I think your best chance is to get it fixed from a Sony service center.

How much will it cost? I would rather buy a new phone if it costs too much

It shouldn't cost that much, I believe. You could *try* giving it under warranty (if it is still valid), because a friend of mine dropped his phone and got the screen fixed since it was under warranty. His was a Moto G2 though.

please help me. do you know how to repair my xperia x1? it's just fell when i tripped in my college's stair. and now it won't turn on and the body is kinda broken....... help where can i fix this? does this void the warranty? and how much will it cost me? will the sony replace with a new one? if i sell this, how much is it worth? the phone won't turn on. i can see the chip is bent. the casing is opened in the volume button area. but when i connected it to the charger, the illuminating led works fine...

I think it is not covered by the warranty so there is 3 solution:
1- you have an insurance for your phone which can cover this damage
2- you pay to repair it
3- you buy a new phone
I feel you.. I dropped mine from the 3rd floor and it died :/
Luckily I managed to get a new one from my insurance.
If it's only a home insurance you've got, make up a story that you dropped it at home somewhere
u might say u dropped it from a 3m high table
anyway i hope u luck buddy i would feel bad if my xperia dropped from 2nd floor.

can you tell me more about the home insurace...?
I wonder one thing - how can insurance cover something you did (=it's your fault that it's damaged)..??

Ummm ...next time you crash your car (your fault) will you not claim on insurance?
AFAIK insurance covers faulty devices, or when they brake by themselves.
Just pay for it to be fixed.

You are right. My bad.
I remembered that the store guys offered me insurance, but I declined.
I can fix anything software related (xda ftw ) and if the hardware brakes, I'll just send it to a random phone repair shop. No need to pay huge cash for insurance.

i think ill take you up on your offer of i can fix anything software related...i have 6.5 roms but when they are coupled with a rhodium dialer i cannot pick up about 90% OF THE calls screen nor hardware button when i go to pick it up it jsut stays on the incoming call screen and then goes to miss call.. u think you can help me figure it out heres a thread with people with the same problem..oh yea if i use the orginial dialer all works well.....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4070391...pm me if you think u can figure it out thanks
We can rebuild him....
My Xperia fell off my motorcycle and got run over by a car coming behind. I got a new casing and display from one of the Hong Kong parts vendors and rebuilt it myself from a YouTube video on how to assemble/disassemble X1.
It's like BRAND NEW!
Give it a shot. Check out the YouTube video first to see if you think you can pull it off.
Good luck!
omfg guys, am I the only one who treats the phone well? There is a topic about falling from the 2nd floor, X1 in the toilet.. My oh my, I feel now like an renegade

I was talking about the problems I had so far on my phone + the help from XDA obviously . Plus, I have never used 6.5 for a long period of time, so I can't help there .

I never had any of the cracking, peeling and w/e as well. Just treat your phone better peeps. That's the secret .
Does anyone know what I can do to fix it?...my screen is only showing colour lines with black lines in between on the top half of the screen only, thanks.
Edit: I am 99% pretty sure the LCD is cracked.
It'll cost you a fair amount of £ to fix that. You'll have to replace the display and the glass (since it's zero gap, and therefore they're in one piece).
See if there are any service centers near you and get a quote from them, but it'll be expensive. It'll almost be cheaper to just buy a new device (on contract, that is)

I have been to a few repair shops around my area, I got quotes for £180, £150 and £100.
One guy said it has to be opened internally and replaced.

Happened to me, Samsung replaced it, they took FIVE MONTHS to do it but they did (After almost entering with a process against the company). They said it costs R$700 to fix it here, but the phone alone (new) on the stores is about R$850.
Well, five months of wait, i won't buy a Samsung phone again, and the screen they placed looks **** (It its REALLY over-saturated, and darker colours look so **** that you can't imagine.)
Have you enabled this?
I managed to get my phone fixed, it cost me £160...I have my old screen unit if anyone requires it?

Hi Guys,
My XZR fell down and it has got a huge crack from top right till bottom left. Touch isn't working.
Went to the service center. They said that screen isn't replaceable. They used to provide a new handset at half price, but as the production is stopped they can't do that now. But, they will provide a discount on any other model I select which is currently in production.
Can I buy the screen and do a DIY? or should I go for a different model?
By the way, I am from India.
Thanks

From second link you can calculate estimated shipping price and delivery time and cost in Indian Rupee. You can give it to any local known mobile repairer to replace the screen and pay him his charges for replacing if you are not confident to do it
You can replace the screen but you'll lose the waterproof "feature" of your phone.
I cracked my Xperia Z and price to repair was about 60% of purchasing price. :silly:
So bought a Xperia ZR instead.:victory:

Is there any way to retain the waterproof feature?
I guess as per the bold description the lcd is glued. Can we do that?

Thibk so, but waterproof feature must be the reason why it's so expensive.
If a repair center says the repaired phone is waterproof again and it's not ....
Hi friends.I recently met with an accident . When I checked my phone, the display was completely cracked Both the LCD and the digitizer are not working. I am considering sending it to the Sony service center in UAE. I know that this doesn't come under warranty, since I damaged it myself (not exactly). My question is,what display will they replace the cracked display with? Like JDC,sharp or someother display? Are the jdc and sharp displays available in the market? Because I don't want someother cheap display.
Sorry for my bad English.

If you give it to Sony service center it will be JDC/Sharp or some OEM replacement.
The will not give a cheap display don't worry.

Sorry. But I don't understand what do you mean by the OEM replacement since I am new to this topic. And how much does the JDC /Sharp displays cost?
Thanks for taking your time to reply me.

OEM refers to the company that originally manufactured the part/product.
The cost varies in different countries because of shipping, tax and other costs.
In UAE can be around 286 Dihrams
The display is the most costlier part in the phone. For the money i can get a new display instead i can buy a second hand Xperia Z.
I suggest you to try to sell the phone and grab some money then buy a second hand or buy a new phone if you have money.
So I dropped my Xperia 1 ii yesterday at work and the screen cracked. Ironically my tempered glass I ordered came in today from Amazon. Is there anywhere I can go to repair my screen or buy a screen replacement?
Also has anyone else new their screen on their Xperia 1 ii? If so, where and how did you replace it? Does Sony repair these phones if I send it to them? Any idea on pricing etc? I really don't wanna have wasted $1,200. Someone please help me!
Hi there, I dropped mine too few days ago. Did you have yours fix? If so, can you point me the way? I'm in US, btw. thanks

Yeah definitely in the US and they charged me $280 to fix it because I had no insurance on the phone.

I believe so, I did a request online and they gave me a number
I did see anywhere that I can request online. Did you chat with an agent?
I meant "didn't see"
I will try to call them tomorrow. Thanks for your help.
did you guys get yours fixed? if yes can you help me get mine fixed too.
I bought it from amazon and used it for a week and then I used another brand charger I had to charge it and it was fine until it ran out of charge and turned off now it's stuck on the sony logo screen when I try to turn it on. I tried the 812-920-4185 and it keeps going to voice mail so left a voice mail and emailed them too but I still haven't gotten a reply. the phone was used for only a week or two.

do you still have original charger ?
what happens when charge it while off
fully charge it and hold the power button and volume up (or down) same time then release when logo appears, it should open the recovery menu, clear cache x2 and reboot
if still not booting then connect to PC and do a reset repair using companion
using a 3rd party charger should make no difference unless it is faulty
if all else fails return it under warranty
there are plenty of forums that will help you resolve this problem including Sony support forum
