a proprietary qualcomm optimized version of dalvik, this version of dalvik still is faster than art, so you won't see a performance gain by switching to art but will loose a lot of functionality...
I can't believe I didn't know about this before! This is cool.
I wonder why the Rom makers don't just integrate the Qualcomm Dalvik into their roms. It's downloadable on XDA as a flashable file.

It's not necessary as they are included by default in all sense roms
I'm still rocking KitKat 4.4.4 on my Moto X 1Gen because I prefer my Xposed modules over Lollipop. That being said, thanks to a combination of CM11 themes and some Xposed modules, I've given my phone a personalized near-Lollipop look. There are, however, a couple of things I need help with, if anyone is willing.
I'm using a theme called L Style White, which was included in a 2-in-1 theme apk called KitKat White, which has since been removed from the Play Store for having "KitKat" in its name. Since it's no longer available, I've cracked it open several times and made some adjustments and changes, for my own personal use. I have no intentions of sharing/uploading a mod of someone else's initial work on the Play Store. I just made it for myself. I've added a lot of Lollipop elements from other CM11 themes that I liked. But there are two things I can't figure out how to theme on my own, and I was hoping someone more skillful with creating themes would be willing to help me out.
The first thing is the Google "Ears" sound search widget. I'd like to theme it to have a white background and dark text (so it will be visible on the white background). This one seems simple enough, but I can't seem to work it out on my own. Hopefully someone here can.
The second thing is the Reboot dialog, or really any dialog, I guess. I want to remove the white line under the title. This seems to exist on pretty much all dialogs that use the native framework, not JUST the advanced reboot menu. As you can see, it's already themed somewhat in the LiquidSmooth 4.4.4 ROM I'm using. I'd just like to make it more Lollipop style by removing that line. (On holo-light dialog popups, it's a dark line instead). I'm fine with the colors and everything on this; just want to make it more Lollipop style in its overall look. I've included a screenshot of an app that uses the style I'm wanting. Again, I don't care about changing the colors, just the layout of the title and stuff.
So there. Sorry that was so long. Hopefully someone took the time to read it anyway. If I need to, I can share the apk of the theme I'm using, but I'd rather do so privately, since it wasn't my work to begin with. I really just need whatever files/resources/xmls I can drop into the appropriate folder in the 'Overlays' section of the theme apk. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and would also help me learn more by example.
I am LOVING having my T-Mobile LG G4 Unlocked, Rooted and Tweaked up. The only thing I'm looking for next is to have the StatusBar Clock Centered if someone is capable of making that happen. Aside from that and maybe the ability to get the LockScreen Shortcut Apps to use an Icon Theme (Pack) and perhaps replacing the Stock Dialer *fully*... this thing is good to go!
Flash Xposed and use Gravity Box.
I was under the impression that Xposed was a no go on 5.1 Android. Has that changed?

It has. The unofficial Xposed version 71 for 5.1 works on the G4 as of today.
Well damn that was fast. Nice! Thank you so much for the heads up!
Looks pretty good to me.
I've got it installed, GravityBox up and running, only messed with the StatusBar Tweaks I wanted: Day, MM/dd, CenterClock & CircleBattery with % (Might use Stock Battery with % if that works)... Thanks again SOOOOOO much cajun! Simply outstanding!!
I've spent much free times of testing all free available versions of Android and have found out best performance, batery life and response have "old" Kitkat. Besides that I can run older games which aren't compatible with LP or MM (however I can't play Titan Quest...I can live with that). But the only thing I realy don't like is notification area, quick toggles and system of notification generaly. Gravitybox can add heads up notifications (it isn't the same as on LP or newer, but at least something like that). I've installed MonsterUI which makes some thing to look like LP, but not SystemUI (even it says it mods this). I've found some instructions here on xda how to mod systemui.apk to achieve this, but it's really long and time consuming process. Tried this someone already? Or is there some Xposed module to make that? Or another way? Thank you.
no need to bother yourself with skins etc. Lollipop is close enough (in battery performance).
[REQUEST] XPOSED module that changes the navbar keys color according the color of Status bar.
This feature (“Linked navbar icons with status bar background") is available in Flat Style Colored Bars xposed module, but this module is messing with other modules and the module itself is buggy. Tried to contact the developer but of no use.
For Android 5.1 Stock ROM
Please move it if not in correct section
perfectcolorbar
Flat Style Colored Bars isn't buggy, just use version 2.0.1 instead of the latest version. I never had any issue with this module on six different devices of six different OEM's.

Tried the said version... Nothing changed...
The module is buggy and affects performance and ui elements
And on top of that dev support is worse.... Wrote to the dev but of no use...

Then it is an issue with your device.
And dev support was always great, the dev is currently busy with real life stuff.

I found it buggy thats why I called it buggy. Period.
And I found dev support to worse.
By the way why are you advocating the dev?
I am not interested in buggy module, I asked for an alternate working module, if you know let me know otherwise move on... Simple...
